Hi, so are we saying that the only reason for the 4 white and 2 amber flashing- code is that the physical ram card is physically damaged and not some setting that needs addressing. What is the usual culprit for the ram card failure other than running over it or throwing it in the swimming pool? I wish I could show you the setup that gave me the 4W2A light code if I could only figure out how to include a picture here. I connected an REI HDMI splitter (hds-104) to my XPS USB . There's an UPDATE connection on the box. After joining the 2 devices, it immediately closed me out, I had a funky-looking screen for a minute, but now all I have is a blank black screen. I've disconnected the power, battery, and 2 ram cards. Sounds like I may have also shorted something, but would that cause the ram error also? Do you have any advice? Thanks
Typically it is a problem with the RAM or RAM port. There are a lot of different reasons RAM can fail. Power surge, it came with a flaw from the factory, overheating, etc. Is it giving you this 2 4 LED code? Also when you remove all the RAM and turn the computer on does it beep?
@@EggheadFixers It is like 1 inch metal piece and it has 9 small holes two medium sized and one half sized holes in it I can send you a picture of this part if possible anywhere
@@TheBrownAsianGuy So it's up to you...You can keep using it or risk opening it back up to put it back in. You can take a video of what it looks like. Post the video and leave the link here. One of our technicians will watch it and get back to you.
Ma'am what if the battery is connected and I plug the adapter the orange/amber led light blinks non-stop . but if I remove the battery, and try to power it on using the adapter the led lights does not blink and there is no sign of power. The adapter is working BTW green led is on when I plug it.. what part could be faulty?
Some laptops will not turn on without the battery installed. It depends on the model. Does the battery hold a charge? Sometimes repeated 1 1 blinking can mean the battery or the charger is faulty.
LED code 1 4 is a bad coin cell battery or CMOS battery. Most common reason for this error is your laptop is not charging correctly causing the problems with the CMOS battery or the CMOS battery needs to be replaced.
