- This is just a special video I made for all the Donnie fans (myself included)! I think they have some of the best chemistry to ever grace the show and I can only hope their relationship will eventually blossom into something more.

It is easy to forget that Daryl is a lot older then he looks.
Carol is actually much closer in age, but I always felt that the attraction was one sided.
She clearly wouldn't mind going physical with him, but Daryl is rather clueless when it comes to romance.
Connie is perfect for him, not too young and not too old, and she knows how to handle silent.

He just groans. When he told Connie about his brother that was the first time in a long time that I heard Daryl actually talking.
Pretty sure that Carol was designed as a person that makes him more social but is nothing more than a friend. She dated Tobin and married Ezekiel while Daryl doesn't mind it at all. He had a rather quick connection with Connie
wtf deserved more than her? Since when she is not enough? Connie is new comfort character, but it was Carol who was brining out the best of Daryl since the beginning. She helped became the person he is now, she saw the goodness in him.

He tried to run after the car to help Beth. He searched for days and almost died to find Sophia. He searched for Rick. He moved 5 rocks for Connie, literally about 5 small rocks. Daryl does these things for friends. After that he forgot all about Connie. He hasn't gone back out to try to find her. He doesn't even mention her. He STILL wants to leave for New Mexico with Carol. After the herd went over the cliff he asked Carol to leave AGAIN. It's CAROL who said they needed to stay for awhile 'cause they still have things to do. He wants to go NOW with NO intention of staying around for Connie.

There is a whole community of adults and children he has to protect that doesn’t really have a leader so it had to be him and he had to be the one to step up and take charge. So what could be the difference of his “friendly” treatment with Carol, with how he treated those others you mentioned? It’s the same with Connie, I get it. I ship it so hard!!! As much as I love Carol, I think that these two have much more of an interesting mix. I love her teaching him ASL. My headcanon is that originally he befriended her because he thought he wouldn't have to talk to her, but then she made him open up in a completely different way that caught him off guard.

theyre both different in many ways too. she can teach him new things and shes not afraid to challenge a plan of his. And he doesnt get angry that she does. he has a huge amount of respect for her and her, him. with the carol and daryl ship, they're just too much alike. they showed us that in the extra episodes of season 10. they both ran from issues, leaving loved once behind for a while. daryl realized how unhealthy that way of doing things is and carol is trying but still has trouble with it. they're too similar. they butt heads A LOT. she hurts him sometimes, even if it's never been intentionally. also so many people think that since the show showed parallels between daryls moments with leah and his moments with carol then that means he'll be with carol since he was with leah. I don't think thats the case. they have parallels but leah turned out to be apart of a bad group AND she made him choose between family and her. And the second he said he wasnt sure then she was out. it wasnt a healthy relationship. just like it wouldnt be a healthy one with carol.

I am really happy that he finally found someone like Connie and I really think they are the perfect pair or duo. They have almost the same qualities together and helped each other most of the time. Especially when they saw the good in each other. I was broken when Beth was killed since she saw the good in Daryl and brought out the best and worst from him and Daryl saw something in her too then he felt so heartbroken when he saw Beth died infront of him. When Connie came along, I am happy that Daryl finally saw someone who almost have the same qualities as Beth. Makes me wonder when Daryl was desperately trying to push the boulders to get Connie , was it because he didnt want to lose Connie just like he lost Beth? Maybe her personality kinda reminded him of Beth, thats why he cared so much and tried to make sure that she is alive this time? Possibly he just dont want to lose anymore people that he cared about. He stopped pretending as if he didnt give a crap about anything just like Beth said and it is well shown here
I also interpret that this is how Beth affected Daryl's subconscious in terms of romance. Damn I really love Bethyl too, and I am happy they introduced Connie as someone whose personality resembles that of Beth- truly beautiful inside anf out. 🤍

Connie could never 👎 compare.The beauty that was Bethyl. 🥰the tender awkwardness and sweet innocence of both Beth and Daryl sexual innocence was what made there connection so magical ✨ because it was spiritual, they emotionally completed each other. It was beautiful cause how sensitive and nurturing it was. Beth is everything Daryl needs in a partner emotionally 🖤 she's an open book 📖 who wears her heart 💖 on her sleeve she's completely honest where she stands emotionally. She the only one compatible to deal with a emotionally dysfunctional and stunted Daryl Dixon. She was the only one capable of teaching Daryl how to survive with his humanity. Cause there soulmates. And without her he's completely regressed into state of deep depression There 20 year age gap never 👎 come across as predatory. It was cute ☺️ delicate with Daryl past abuse emotionally and mentally stunting him, he's underdeveloped and is basically the same age mentally as Beth it's a case of Chronology .vs. Biology 🧬 what indicates maturity? Daryl has never experience romantic or intimate relationship. So it was never a case of a older man taken advantage of a younger girl when there both equally inexperienced and on there journey of discovery together. And it's clear he's not having random hook ups, the guy doesn't even like to be touched. he has no experience or awareness of physical intimacy or how to deal with it. it said it all when Beth hugged him season 4 episode 1. And its evident Beth would taking the lead on all physical intimacy's in the begging.
if Daryl has experience something sexual it was probably something traumatic
like one of his dad's hooker girlfriend molesting him as a child. Some perverted friend of his dad who like to touch little boys. Or Merle forcing pressuring or drugging him into something he didn't really want. Merle idea of helping is pretty much abuse. Daryl in those two episode STILL and ALONE proved he's the type of soul that seeks emotional connection in order to feel comfortable enough to explore physical pleasure and Beth's the same, personality wise there complete opposite but emotionally/spiritually there the same. They seek deeper connects to evolve intimately, they both established there not there siblings Daryl isn't Merle and Beth isn't Maggie there not a free with there bodies cause there different people.
Daryl wouldn't initiate physical contact with other characters not until after his character development with Beth he huge Carol and puts his head on her shoulder when they reunite. When other character like Carol or Rick try to touch Daryl they always did cautiously like approaching a wild animal. Beth bulldozes over his boundaries and his force field.
