Rebuild turned restoration of the lowest mile Civic Si in the auction

- We started with a rebuild but this super low miles 2007 Honda Civic Si needs more restoration work than rebuild work. Honda has some paint and rubber issues and the Texas sun definitely didn't help things.

I like the land of make believe. It's the only place where I'm skilled, competent, and only have to do things once.
It's my favourite place as well. Plastics never break, bolts are not rusty, and nothing is on back order ever!
And you're married to a Supermodel?
@@moehoward01 My wife is one of the few realities I cling to. After 31 years she' still a super model in my eyes, but even better she's my partner in dealing with life.
Hey Scott. Thank you again for taking time to video your work. I think you’re a hell of a mechanic and your work is definitely top notch. And thanks for validating for me that anything and everything can and will be a hammer/scraper, or whatever is needed and whichever tool is closest. I’m the same way. Keep the videos coming. I enjoy watching them.
Damn Scott - nobody out-works you, that's for sure. You're a 1-Man Rebuild Machine,. Huge respect.
Yes to the land of make BELEIVE . Thank you for Mr Spooty .
7:29 comment about the supervisor helping. I know guys who have trained their dogs to get a beer, and some other things. I was working on the bench one day and my cat was at the other end laying on a pair of side cutters. I said "alfie, hand me those pliers" he looked around huh? Hand me those pliers you're laying on! he looked around, he KNEW I wanted him to do something but couldn't figure out exactly what. He was the funniest cat I ever had. Whenever I was building something he HAD to be involved. I've got pics of him sitting on a custom library ladder I built, inside the drawers of an armoire, sitting inside some kitchen cabinets, he always had to be involved.
One time I had painted the underside of an MDF desk top I had made. I went out for lunch came back and there's cat prints across it. ALFIE!!!!! you little brat. I had to repaint it.
I told the customer about it and she said "oh wow, you should have left them, that would have been a funny story to tell" (she was a cat person too).
I worked at a shop with a German Shepherd as a shop dog. I was her favorite tech and she would follow me around all day. I’d kick bushings across the floor and we’d play fetch that way. One time I was carrying rotors to the scrap pile and she comes up behind me with one I had left. We thought for sure she would break a tooth but from that day forward she always carried one for me. If I can find the video, I’ll post it.
@@vehcor haha that's freaking hilairous...a rotor haha...."need some help with that chief"?
Doggos are the best!
Reminds me of a buddy's dog, a jack russell mix, "find a stick" and she'd go off and find a stick to play fetch with. One day she comes bag dragging a branch that had to be 10 feet long with leaves and smaller branches still attached lol "YOU NUT"

Sweeeeeeet! I showed this channel to my brother not too long ago and everytime you drop a new video we watch it on the big screen!
@TheNascarguy14......you just gave me an idea to watch!.......I gots an LG 55in 4k screen downstairs!
Great start to my day, thanks Scott.
Thanks for watching!

