For the final ufo, a funny scene would be having it crashed into Brick Nottingham, causing an accident and getting a ticket!
I second this
No, go even worse, illegally parked in a no-parking zone.
The pilot is at that illegal fight scene on the movie theater.
Now towing it away, is a no go, but what about lifting it away, with a mobile crane?
Say, what about a train wagon, with a small alien ship, on it, with high security, for travel to some military base?
O wait, that is a Secret Police Wagon, where is it going now?
Ohh the drop pod could be getting a parking ticket, haha!
You could even build the tiny car the parking enforcer drives!
@@binkman67Drop Pod getting a parking ticket would be amazing. It's a shame Lego don't do a dropping off sign like at airports...
the remaining space saucer could be landed in the middle of the fairground, because of some engine malfunction, with people queueing up for a ride before a rather beffudled alien.
Amazing idea
Yes… this ha robin hood bricks written all over it…
I was going to say he could have the alien body slumped over the edge of the cockpit with the head having fallen onto the sea floor so it's more visible but I like your idea much better. That'd be a really funny scene.
I love seeing the city starting to be built again and I can’t want to see all the major changes that will be made!
Yeah, me too. It's a bit daunting at the moment. What do I need more of? Everything!
Throw in a Tardis rocking up to help save the day from the aliens 😂.
I've never seen a police box. If a real one turned up somewhere everyone would say, ooh a tardis, haha!
Fabulous set up. I think the spacing of the flyers is just about right from the visual point of view. It gives the impression that the individual flyer has somewhere to go. Too packed and stacked might end up looking a bit congested.
Great to see the new room taking shape.
Totally agree, thanks!
Fantastic and what a great way to keep things going with the new room harking back to the original video.
It all looks great - plus the new blue walls make it stand out even further - it also looks like an expanse of blue not a corner.
Excellent and fiddly work!
The use of the remaining alien craft has a clear solution - turn it into an alien crash-scene cargo train carriage at a massively awkward angle. That would be awesome - imagine that going around! 😂
23:37 Ohh salamanders! I’ve just started collecting them for my warhammer. Anyways, the scene looks great! Looking forward to seeing the city grow.
Spooky eh!
That Salamanders Space Marine logo is quite uncanny given you made drop pods for your conquesting aliens. I love the scene you’ve created, keep up the great work. Kudos.
Thanks very much, Dustin. Yeah that was weird, haha!
Best use of Alien Conquest sets ever! Well done Robin! The placement of the craft is excellent and painting the hooks was smart. I think a skull piece as a head in the craft for under the sea would work, even if it isn’t quite the right shape. It would definitely get the point across. Another great vid.
You could add some alien ships trying to save the mothership, either chasing or intercepting the blue jet.
More!
Looking brilliant! If i had one suggestion, you could tie string between 2 ships (say the interceptor and the mothership) and attach some little red/green lasers, as if they're mid-fire. It could really bring it to life.
Wow that is so much easier said than done. Do you know how fiddly that would be? Haha, I'll try but no promises!
@@RobinHoodBricksif you had hollow 'lasers' you could thread the fishing line through them. While not technically Lego, you could find long fluoro beads?
I think the new thread is worth the pain because that looks awesome!!!! I love watching your creative genius coming through, bravo!
Thank you so much. That means a lot. It took ages, haha!
Love all the action in the air.. and the new lines look great, or actually don't look great. they are lost against the blue
Yes, they are weird to work with. You touch them and still can't see them!
An idea for the last UFO with the clear skull is that it could be an ancient crash site possibly as a part of the upcoming underground scenes. Maybe that's why the original aliens that got captured came to visit?
They're rescuing their Alien Commander who's captive on the Space Tower but it could be archeological!
@@RobinHoodBricks my thought was that the alien commander could have originally arrived in brick Nottingham in search of the marooned alien
I love the idea of more underground scenes if you can fit them in vs more subway stations. I keep thinking about the mine that hides the Back To The Future Delorean in the beginning of the third movie.
I'm hoping to have more builds across two levels, linking it all together!
Love the shadows cast by the ADU copter etc... I know that may change a bit as more stuff goes in but for now it's really cool. Great to see the new room starting to develop
Excellent placement of these builds, making a really fluid scene. That nylon string is awesome, i couldn't see it. More alien conquest builds would make the scene even more dynamic .Thanks Robin 😊.
the grabber on the mothership is begging for an important figure to be kidnapped maybe the mayor or even Mrs hood! It also gives a bit of story on the battle, maybe they were living in peace until a series of kidnappings occur across brick Nottingham
Wow, awesome!! I love how you started to make Brick Nottingham+. So far, it really feels like all the stuff we knew, but better and extended. Looking forward for many more video's like this.
