New evacuations have been ordered as the Palisades fires expanded east quickly, prompting emergency officials to expand mandatory evacuation orders to Brentwood, including the Getty Center. Like the nearby Pacific Palisades, Brentwood is among the most affluent Los Angeles neighborhoods. A forecast for more strong winds is raising fears that the blazes could spread further. Authorities have confirmed at least 24 deaths, with 16 from the Eaton Fire and eight in Palisades.
