I just remembered in season 1 how racist Merle was against T-dog, you clearly see that from that moment on nothing has ever been mentioned about it, and that's something I appreciate so much. Beth was 16 when we first saw her, 18 when she died (I think). I don’t think they were in love, they were just all they had at that moment and became good friends. Daryl realized that she wasn’t as weak and helpless as he thought and everything from there is history.

That argument of age don’t matter cause it’s the apocalypse will never sit right to me. Especially when it comes to Daryl. The way I see it, Daryl and Beth were never supposed to be romantic.
Daryl wasn’t in love with Beth at all, he saw her as a sister 100%. Age definitely matters in the apocalypse, I’m mean even in season 3 carol stopped the one inmate with the mustache from talking to Beth because of her age. Daryls a good guy and that age law still matters in the apocalypse, so Daryl didn’t see her as a love interest but rather a young sisterly figure.

The way I see it, Daryl and Beth were never supposed to be romantic.
Daryl wasn’t in love with Beth at all, he saw her as a sister 100%. Age definitely matters in the apocalypse, I’m mean even in season 3 carol stopped the one inmate with the mustache from talking to Beth because of her age. Daryls a good guy and that age law still matters in the apocalypse, so Daryl didn’t see her as a love interest but rather a young sisterly figure.

Nothing is clear untill he reunites with Connie, then we will see who ends up with him, Leah or Connie.
