When I add in a point list to the curves on one side of the leaf and connect it, then mirror and connect to the other end it doesn't bridge properly, same thing happens when I use multiple poly quadratic spline on one end. is there a way around it or do I have to stick to one poly quadratic spline on one end?
at 2:14 youre flipping direction and connecting start to input, where your p4 connect with p1, mine connets p1 to p1 instead.. even non flipped, it still connects like this, so I have to have a weird direction which results in not properly working bridge list. Worked out by fiddling around, but all direction are switched and different from the video, it cant go circular/radial, it shouldnt loop. If splines loop, they break for some reason.
One thing that was not mentioned in the video is how to flip the veins, so they curl upward instead of downward. Though I get the feeling the spline position was incorrect initially, so they redid it later and didn't mention that in the video.
same, Im stuck there and dont know what it is, the veins are all crossing each other to the other side and flip. The directions are the same as in the video. Connecting 2 poly quadratic nodes with "Connect start to end, and end to start" switched to true doesnt work here too, it connects both ends into P1 from previous node.
@@coffeediction I believe you have to connect the points the opposite direction, so place node one where they place node four and node four where they place node one, etc. I think that will fix it.
I have a question regarding custom nodes and input parameters, can I have a custom node to change the Label or the Group of the output node via input parameters like the string? This would greatly improve the workflow of my textures and help sorting the outputs more for exporting
These videos are really useful, thank you. I would only suggest to explain the nodes as you place them, instead of frontloading the video with this detailed information. These details without context quickly makes me lose my interest and focus.
It's just a nightmare. It’s better to create a vector in a third-party editor than to suffer like this in SD. It would be better if the developers took as a basis the work with vectors in the Genetica program - it is done much easier there, because it has its own advanced vector editor.
This is a cool technique! Splines are really opening up a lot of creative doors.
when i saw this quick tip...i knew a new set of 'designer dark magic' was about to happen! 😂 awesome.
Finally, this is exactly what have been looking for! Amazing stuff!
I've never known that Adobe has such a huge software and tutorial. I could learn 4/5 of Adobes in a few days. Fast and easy. Wow!
At 3:29, why do I need to do a start offset here? and why doesnt the spline bridge mapper grayscale work properly unless I need to do that?
how do you multi select all the ouput nodes to connect them to another ?
2 on keyboard
Hold down the "2" key :)
Came back literally just to ask this. What an awesome tutorial, thanks for this. Great work!@@Substance3D
Great and well explained tutorial, really helpful, thanks!

i can only connet a dot at a time . how can u connect those dot like in video 3 to 3 or 5 to 5?

You can't dynamically change labels or groups on parameters. However, I think what you're after is "Visible if" for parameters.
Scrach map tutorial would be nice.

Thanks for your feedback!
Doesn't work as shown in the tutorial. If you do not change the direction of the stem and do not attach it to the previous curve, everything works
great ilove it