Yeah there may be a few "transplant and add to" videos in the next few months!
The one, you’ll want to use in your Deep Sea Cabinet. The alien could have been wearing gloves - if you can’t find/get translucent hands 😊
I think we're gonna go skeleton, which makes the scene more clear and has hands covered!
🎉 amazing 😍. Can't wait to see more! Conquest is so fantastic I see more in your future
Yeah, maybe my favourite ever small series!
A solution to wanting to see more subway without doing another station would be to have one of the drop pods crashing through the ground level to the subway level below. I was thinking it could expose another view of the subway but could expose an underground Ninja turtle lair or some other underground goings on.
It's a good idea. I also have a few like it!
Robin the scene looks really great! I had some of those UFOs as a kid and loved them. Maybe one crashing ship (or jet) with a smoking engine would add the perfect amount of chaos to it all.
Can't wait to see the mega train! A fun idea for the mothers ship's claw would be if it was grabbing onto a human in an ejector seat from a downed jet. Also the skeleton alien could have gloved hands to avoid the lack of trans clear hand pieces.
I think a regular skeleton body might emphasise the deadness!
It’s a great scene you’ve put a lot of thought into it - maybe get some explosions into it to show some action!
Explosions are hard as they can look a bit weird but I'll give it a go!
It would be cool to see the whole cargo train going round the track.
I'll do that, because it'll be a long wait otherwise!
The last saucer could be half buried in the mining scene when you get around to it.
That will be crazy busy already. I've got a lot to fit in a small area!
I think we had a chopper that was damaged and being saved by superman. Maybe we could position that roughly in line with the 3 saucers on the left. Maybe the crashed ufo could have some coral growth between the pilot and the dome to give some contrast to the skull. Does the skull show up well with the underwater lights- maybe the colored lights will change how it looks. Amazing results with the air space.
Much appreciated. Yes I'll try to remember that!
The ADU seem to be outnumbered and outgunned. I fear humanity may be doomed!
22:40 I thought of the three ducks as well as they are iconic, although I don't know anyone who actually had them.
27:35 Love your spooky dragon head silhouette!
Yeah I think BN is doomed too!
Fantastic. Love the invasion scene. I have a thought of the one "broken" ship. You could make a crash scene and using those white cloud parts to make smoke come from behind it and the alien could have the crystal skull head and the real head be disembodied nearby. A little morbid but a chance for something quite interesting. If you did want to use it in the deep sea build, you would need some lights behind the head to make it stand out better. Especially if it is in a darker area.
You could build some Lego clouds to stick on the wall with some scenes, much like your Giant from Jack and the Beanstalk.
Other scenes Gould see cherubs/angels relaxing or playing.
You could have grey/black thunder clouds with the Vidiyo line rock band playing having a concert.
I've designed some small clouds for just that purpose!
Yesss! Alien Conquest😃
Great scene now you have ADU in there. 👍You were saying you probably wouldn’t design your own ship. I have started one (it will take a long time I think) but based on the cancelled 2nd wave where there are some blurry box images available.
Definitely collect more!! Never stop the best Lego theme! 😁
JJ F
Definitely put a subway entrance at the main train station, so you give the illusion its connected to the network.
Flex track is also good for slowing down the train before that problem corner.
I'd also like to repeat my idea of putting the final station on the turn around loop rather than having it visit twice each loop.
There's one in New York that does such a thing, but it was abandoned because it made too much noise, ans it's simply used as a turn around loop to this day.
I want them to go through each station twice. Yes, I have four dummy subway stations with plans for a few more too!
For the hellscape you could make the monster destroy a subway car, not one of the 3 but make half of the original car and for the pieces that you dont have you could just make it so that the monster has its hand there or make it so that people are covering up those places or running away from it
Ps. I love your content and i hope you see my comment.
-Bananapudingtheclownhorsie
You could completely remove the canopy on the final UFO and replace with some smaller transparent pieces to represent broken glass. I also think the alien joke would come across better if he was bent over the steering wheel like he flew halfway out of the UFO during the crash into the ocean
if you place a string between one of the defender ships and an alien ship you can use a tiny bit of clear tape to stick a missile to it heading towards the enemy. maybe even have someone riding it "Slim Pickings" style.
I haven't watched that movie for ages. That's a fun idea though, without a rider!
Have you thought about using the giant claw from the mother ship to grab something, like a cow, giant donut, one of the human pods or even another blue ship with the claw holding a wing or tail and having the other half of the ship crashing? Excited for the room transfer!
