    Hi Seth I have the akasha 1, it's a tank of a shoe but doesn't feel heavy , as for the mid sole I find in hot weather it softens up real nice and you do get some nice bounce then in the cold weather its firmer for sure but that then gives you better traction in the snow and mud,
    la sportiva have a great recycle policy using the materials from old
    shoes to make the new ones.

    Over the last two months I’ve put 500 miles of mountain running into the La Sportiva Akasha 2. Surprisingly, I have to say that on varied and technical terrain my legs feel fresher and better after running in this shoe than in something less firm and more cushioned such as the Hoka Speedgoat. No blisters, great traction and durability. They have been my go to for multiple 30 mile runs. I’m starting to get a better sense for what a good shoe looks like for mountain running not just once a week, but every day. It’s very rare to find a trail shoe that has ground feel, protection, and precision all in one. The incredible durability is just icing on the cake.

    • @JamesGoodrich7
      @JamesGoodrich7 Месяц назад

      @@zacharygarner9425 would this be a good shoe for a 200 mile race in Colorado? My main concern is there is a decent amount of fire roads mixed in with technical Rocky trails. Will this shoe be too clunky on fire, (dirt), roads? Thank you

    • @zacharygarner9425
      @zacharygarner9425 28 дней назад +1

      @@JamesGoodrich7Probably not. I’ve run up to 50k in these many times, but they won’t really shine without mostly constant single track. I would personally go for the asics trabuco max or now the nike zegama 2. Those shoes will start to shine later on. I’ve run a 100 mile in the trabuco max 2 and it was great. The 3 seems to have a higher volume and softer upper up front

    This are the best. I got a pair a couple of years ago and me and my husband now have these as our favourite shoes. They're doing something right - we both have narrow feet with toes that flay out quite a bit. I barely run but walk everywhere in these and they've saved me from tendonitis. My husband competitively runs and has tried every brand and for him this is also number 1. Compared to Asics, they last longer, look nicer and are perhaps stiffer. I feel the construction is 100% better than any other training shoe I've ever bought and they feel more solid. I'm paranoid they're going to change the design as these shoes are 'it' for us.

    I have the Akasha 1 and love it. When I just want to go have an enjoyable run in the mountains the Akasha is always the shoe I pick. It never let's me down no matter the terrain and I never miss the max cushion of some of my other shoes.

    The durability is high in La Sportiva shoes as they're made for very rocky Italian alps - those rocks crew up shoes. I've been a Akasha wearer for years - the hundred mile mountain shoe of choice for so many.

To top it off I was shocked to see "Andy Wacker" from Boulder Colorado racing the Marathon, someone who you have duked it out with in the mountains! I noticed he was racing in a Solomon singlet, wearing the Solomon S LAB Phantasm. Made me wonder if he is now sponsored by Solomon.

    You get the outsole worn out way earlier than uppers. 1000km? yes. 1000 miles? no. But i guess the fact that im between 95 and 100 kilo affects it.

    How would this be for long distance backpacking - Which would you choose from La Sportivas' low cut trail shoes.
    I hike on compact trails, soft sections and a lot of rocky (wet) trails - from Canadian Rockies.

    I picked up a pair a few weeks ago, I feel locked in and the outsole is great on the more technical stuff. It feels very well built, I was hoping it would go strong past 500 but you've now raised my expectations on that! One thing I would say is that you'll likely need to go up a size (I was told this is common for La Sportiva?). I've also heard that La Sportiva is no longer making the Akasha but there are still places who have stock of it, who knows if we'll get a version 3 in the future.

    LA Sportiva have been my best climbing shoes but never purchased a running shoe from them. Might consider these for shorter mountain runs here in Cape Town. 10k with 1000m elevation gain is an average morning run. I'm not sure if it's the rock or if I just pound shoes but on average I'm getting about half the mileage out of a shoe than I see in the reviews.. costly affair

    I own the Akasha I, and I would absolutely disagree with the outsold longevity. With normal trail (non rocky) / everyday use, the Friction outsole is just about bald. It's a soft, sticky rubber composite which grips very well, but the longevity of that material is dismal. I think your 1000+ mileage is going to be way, way off. Good luck.
