- Let's see where every Forward Smash in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate originated from and compare them to their Smash counterpart. Moves that have no origin were left out of the video.

Something funny about Charizard’s Forward Smash is that it’s officially known as Headlong Rush, which Pokémon fans would know is actually a new move that was added in Legends: Arceus, meaning that Charizard was using Headlong Rush in Smash before any Pokémon in the main series. However, Charizard can’t even learn Headlong Rush in the official games, despite him being able to learn moves like Bulldoze and Earthquake, which are also Ground-Type moves.
Give it time. Charizard is not in Legends Arceus and not natively available in Scarlet and Violet. Only two Pokémon were given the move in LA and two others in SV.
It could easily become a tutor move in the Scarlet and Violet DLC that Charizard can learn.

Why was Kazuya's skipped out? All his moves in Smash outside of his pummel and his Up B have definitive origins. For his case, Glorious Demon God Fist originated from Tekken Tag Tournament, specifically

My favorite forward smash is Robin's!
Link's Sword Beam first manifested as a spinning wave of energy in A Link to the Past. Before that, they either looked like the sword it's fired from or took a slender beam-like shape.
Also, are you sure Pikachu/Pichu's fsmash aren't more closely related to Spark rather than Thunder Shock? Spark is a more direct attack and is much stronger... plus, the fsmash looks like a large spark.
The first thing is because of the evolution of the Master Sword: It used to launch waves of energy as Beams, but then it changed to be copies of the sword, multiplied by the strength of the bearer. That evolution only happens in one timeline, so it's not canon at all, but anyways
Byleth's f-smash, specifically, is almost a direct copy of Dimitri's close-range counterattack crit animation when in any class *other than* Great Lord or High Lord
All the characters who aren’t in this video don’t have a forward Smash with an original. It’s notably the case of Fox, which we (almost) never seen outside of a vehicle in his home series.

In the first Fire Emblem Marth has literally his forward smash when he attacks. He walks into the enemy and does the move when does critical
Charizards headbutt looks kinda like dragon claw in SBU

Hey but Mario obtained IS forward Smash in melee release in 2002 but Mario and Luigi superstar saga was release in 2003 so there IS a problème

The forward smashes for Mario, Donkey Kong, Pit, & Dark Pit appeared in SSBM & SSBB before appearing in any of their own games

Slapshot. It's actually his side tilt and his basic finisher in Kingdom Hearts 1 more closely resembles his F smash, even though it's already in his jab string

Since Ivysaur and Charizard can only learn Headbutt since gen 2, wouldn't it be more appropriate to show footage from a gen 2 game? Yes, you can transfer them back to gen 1 with the move learned, but until gen 2, that move was unavilable for them

@@astralshadow6193 Eh technically (☝️🤓) Water Gun is the name of his neutral special. His forward smash is "Water Smash" which is not a pokemon move. And I can't think of a pokemon move that is similar to a "water smash."
