I don't know if you know this but the meat and dairy industry produces more greenhouse gas emissions than cars, planes and trains combined. So one way (if you don't already) to help the environment is to go vegetarian or vegan. Also to buy vegan alternatives instead of leather. For example shoes: both vans and docs have a vegan selection.

And it's just 12 years so going vegan isn't as fruitful as stopping gas emissions and not using oil derivatives for energy. For the long term, going vegan might be good but in the short term, all the other steps are necessary. Also planting as many trees as we can. Thing is though, it's put of our control because a lot of the damage comes from governments and rich guys not the common man.

I mean the word has been through the ice age and the dinosaurs and what ever the fuck else that we probably don’t know about, now we’re a lot more civilised even though we have the tools to make the world that little bit shitter with pollution and global warming you’ve just got to walk down the road to see beautiful things, like birds, trees, flowers and there are still many many lovely parts of the earth and people tend to look at all the things we’re doing wrong instead of right, I mean we could have gotten up to this point and ALL be at war, all killing all the beauty in the world but no most of us appreciate it, I mean obviously some parts of the world are completely fucked but the majority of places you will visit you are more likely to notice that one plastic bottle in the water that all the gorgeous things around you, i personally think that we do need to buckle down and fix all these shitty things that were doing to the world but I don’t think we have 12 years left, not after the amount of time the world has been around which is probably a lot longer than we think

After hearing the affects that climate change has on human anatomy, i decided to do my research and found that it also affects periods. The weather and pollution can cause hormonal changes in women, causing our periods to become irregular and worse, which calls for more embarrasing moments... now we ALL have excuses to care about climate change besides the fact that it's slowly destroying our planet.

It outlived the dinosaurs, the megafauna, the Ice Age, and thousands of other species. It's outlived natural disasters that wiped out human civilisations. This climate crisis won't kill the planet. The planet will eventually recover and develop life again, as it has done many times before -- but not before losing everything that makes it habitable for us. This isn't a battle for the planet, the planet isn't a sentient being that cares about us, and it will live on without us in it; this is a battle for humanity, and preserving a home that can keep us safe in it.

In countries like Finland and Sweden when you return bottles you get some money back. It motivates people to recycle them and so less plastic ends up in the sea. Turn off any electrical things you aren't using, know that TV with the red LED shining. That is using electricity. Turn it off by the plug.
A 5 minute drive, do a 15 minute walk instead.
Don't use lights when the room has a window and it's day time.
Don't use the AC, open the window.
Use the pavement, don't walk on grass just cause it's a bit shorter.
If you plan to put up a christmas tree every year buy a plastic tree(counterintuitive I know but there is a reason). If you plan to only do it once every few years buy a real tree.
Don't go on the cheapest tour of an environment, make sure it helps wildlife and tried to making sure we don't affect it while trying to have a good time.
Don't take a sea trip to the arctic, it's dying as quick as it is.
    Use Ecosia not Google.
Put the recyclable things in the recycling bin.
If you need to get somewhere far take a bus or tram unless you're in London then you're breaking the bank.
Donate some money to charities that plant trees.
Read a book... this might shock you,
FROM A BOOK, don't do it on the internet cause you're pro-net.

I only mentioned this because it helps it a little bit. Also I think you completely ignored the majority of it. Most of the things I listed had nothing to do with shopping.

      @@Sof93 Are you sure?
The reason why I said if you're only getting a christmas trees every year it would be better to get a plastic one because if real trees were in high demand transportation would produce a lot of carbon. The tree itself is way healthier than plastic trees and their manufacture but it's the added up transportation every year. Also some people dispose of real trees in a bad way like burning it. But it is highly debatable. So I could be wrong.

As it stands, of all the land on Earth, 27% is taken up by animal agriculture. That is more than all forests (26%) and much more than urban areas (1%).
When we include crops, around one third of all land is used for farming.
In the UK, the situation is even worse. We have around 13% forest cover, whereas around 64% of our country is farmland. In the time since humans have been on these islands, we've killed off wolves, bears, lynxes, beavers, aurochs, and many other animals, and many current species are at low numbers. There are about 4,000 pine martens and 600 ospreys in the whole UK. Compare native wildlife to farm animal populations. Over one hundred million chickens at any given time; 66 million humans; 23 million sheep... and maybe 2 million deer, a few hundred thousand badgers and foxes.
Now, look at the oceans. In the Great Pacific Garbage Patch, 46% is fishing nets, and most of the rest is discarded fishing gear. Domestic plastic waste is NOT the main contributor. It is a problem, but the fishing industry is a bigger problem.
Nationally and internationally, the major solution to deforestation, species extinctions, climate change, plastic pollution, and other issues is to turn farmland back into forests and to stop throwing harmful things such as plastic into our oceans. We need to eat less meat and fish.

    • @daisyyates1302
      @daisyyates1302 5 лет назад

      @@daisyyates1302
I'm quite sure it would be more than tens of millions of workers on a global scale who would lose their fishing jobs if we all cut down on fish consumption. Of course, the world won't stop eating fish over night, and fishing jobs aren't immediately threatened by such behaviour. If we all do see what needs to happen, it will take time, and economies will adjust accordingly, if history is any indication.
Also, how likely is it that machines won't continue to take over jobs in such areas over the next few decades anyway? What is it that men netting fish can do that a well-designed robot won't be able to do more efficiently? The businesses behind industrial fishing will continue to industrialise, and jobs will be threatened either way.
And in the most extreme case: jobs are important, but the health of the global ecosystem is much more so. Most countries today excuse a lack of progress in environmental protection with "But the economy will suffer", apparently failing to see that the economy will be entirely meaningless in a few decades if the worst that is being predicted -- or even half of it -- comes to pass.

There are hundreds of species on the brink of extinction yet thats not talked about much, and any animals that do go extinct due to global warming will merely be replaced by something else.
The planet itself is in absolutely no danger, the idea that humans has any substantial effect on it is ludicrously overestimating the current capabilities of humans.
To reiterate, the issue is it’s going to kill and otherwise negatively impact a lot of humans, that’s why it’s blown up so much. Not because of some sense of responsibility for our actions, but because we are directly in the line of fire.