I think it's just arriving so it looks menacing!
It's funny to see you starting Brick Nottingham all over again. If i remember correctly, the alien mothership was one of the first videos of the previous city ! I forgot how big this ship is !
I'm really looking forward to see the city grow again, bigger and better, ever if it also means seeing the old city being teared apart piece by piece. I haven't leave a comment on the previous videos but thanks for the regular updates of the new Lego room ! It's rare, and interesting, to see all the process and planning of building a Lego city, even without Lego pieces themselves.
I'm surprised how invisible your new hooking system is ! That's perfect. Perfect like the blue walls.
I was about to comment about the shadow of the aliens kidnappers, but you see it yourself !
As a fellow UK citizen you are, no flying Tardis to give a little hand when there's an alien invasion ? 😉
Last thing, I find the lights of the new room a little too yellow. And as the lights are inside the celling, the corner where you have put this awesome swarn got less light than the previous city... I liked the white day-like light of the previous room.
I'll continue sorting the design and table processes as I think a lot of people are interested. The powerful lights from the old room will probably come down to this room in time but they're hot to work under in summer. Or I could swap the bulbs but that won't reach the corners as much!
It would be awesome if you made an ADU base, or some kind of building/reference somewhere. Maybe like a bunker or hangar at the airport or a level in your space tower?
I think there's a few of them in the space tower guarding the Alien Commander but I know what you mean!
The misterious shadow 🤣🤣Amazing work 👏👏 Man, you rock!!!
You could incorporate the saucer into something at the Fairgrounds, similar to how the alien tries escaping in Men in Black from the saucer that’s been hidden in the worlds fair
Or it could be parked at the Alien Cantina
The Cantina certainly will need parking!
I was expecting super long cargo train....but this was still great..the alien mother ship was the first video I watched on your channel and seeing it again was nostalgic..keep it up robin..can't wait to see the mine
Could you add some of those cheap battery powered string lights above the subway stations so you can turn them on when you want to look at it? Buying some warm white lights would give the underground lighting feel and allow you to see further back. Possibly allowing for a second platform on the subway stations?
I got some IKEA ones for this in the last city but never used them. I could try it!
Brick Nottingham is starting to look great in the new Lego room. Those Ikea tables are really good 😁 have got them too.
Indeed. A decent amount of planning means I have a clue what's going on. So many tables, levels, ideas, haha!
What alovely dogfight :) It looks really great and dynamic.
Have you played with forced perspective? Maybe you could make some saucers from various lego dishes to make them look like they are in the distance. Althought it still might need more space to get the right effect...
I tried that with façade buildings once and it looked ok but only from one direction. It looked very weird obliquely. Maybe it'd be ok with dishes but I'd still get comments asking what they were, haha!
That crashed UFO reminds me of Roswell new Mexico crash 1947
Exactly what I was going for, haha!
Hey Robin, great job, as ever, but maybe even better if you remember one of your key rules to pack and stack that [corner] scene with even more alien ships and BN defence craft. Great entertainment all the same. Cheers Robin 👍🏻😃
Good point but I don't want to overdo it either, haha!
What do you hope the next modular building is. For me, a post office would be amazing
They wont… every one wants it… they would rather do their own petty nonsense… the same as the hospital..
They never seem to do what I want, but then I like them anyway so I'll take whatever. I'd like a Laser Tag Centre!
I've never seen an helicopter fight with UFOs. Whh they don't have spaceships ????? 🛸
The SSP got all the funding. That's the one thing they're good at!
So cool to see the new start of this city and thanks for the videos you made me buy an ssp guy
Haha, enjoy him. Actually take care as the SSP are quite bossy!
I think you should add some 30141 jetpacks coming in to help fill empty space.
Hmm, not my favourite. Easy to make though!
Now I've seen reptiles on the wall can't unsee them😮😮😮😮
Spooky eh!
I like the idea of the final UFO at the bottom of the sea bed. The canopy could be open, and the alien body could be sat on the sea bed next to his craft, perhaps the crystal skull on a skeleton minifig? Loving the new room so far!
Yeah, there'll be so many wrecks that it makes sense there'd be a UFO too!
Final UFO is already missing an engine. Maybe add flames as it was hit and going down. The baddies can’t all be winning!!
You could always add LEDs under the ground tables to light up the subway stations.
I think folks' interest in more subway stations, is really just a misplaced interest in having more variety of underground scenes around the city in general!
