I looked at the Wikipedia article on her. She, #1, comes from a show biz family as her mother is Blythe Danner and her father is director, Bruce Paltrow. There is a relative, also, who was an opera singer. Apparently, she had some theater training, and started performing early. I imagine that she had voice lessons and dancing lessons, among other things. Glee did a performance of "Singing in the Rain" where she danced with Matthew Morrison, etc.
