Romantic or not Carol and Daryl are the soulmates on the show. If one dies it will destroy the other. They always seem to find their way back to each other.
+Natalie S. I was thinking that very thing too. If either one is killed off in series 6 then it will kill them. Daryl rode his bike through the burnt forest etc and all he could think about is getting back on track and home.

Daryl is so in love with Carol. He saw the Alexandria sign that read "A New Start" & it reminded him of telling Carol "Let's Start Over. He wants so desperately to get back to the ASZ to make sure she's ok. And in a burnt out forest, he sees the Cherokee rose growing out of the moss-covered walker he killed & saw it as a sign that he & Carol are not ashes, something he also told her! Carol is always with him even when they're apart. She's on his mind & in his heart. That's love, baby! Yayy Daryl has finally found love & it's with his soul mate & very best friend in the world ...his Carol.❤️

If you guys watch some of Norman Reedus' interviews he says how much Daryl cares for Carol and how he will always protect her and that they are so bloody close because they understand each others pain,
they are the sweetest, most cutest and most realist ship i have ever sailed.
In almost every interview to do with Daryl, Norman talks about Melissa's character carol.

amie taylor I am very frustrated with Norman for actively trolling Beth and Daryl. There was nothing other than surrogate parent with them. The getting fans all worked up has created some ugly situations. That said, I think he ships Daryl with Daryl-he loves the attention. Not an awful thing but it has helped fuel hard feels in fans

+Nicola Lawson Exactly. he's so caught up in the emotion that she's not in his imagination. He loves her. I think he loved her the moment she lost Ed. although Ed was an asshole husband, she did love him.

I just want to say, to everyone who's saying there's nothing intimate between them, you're right. But here's the thing, Norman has said too many times to count that if Daryl does end up liking a girl it will be very awkward to begin with bc he wants to play Daryl off as having "no game." Also, he said that a relationship between Daryl and anyone else would require a large build up and even then the girl would have to make the first move. So yes, while there's no current "intimacy" between Daryl and Carol, there is a lot of awkwardness and nervousness, which means they're going through that beginning phase and considering how they've been developing since season two, it's not going to be too much longer till they're canon and you won't be able to convince me otherwise.

WinterAwesomeness On that, many argued (during the latter Bethyl phase) that it didn't take nearly as long for Daryl to "fall for young, hot Beth, now that Carol was gone". Shedding some light on that Hater phase (though only partially relevant) Daryl didn't exactly fall for Beth. They connected somewhat, on an emotional child level, during their time alone on the road, but that was very brief. From the start, Daryl's heart has always been for or with Carol. And that secret attraction... was way more than obvious. Fans started shipping them during Season 2... and it literally exploded there-on. No man behaves around a woman, the way Daryl has with lovely Carol, to not have hidden or unrevealed feels for her. And Carol has never made her move just yet, out of respect for Daryl's past and his emotionally confused nature. As NR has stated numerous times: "Two lost, damaged souls who gravitate toward each other". Many hopeful Shippers grew quite disappointed last season, when nothing romantic occurred during their journey of rescuing Beth from the hospital. Um, no...They were on a mission. And Carol was still dazed from earlier traumatic events... prior to their breathtaking reunion later.
The shy awkwardness, sexual tension, and boyish nervousness continues (more with Daryl's end) ...

Carol and Daryl are definitely soul mates. The show only paired him with Beth to get her noticed after being in the background for years.
Yeah & it was innocent platonic connection & the Bethylers created the crackship making themselves look like sick perverts to the rest of the fandom.

This ship sails itself
...finally, someone has done a compilation of the many countless reasons why Daryl and Carol (should) and for all intensive purposes are together. They have a relationship that is all their own, and it transcends description. No words can even begin to describe the depth of feeling these two have for each other. It is theirs and theirs alone to share. My chest felt so tight, it was literally hard to breathe. Thank you for capturing each and every poignant moment, The emotional journey you took us on, along with the dialogue was so gut wrenching beautiful. Well done. Kudos to the time it took to create a masterpiece.