Thanks for the entertainment- it’s great to see how you work your magic.
Keep up the great work!
This is good of you. What a blessing to someone who needs a leg up.
Best channel I watch for learning something new every time.
Bought my first auction car today ,from iaa. mostly because of watching your vids for a few years now. Keep up the great work !
It’s Friday! Have a great weekend Scott! Love the vids!
I finally figured out where that condensation is coming in my car after a rain, thank you!! it's the window seals!
Thanks Scott
Looking good as always! Glad to see Max tools buys their creapers from Harbor Freight .
More folks could stand to adopt your humor!
Too many people take life and themselves too seriously.
Scott you're never to old for back seat gymnastics lol.👍
I always think that you are head and shoulders above the rest thanks 😊
Scott. You are brave working on the floor on top of a sewar grate. I would have dropped every bolt in my hand down the drain.
@bousquethouse398 ........a piece of cardboard or burlap over the drain prevents that!
If you watch the afternoon crew’s first Scion video, you can see what happens when the sewer takes a prisoner. 😂
@@vehcor 😂😂
Perfect timing, Friday night viewing.
God my life has changed... 😬😂
😂
Once again another awesome video. See you next week Scott. 🚗🚗🚗
I think someone is gonna get themselves a nice Honda… Too bad I can’t enter..(I live where the Maple Leaf flies)…Oh well!!! I’m fortunate enough to not need it anyway, thankfully… You’re a good man Scott doing a good thing.. well done 👏👏👏
The Maple leaf is a great place I visited there in 2019 nicest people ever anywhere I've been
This Si is not the giveaway car. But they’re both black and it was confusing to me as well.
Hey Scott, in your list of Texas stuff (sand, cacti,...) in the connectors, you forgot steer manure😁
Amazing how you k ow when to pry, pull, twist or get a screw driver. Age and experience sure does a lot. Enjoy
Q: How can you tell that Mr. Spotty is in trouble? A: He's in a jamb.😏
Is it Friday? Oh wait it is cause we get Scott! Oh your a princess alright..😆 🤣 😂. As always I appericiate you being you and for the 20 min ride along.
Don't you marvel at the way all those pieces and parts line up so that Tab D fits into Slot Q? All the intricate supports, screws, nuts, bolts and spars and pieces that fit together so well --- the engineering is amazing. Don't you wonder?
These cars are a real puzzle! I'm thankful for my camera phone. Beats writing things down.
Man this is awesome. I can’t believe how much work it takes to fix a door hehe. Just like magic 😂
Awesome video by my friend Scott
wow, painting the whole car, in black, to give away. That's got to cost a couple of bucks. Good on you for going to that level of detail on a giveaway. I know you can probably write off the cost from your profits but still, pretty damn good of you! I take back (almost) every bad thing I ever said about you!
This isn’t the giveaway car - he’s actually fixing two Civics.
nice with the K9 employee
You should make a second channel call it Scotty’s sarcasm and emporium
SNARKEY
Must have had a good dose of Mrs Strugglesworth's with breakfast that morning 😆....I totally can appreciate that!
It's a shame that there isn't any money in rebuilding cars like this... lol.
I used to have a 3 ft long screwdriver extension. Showed up to the construction site and all the "pros" were ragging on me about it. So we had to install drywall on the ceiling of a cottage we were renovating. A dutchman to hold the board up, me on the ground with my 3' extension, screws in the corners and a couple in the middle onto the next one. Then once all the boards are in place, I walked around putting the rest of the screws in.
Hey how'd you board the entire ceiling in a couple of hours by yourself?
30 mins later every one of them was asking where I got the extension and if they could borrow it. lol Funny how the "know it alls" don't.......
Awesome videos and content, thanks!
Great video, Scott! Great work, as always!
I have to say, with all this Honda Civic content lately, and the land of corruption and rust in the deep of winter, I hope never to see any more Mustangs on this channel, ever.
As a self-proclaimed tool expert: you're using the towel wrong! 😂
You probably already thought of this, what if you purchased a water/damaged lambo? That would be an awesome build! haha
Scott's used parts emporium doesn't have any parts for Lamborghinis.
You're the best I love all your videos you're awesome but I want to see more of the pizza girl 😉😉😉😉
The supervisor does more work than mr spotty, and shows up more often 😂😂
Don't clean it man!!! HEY!! Where's that MUSTANG BEEN?? Good vid as usual!
Just use a small flat blade screwdriver on the plugs, simples no more struggling. Love the content 👍
Lol you should see my 08 civic the only place the clear coat hasn’t come off is the hood front fenders and bumper cover was repainted under warranty 10 years ago
The struggles is real!!!
The Civic has come a long way since it was basically a radio flyer wagon with an engine attached -- you know back in the day. There's probably not many of those left because they were extremely prone to rusting.
@Cartier_specalist a lot of those old CVCC's were popularly used as roll over derby cars!
👍👍👍😎😎😎loving the sarcasm as usual.keep doing what your doing and carry on.good video.
there is tv netflix and vechor. not a hard decision. i found your channel looking for frame pulling and been binge watching since. the 4 year old slide show would have been a great video. and yes it is amazing to see your amazing metal skills. i also am amazed how you disassemble the interior as i break my hard to find old truck parts.i actually think those enclaves are nice, they are no escalade but i am no millionaire. not boring at all except the office build sorry man.my remodel is like sanding and bondo to you
Those vents are pressure release valves as a point of trivia
Biodegradable interiors. That's what we have in Texas. Self-removing paint is also a popular option, almost as popular as the "I've been within 1/4 mile of a gravel truck on the highway" (see also: broken in several places, FUBAR) windshield.
That's why we scour midwest craiglist and marketplace for interior parts- because they still exist there lol
And we come down there looking for rust free cars. 😂

Windshield pox is a problem here in the Pacific Northwest too. They don’t salt the roads, but they do use gravel when it gets icy.
Cool Mr spotty is back
Good thing the boss didn't catch you napping, otherwise she might have dachshund your pay.
Does the supervisor get treats for letting you do whatever you want?....😁
Hi Scott any time frame as to when or if ever youll do anymore to the mustang always looking for more .I no you said customers cars come first but would to see how to body fits .
Another great video,… but I’m waiting for another Chevrolet or GMC truck build.
🙂
Good job as usual
i dont really need the free civic car...i think its awesome and someone prob really really needs a car...thank you
What is your preferred brand of cavity wax?
Looking good Scott! I bet that this was sold before you even was able to finish the repair! 👍
He’s not selling it .. he’s giving it away to someone who needs it… it’s a contest of sorts