I think the interest is in robins ability to link similar items with absolute different themes and stories.. for example haunted subway was amazing… so like the other and utterly unique and state of the art in every brick… we just want the opportunity to see anything like that again… week longs build again
Well the third one could be similar but different again. More futuristic this time. Deffo more underground scenes too. Remember the Cyclops army for instance?!
that round silver tape measure with the red dot is very old my dad had two and I think they are in by shed now.
the lego is fab too. . . .
Yeah, my first ever tape measure!
Wow, what a great scene! Im definitely getting some Independence Day dogfight vibes here. It looks awesome with all the craft around each other there. Very awesome!
Yes, I should've mentioned that film. Mars Attacks was in my mind when I was doing it!
I know the pain of the 0.15 mm fishing line. Impossible to see and was a nightmare for me taking stuff down, kept getting tangled in it!
Have to say it looks a million times better than before, the eyehooks and thread are virtually invisible.
I think you need a third tripod space craft on the earth level. With a traffic warden trying to give a ticket...in fact the aliens could be abducting the traffic warden because of the ticket.
Yes, someone getting thrown in the back!
Maybe do a bit of the flex track before and after the stations as well so you hear it approaching.
ok....time for panik, the aliens are coming :) Great work :)
Don't paniiiiicccc!
Robin, i don't know why but my mind made me think of the 4th alien disc having crashed into a tree and the 2 aliens are on the ground trying to poke it loose with some sticks/brooms, while some of the public watch and also look for hidden camera filming the surposed skite. cheers for the amazing content Robin.
Hey Robin. Love the plans for the new subway!
I was thinking, you could change one side of the subway train then it would look like two different trains in different directions.
Although, I do like the one "train that could."
Yeah one train reappearing everywhere links then together best and should be fun to follow through I reckon!
Maybe a skeleton head from one of the Lego Ninjago skeletons would make it more obvious as to what has happened
you should make a underground area 51 kinda place with the crashed ufo being inspected by the SSP
Maybe you could add some lego-build explosions inbetween the battle on string Robin? Don't want to stress you out after all your hard fiddly work hahaha... Anyway, lovely start and excellent scene!
You could maybe replace the pilot with a skeleton and some funky alien looking skull - like the oversized skeleton heads from Ninjago: Samukai for instance (njo014 on Brinklink) could make a wonderful alien skeleton (but there's other similar versions available as well). Also: removing one of the saucer's plates as part of damage and deterioration and placing various seaweed and other underwater elements on and around it could make it look quite nice for an underwater scene.
I kinda liked my crystal skull but it's too subtle!
You could put the minifigure with the crystal skull just outside the crashed ship in the Under Sea cabinet like he fell out of the ship or tried to eject as it was crashing
Yes, with a smashed canopy!
@@RobinHoodBricks exactly! poor guy
You’ve got the momentum. Keep going 😊
Thank you, I will!
Not sure about what to do with the final alien ship, but I really think you should collect more as they are very cool.
Too addictive, haha!
Fun alien battle scene 🐱👍, I am a bit confused by the haphazard table layout, though I'll probably see what your plan is once you have more tablets in the room, however i do wonder why the radiator was put where it was, taking up so much space🤨
lol, you should really engineer something better than crawling beneath tables. Make a table that can swing out like a giant hinge brick, or something that can lift up.
Difficult with rail track, monorail track, boats, bridges. I'd love to!
I'd hate for you to have to move everything again, but how hard would it be to hang a get bolts flying at the Aliens? It might look cool since it's a battle up there. Maybe the final Saucer could've been a casualty of battle and either fell to the ground or is falling. Use one of those clear pieces from the DC Minifigures and have an Alien falling out of it.
So more kinetic action? Ok!
Very well done bro! loving the new room coming together. as for the remaining ship i'd make it crash land next to the one abducting the farmer A la Men in black one's opening scene maybe even suggest the ilusion that the ships pilot died by turning it into a facade where the ship buried itself into the ground. Much love from these 2 🇳🇱 fans. and good luck with the rest of the room.
maybe when you di the farm land, maybe you can put some extra aliens ships for more effect by so adduction.
I'm bound to have bought more by then!
@@RobinHoodBricks well than i shall wait and see what you do with the city
I dont know why, but wouldnt it be funny to stick sharks in the sky? Maybe the aliens brought them to fight or confuse the good guys
Errrr. I think I'll pass. Besides I have loads of water to fill at the front cross section!
world invasion: battle Nottingham xD
It makes sense to start at the centre of our civilisation!
Will you be building a moon base upside down on the ceiling?
I did that when I had my city and it looked quite effective, was always a moment of "oh gosh, wow. Look what you've done there" for guests. I used the rollercoaster track from set 60228 on the moon for a working exploration area with the launch pad back on earth.