completely agree, it is there hidden or silent relationship that is so beautiful. It really wasn't until Carol reached out to Daryl and befriended him that we saw Daryl transform because he realized someone cared for him. Without Carol we really wouldn't have the Daryl everyone loves because she brought him to see that he cared about her and Sophia and ultimately that he needed the group. Without Carol bringing him back he probably would have went off looking for Meryl and ended up like him. She saved him and he saved her as well.
Isabel v I completely agree w/ you... and Rick helped in some ways too... but not as much as Carol did. Okay... don't shoot me for saying this. I do love their relationship but I don't think it'll ever be romantic. I think that they're two people who are very in tune with each other and what the other needs. They absolutely care for each other and are definitely one of the best relationships on the show. The way he ran to her and hugged her said it all really. He was more like a lost little boy who found his big loving and caring sister.
Tammi Tuthill agree in some ways with your comment,but I am still a Carol and Daryl shipper at heart and will always be but I can live with them just being friends. Though they are much closer than the other friend relationships on the show. I sometimes wonder what would have happened if Sophia survived and if Daryl would have stepped in as a father figure because he truly did care for her and Carol's well-being. I definitely do not think of them as a brother-sister relationship, maybe at most a very friendly platonic one. But I would definitely love to see along with all shippers some kind of sign from the show on where they are going with them. Either drown the ship or let it sail.
Tammi Tuthill Their beautiful relationship absolutely is soul mate quality. However I do partially agree with you about its overall nature. Sadly due Daryl's continued emotional inadequacy, his ongoing man-child personality forever challenges or even backslides any possibility of things ever moving forward with Carol (though they are perfectly matched), Shoot ....consider, he almost fell for young Beth (with Carol gone/missing). Carol had told him in "Consumed" that for a long time he was like a kid... but now he was more a man. If only the man part could stick around...
Due, Daryl's emotional setback, non-shippers will forever see them as a mother/child relationship. However, they indeed are best friends (same as Rick/Michonne) who forever get 'interrupted' by situations or circumstances.
I love the scenes where they find the mother and child Walkers in the women's shelter and she can't bring herself to kill them. She wakes up to find that he's done it for her and the look on her face is just amazing.

Reason 200...they are both trying! Season 5 gave us lots more reasons!!! "Consumed" alone gave us more than 50 reasons easily! He doesn't let her handle crap on her own, he's interested what she thinks of him, he wants to be a man for her, he reassures her, he flirts with her, he tries to cheer her up, he worries about her, he cries for her, he'll kill for her, he won't accept her leaving him, he insists she drink, eat, sleep, etc etc etc! The man loves her with everything he is! Love these 2 with all my heart! They are everything a good relationship is. They have the strongest & healthiest relationship out of everyone & need to take it even further. I know it's gonna happen eventually but I hope it's soon. Enough of the "slow-grow". We need this to happen ASAP!!!! I can't wait much longer!!!!

Every Caryl shipper everywhere needs to watch this video, along with any other shipper because the relationship between these people is so perfect. Even if they never get together romantically (FINGERS CROSSED THEY DO!), there is no denying that they can't live without each other and would do anything for each other.
I really love Daryl and Carol. Every time I am watching The Walking Dead I always hoping to see them together and seeing them together really makes my day! :)
I have shipped them since Season 2, since after Sophie went missing... and then later discovered at Hershel's barn. Just the way Daryl caught Carol in his arms as she ran toward her lost daughter. And then fell to the ground with Carol, and held onto her, comforting her during her grief. They've looked out for each other, since. Carol was his encouragement, Daryl was her strength - until she could find her own. They have each other's back, and yes they do love each other deeply. A respectful, deep emotional bonded love. Fans hoped they would Canon during S-5, but other events took place. Though they keep getting "interrupted" perhaps there is romantic hope for them yet
You forgot, He Complements her. Her cooking at the prison "Smells good" & her good shooting when they came down from the watch tower after they cleared the prison & her even saving them all at Terminus all by herself.

You need to add the way she looks at his crossbow when she finds it at Terminus, like it's him; that she can't bear to see him cry, when Beth is killed; that he knows her touch without even seeing her, also when Beth is killed; and finally from Beth's death, her touch calms him (he drops his arm almost the second she touches him and allows her to pull him away). Also he panics when he loses her, from Consumed.

You know...I don't ship, but Carol is my second favorite character after Rick Grimes, so I want more storylines for her so I wouldn't mind something between the two because they already have a mutual understanding and love for each other. Also, it would be nice if the writers did that just to rub it in the face of the annoying Bethylers who wanted the show to be assassinated with their Twilight-like ship. I'm not expecting much just yet, but even a light kiss or a kiss on the cheek would be enough. Plus they have an amazing chemistry and she gave him the line that changed his character "every bit as good as Rick and Shane" rather than all the cliche "It wouldn't kill ya to have a little faith" - what fairytale did Beth get that from?

I would like to see these two come together but, so far, seeing more a friendship (and not even that) I've read the actor who plays Daryl doesn't want them to get together...but many times do that to throw everyone off. It will be a shame if the writers don't even play more with the idea.

Thank you for this video! So beautiful. I enjoyed it as much as I have enjoyed watching Daryl and Carol's friendship/relationship develop steadily over the last 4 1/2 seasons. They are two of the most interesting characters to watch on the show. Their transformations have been profound and yet they still have way more to grow. The way they communicate in the silences takes my breath away.