The rumor is true! I have two black civics. They share the same body parts and color but the two cars are about as opposite from each other as you can get in almost every way.
@@vehcor and you’re making one good one out of two.. correct??
Mr. Spotty needs respond to comments
The princess is struggling👍
7:30- How many screws, bolts and sockets do you think are at the bottom of that floor drain?? haha
@ 9:19.... "Our Rubber baby buggy bumpers..." Are you sure those aren't Rugged Rubber Baby Buggy Bumpers'?
Its my favorite day of the week. It is vehcor day yeaaa. Have a great weekend Scott. I live in Canada so I will not be entering the give away car but good luck to everyone that enters. Is that your dog Scott or the shop watch dog? She is gorgeous.
Taking those door panels off look like a major struggle compared to other manufacturers
You should put some anti-seize on those little plugs for the next guy so it will be easier😅
It's not Scotty until he sacks a least one armchair quarterback. Keep up the great work Scotty!
😂 👍🏻
how many bolts have rolled down into that drain over the years,i couldnt work there i would have to cover it,maybe just me
Wow!! Super low !😊

that drain grate looks like it eats 10mm sockets for breakfast
"We painted them!....Honda Didn't!".........now the next guy will definitely know that 'somebody's been here before!'
As for the paint job, even here in Thailand Black Paint does not hold up no matter what brand of car!......5555555
Was this the last video in the series? Can't find anything after this...painting gnome taking too long? :-)
still no video
Is the supervisor happy with the manufacturer torque spec? 😂
As much as I love Hondas, they really dropped the ball as far as paint endurance goes. Even relatively new(ish) models have the cancer.
Four bolts in the headlight. “Well I’ll be dipped!”
?
You and me both! 😂
I don’t think they got the reference…. Scott may have but the other guy is lost…🤔
Scott, I know from experience that those Germans can be demanding supervisors. The prettier they are,the more demanding
So... I haven't seen the end of this build uploaded to your channel yet. Am I missing something or have you just not gotten to it yet?
I like the new shop supervisor, what his or her name.
I thought you were moving to Texas because you don't like the cold. We made the big move 30 years ago and moved from New South Wales to Queensland to get away from the cold. Only problem, the cold followed us and now the summers at too hot as well as the winters being too cold. Can't seem to win and just have to make the best of things.
I have a few years before I can leave.
Too hot in NSW in summer too, but I love Cairns in winter.
@@johnhutchinson9714 It would be nice to fins somewhere where the weather is nice all year.
We call my 72 year old dad Mr. Plastic around our shop! Any guesses as to why?
Where do you get all your info as to taking panels off?
What's the name of 'hater' song at the end of your videos? Good choice. Enjoy your channel.

Scott found you a car 2000 Grand AM GT 2 door silver for $2,500 obo very clean looking car says runs great ad aays no title but I think it's wrong
Better do what the supervisor says. They can get...ruff...if you don't.
How much does it cost for you the repair a car it here in Texas rear ended
Can't help notice a significant lack of RGB...
So tell me if I'm right...VEHCOR stands for "Vehical Correction." Am I right? :)
CORRECT
2:55 dumb question: how do you know that bumpers are just clipped in instead of bolted? just experience on that particular model? Having never done one yet seeing you work on just about every make and model I wonder if there's any standardization?
Yes, I know, you're shocked, a legit question not another smart ass comment!!! I'm shocked as well!!!
Are you guys going to be putting this vehicle up for sale?
Man I always hated a Supervisor looking over my shoulder. I bet when you screw up he barks down your neck loudly and will never let you get in a word of explanation! Don't know if the money is worth it.
What's the situation with your work space? Do you give part of sale, rent, own the shop? Is there a video you explained it? I have watched a long time but may have missed a few videos.
I rent the shop on nights and weekends.
@@vehcor that's cool thanks for the response. Great work, wish I could afford/hire you to fix my van up. It's not bad at all, couple dings, 1 small spot of rust at bottom of door. Otherwise it's shiny and nice for a 95
i have owned a number of honda's and i will say that their paint is very low quality. it will chip if you look at it wrong. Do you agree?
Princess Scott. Has a nice ring to it. Lol.