Shhhh, it just so happens I am. Did you guess that from the crater baseplate? If you watch the hauls, that is operation "old grey plates"!
@@RobinHoodBricks I remember talking to you about it a year a two ago and you were thinking about it then.
There are some nice moon baseplates with road markings for a functional moon base HQ.
Very exciting, the garage is going to be needing an extension!
This turned out well! Def. should get more! I think you said about having an underwater area at the front of the city under the harbor, what about having it crashed there?
Sorry I haven't commented in awhile, but I'm looking forward to seeing new lego city. Your alien scene looks awsome. How about adding a crash scene with the left over alien ship. You can have some of defenders surrounding the crashed alien ship somewhere on your new lego city.
That could be fun but we also have the crash landings from the drop pods for troop deployment!
You could make it look like two trains on the same line by doing one side a different colour combination
Two trains will either mean crashes or two smaller tracks, which I don't want. All need to be linked together!
@@RobinHoodBricks I actually ment changing the colour of one side of the existing carriages
I love this city! I’m looking forward to more! Maybe you could build a road tunnel to nowhere (or Brick Derby (boo.)) under the sea with some ridiculous scenes?
That sounds expensive, haha. No one wants to go to Brick Derby that much!
@@RobinHoodBricks
Right? Brick Derby, (Bleh!). The only cool thing about them is that they're a good place to deposit barrels of mystery fluids.
Great job
Much appreciated!
It be cool to go back to under the sea cabinet for a week
Yes, I agree but I'll do a few more here first!
Robin, can you modify that Alien Mothership, so it can recover the drop-pods?
Maybe using the legs of the Tri-pods as grabbing/storing arms?
And if so, what about a Alien Transport Ship, for all their looted stuff?
O and give the two captured folks, a wand, then they have captured Hermione Granger & Harry Potter.
O no, how will Voldysnort, ever kill them?
Now one thing is missing, a Tardis.
Come on Robin, where is that Tardis?
We both know, you want to sneak one in, and back then Lego did make a couple, one for that game console setup.
Set 60404 only needs some jumper plates, to fit two minifigures, I would thus think you would really like that set.
So, I guess the aliens are mad because they were here first and the Bricknottingham-ian's took their land. I think the aliens built the subway system and then Robin and his Merry Minifigs moved in. I will have to wait for the next episode of the Clint Rage Show to find out the truth. 😝
Add crash space ship on the road or building ❤🌆
what about using these flex tracks in one of your stations, alternating left right, so your subway is wobbling and shaking while passing through
That sounds a bit weird, haha!
oh the thin thread is really not vicsible! nice improvment (not that the other option was bad at all)
Yeah it's spooky stuff. You forget it's there!
Brilliant
Yay, thanks!
@@RobinHoodBricks welcs.
you have done a good job there
Thanks a lot!
There are a lot of real-life train systems that use a single track for back-and-forth travel. Usually this is just a portion of the track. A light rail train I used to take to work had a single track for the first few miles and had a splitter at the station so more than one train could park there. On either side of this stretch the train would wait until the track was clear.
What about using the fourth saucer in the city, flying between two buildings. In that classic way, tilted 90 degrees to one side when flying between a narrow space?
Holy S**t ! I need to hurry up and comment right now.. your turning loop could be tighter and hosting an abandoned curved station as City Hall in NYC .. a historical curved station 😮 .. I will be so jealous
As LEGO as a serious history with skeleton left behind bars .. the Cristal skull could fit into the alien jail in your space tower.
.. or on a spear on a ADU unit ? 😅
I think two abandoned stations out of three might be a little much but I'll certainly play around with the curved and two track ideas for the final station!
I think you should Just have a dud second platform with a train that has stopped at the new station and passengers are getting off/on it.
That blocks the view a bit but I'll consider it. It certainly won't match this expensive one!
More!
Wow Robin I love youer stuff and can i give a build idea? I think u could have a large alian ship the is drilling into the ground stealing minerals and also a rock monster 😂 it could have a large aa gun like blaster shooting down a plane?
I ment it to be like a larger version of the dropship ❤
You can get trans clear hands, I used them to make my invisible man minifig
Are you sure? I can't find them in the catalogue. Can you send me a link or set in a new comment so I get it please? Thank you!
@@RobinHoodBricks part 983
Can we add the go-pro to the front of the train to see if it sees it's own tail?
u need more adu agents there out numbered and on the fight from alien defense hq is lego honoring a moc bluider that passed who used to make spaceship mocs like the fighter before the theme lunched
I didn't know that. The ADU should've had a bigger budget but it all went to the SSP!
