    If you liked Invisible Cities, you need to read Collected Fictions by Jorge Luis Borges. That book is a Universe unto itself.

      Thank you :):)
      These are all such great authors, reading them once itself is not enough. Hope you get to these books soon!

    A fantastic set of reflections. You deserve credit for the statement on Nietzsche...”I think everyone should read it-even those who DON’T read.” This is a philosophical aphorism, in itself. Well done.

    I love to see non-brazilians reading books by brazilians authors ! Great review about Clarice's work, she's wonderful, complex and real - for me she's nearly perfect ! Haha And if you liked this novel, I'm sure you'd love to read "uma aprendizagem ou o livro dos prazeres" (i dont the English title). Its basically a book about finding yourself and descovering the world in and out of you. And its about love, all the kinds of love and how feel the feelings, and let it be. Its complex. But Clarice's work is not the kind you understand, you have to feel it ! And i almost fogort: search for her short stories, they're insane and wierdly beautiful hahha my favorite is "perdoando Deus" wich is basically a story about clarice forgiving god for thowring the raw reality right on her face.

      Hi.. Yeah Lispector's writing is truly honest and complex at the same time, which makes you want to read ALL of her works.
      Oh and I'm gonna Google the novel you recommended right now!
      Also, "about finding yourself and discovering the world in and out of you. And it's about love, all the kinds of love and how feel the feelings, and let it be." - that's right up my alley! Already excited for this one!
      I have her short stories, been meaning to get to those soon, very very soon.
      You talk about Clarice Lispector so well, surely encouraged me to read more of her books. Thanks a lot for that. :) And also for sharing your thoughts here!

    Have you ever read this quote by neitszsche, "That for which we find words is already dead in our hearts" . This reminds me of yukio mishima's essay in sun and steel, where he expresses the nature of words as corrosive. What are your thoughts on it ? Have you come across similar ideas by other authors ? Good job on this video. Always pleasant to see your videos.

      I'm quite curious now to read Mishima's essay, I think I'm gonna do that today, it sounds very interesting - something I'd love to read! Thanks for the recommendation. :D:D

    How many books do you read in a week?

    • @ReadADayClub
      @ReadADayClub  2 года назад +3

      It actually depends on my mood, but I try to read at least 4-5 books per month. A book per week, and sometimes maybe 2 books if work is not so hectic that week.
