- In this video we will start working on a new build. It is a 2012 Lexus IS250 AWD and it is a Texas car. It still has a clear title despite being a total loss, it is rust free and I happen to know a guy with a lot of the parts we will need to fix it. Given all that, it made sense to buy this car. It was hit in the rear and has a bit of unusual damage. Let's dive into it and see how much we can get done today.

I recently was rear ended badly and had this exact impact on my car the insurance wrote it off as totaled and wrote me a check I absolutely loved that is250 and still do 🙌🏽RIP but I will continue to watch the rebuild series keep it up🦍🔥

Feeling a little attacked over here. I've got 4 cars and all of them have cracked windshields. I do replace them because they still keep the weather out. Plus, the big trucks like to throw rocks at you on the highway. I really enjoy your videos. Found your channel by chance thanks to the mustang build. Stayed for all the great repair work you do and also the humor. Keep up the great content.

You're lucky, here in the people's republic of NY even if it's a clean title as soon as the insurance company "owns" it it's considered salvage and has to go through a salvage inspection and have the title branded as such
(laughs in Texan) Can confirm windshield replacements. If the gravel trucks haven't gotten you yet, the hail will.

Since they don’t require perfect windshields at the annual inspection I don’t bother until it looks like it’s about to fall out all by itself.

The method most effective to remove broken glass from the inside of a vehicle is to hold it upside down and shake and repeat!

What is it with broken glass !?
I bought a car that had been broken into and they had smashed a door glass to get entry.
The previous owner had the window replaced , and in my cleaning of the car I found pieces of glass.
So I vacuumed and brushed everything out super thoroughly.
I even pulled up the carpets and cleaned the floor.
There wasn't a spec of glass left.
Then a couple of weeks later I go to get in the car , and there are a few cubes of glass on the carpet.
So I take them away ,, again a few weeks later another few glass cubes.
What , do I have pixies putting them there now just to fruk with me ?

I just wanted to let you know when you backed it off the trailer you had no brake lights. "Check the bulbs" is what Google said when I looked up the problem.
Oh and you don't know rust pal, you should try living in central Illinois, then we can talk about rust.
Third thing, that car is not worth fixing you should know better. My buddy has one you can buy with an actual clean title for way less and lower mileage and it's faster...😐

Wait, you forgot the fact that Google and other RUclipsrs say all totaled cars get salvage titles. 😂 They correct me on the Phillips all the time. I’m just going to refer to them as plus and minus and really watch their heads explode!

I have never seen one with an abbreviated trunk before. Sort of like a BMW E36 318ti but without the creases in the rear quarter panels.

I can't say I've ever seen used exhaust bolts. They seem to disappear before I look at the new ones I've used a second time.

I has a 2006 IS250. Great little car. Got rear ended. By great I mean it drove amazing. Problem is, it's a fake 4 door. NO legroom at all in the back. Seat passthrough is only big enough for a small coffee. So haters wont be pissing on themselves as much.
10:30 I remember when parcel shelves were big enough for 2 kids to sleep in comfortably! (yes I'm that old hahaha)
I still sometimes see a turkey feather floating around in my truck... I hit a turkey about 8 years ago, I've taken 90% of the interior out, and still...
they are breeding in your cowl that is where I found a rodent nest when trouble shooting a wiper problem.

Little story from my insurance adjuster days.....
At a shop, looking at a 2-3 year old '82 Camaro. Rear hit. Rear body panel caved in. Minor damage to the rear of the hatch. Glass was intact. I opened the hatch to look at the floor, and it wouldn't go up very far. Forced it open just a little bit more and BOOM! Glass exploded. Turned out the hatch structure had twisted and tweaked the hinges........ "Add a used hatch to that estimate, will you?"..........

What i see on RUclips; Lexus is pretty popular in the US. Here in Holland you see them, but not as much as BMW/Audi/Benz. More German(and lots of French) cars here.
But i believe it's a good car, only the design...😂

Re rust comments: discovered a few months ago that the '22 Sienna has non magnetic, presumably aluminum rear hatch, hood and both sliding doors. The driver/passenger doors are magnetic.
Scott RUclips is going insane or something. I usually watch the ads just to help the channel but this video had 4 ads that were 5 minutes or longer, and one that was 45 minutes, the ads were twice as long at the actual video so I skipped the ads, sorry but a Lexus? I would never have guessed that Scotts emporium had Lexus parts, a real variety store

Car drove off the trailer just fine, the trunk even seemed to close. If I were the owner, I would have just kept driving it and pocketed the insurance money.
I'd like to find out how many kidnapping victims have actually escaped their kidnappers by using the emergency trunk release from the inside?
New tires and no deployed airbags that should drive the clear title freaks nuts!
I really like the rough pulls on the frame machine to get things to a point to remove them. Was hoping for some sawzall action.
Dude, you do have to wear some protection when work with glass. Its not for you, its for your viewers. Someone can go and work on glass with protection and harm themselves. Not everyone is as experienced or careful
Hey Scott, you are getting soft on the clean freaks, you used the word ''vacuum'' a few minutes before you actually used the vacuum.
Probably not actually a Texas car. It doesn't have a Texas registration or inspection sticker in the lower left of the windshield.

it's what they call a repairable write-off. As long as the chassis isn't cracked it severely twisted, it's alright.

talking glass,i delivered a car and as i was parking it up her drive a piece of glass fell from the dash and landed on my foot,the customer had been told about the windshield damage and i had removed the dash and cleaned every bit but yes glass in a car always haunts,my job strangely tomorrow is to remove a screen and dash before repairs because i guess a cyclist nutted the windscreen as the car pulled out of a junction

I have this same car same color and have been through thick and thin with it insurance wanted to total it when I crashed it as well. But did everything in my power to save it and still drive it every day! Was great to see you do this work!

The vehicle was likely parked when it was hit ... the bags didn't go off ... thats and indicator as well as minor damage to the front

It's good to see an expensive car is just a bunch of cheap parts. And being from texas means all dust is red and whats not is imported in bags.
