      usefull for getting the feel of a movement but useless for achieving such movement, trust me, i did resistance bands for frontlever i got to the weakest band like 10lb resistance full front lever, so i try front lever with nothing, not even close, (bare in mind with the band i do both on feet and under the ass) so i tought hmmm i'll try front lever straddle, again, not even close, I thought what's going on? surely i should be able to do straddle, okay 1 leg front lever, again not even fuckingclose, Eventually i got to advanced tuck front lever, got 5 seconds and dropped lol, never progressing with bands again, they're useless. they make it very easy for your back muscles automatically pushing you back so you don't really need to activate your shoulders and retract much, that was the problem, my hips are very strong and glutes lats also, but the mid back and shoulder area for it, was weak as fuck. also doing front lever on the dip bar is really easy compared to the high bar also when talking about scapula and shoulders, just to warn you.

      @@yungthug2403 great tips bro, any other tips/videos you can recommend? You seem to know your stuff

    • @yungthug2403
      @yungthug2403 3 года назад

      Tier 4 depends on your level, but I recommend having a high bar, go into a dead hang, then active hang, then retract your scapula and pull back like you’re doing the motion for a lat pull down, always straight arms, I really recommend you do this no matter what level you are, if it becomes easy, add weights to it, this should be the foundation of your front lever training and for your lower half, your core, I recommend doing dragon flags, you can start off in a tuck dragon flag and then work your way up, for that glute and core strength you can do these for reps, you can do them for holds, pumps too

    • @yungthug2403
      @yungthug2403 3 года назад

      Tier 4 this shit will help your pull ups too, it did me, I was flying above the bar after a month of doing this, smashing my chest on the bar like it was nothing for the first 10 reps, I feel pull ups miss some of the important back muscles, this exercise I told you, helps those muscles and in turn those muscles help you with most pulling exercises

    Handstand pushups can be done comfortably with the use of two bands. First you must put the top of the pull up bar, so it hangs vertically, then you pull the second band through the hanging band (horizontally) put each loop of the horizontal band over your arms like a back pack. (so you have one band running across your back over each arm and in the middle of that you have the vertical band attached to it). Then simply kick up into a hand stand. You can wrap your feet around the vertical band for stability if you need, but the more the resistance on the vertical band, the more assistance it will give you pushing up in the hand stand. Hope this makes sense.

    This is a great video, and I'm glad that bands are making their way into training for the harder calisthenics skills. There is a huge difference in training the planche when you're actually getting into this position, and doing this method with progressively weaker bands eventually enabled me to get the straddle planche after a couple of years of mostly stalled progress.

    I've never even considered using bands before I saw your video. My bands (the ones you are using here) came in today. I am so impressed with the assistance they provide and with all the other "band only" exercises I can do with them. This vid may have actually changed my life:) Its the best band assist vid I've found on RUclips, thanks again for making this.

    I like your honesty! To admit (unlike many other channels) that some things either look stupid, is hard/require years of experience before, is really comforting for someone like me. I wasn't a complete noob regarding working out when I started calisthenics September last year, but being female, I just don't have the hormonal support to progress fast. With steady work and some help, I'll get there some day :)
    Thank you for your work!

    So glad I found this channel. Started callisthenics about 2 weeks ago because the channel's content is so rich! My newbie gains are kicking in, everyday I feel better about myself, stronger and more bulky actually! Every workout I feel I can do more and more of the same exercises. When I started I couldn't do 1 pike push-up... Today I tried it again out of curiosity and did 10 in a row! It's the little things that keep me going.
    Please keep making more videos, sometimes I just rewatch a bunch of them to motivate me. Seriously thank you! In a sea of channels of people telling what you should do, I just find yours simply comforting, motivational and, in contrast with other, "real".
    P.S.: Just wondering how much time did the L-sit took you to do? (first skill I'm trying to master!)

    There's another way to use elastic bands to do HSPU.
    You need 2 elastic bands. The first one is attached to the pull up bar with a prussik knot, the second one goes through the first one (it makes some kind of harness) you put one arm in the loop which hangs to the right side and the other arm in the loop hanging to the left side.

    Hey Dave!
    As always, great video :) very useful one, because I think a lot of people overlook at resistant bands once they get their first pull-ups and muscle ups :)
    Another way you could use them for one arm pull ups is just hanging then at the bar, grabbing it with one arm and doing your pull-up with the other arm on the bar. The higher you grab the band the harder it gets. But I had the same issue as you while putting my feet in the band, so I'll definitely give your idea a try! :)
