    Great review on the H Plus, I have had the H for nearly 2 years! About a year ago I had to get a Phantom 4 Pro due to Yuneec dropping the ball with the new at the time with the H520. I, as many other devoted Yuneec Typhoon H pilots were hugely disappointed as the E90 would not be available to the original H. I love flying the H compared to the P4P, but the camera quality was amazing compared to the older CGO3+ and the colours from the sensor were easier to match in post production.
    Looks like my next drone will be the H Plus as the H is very quiet compared to the phantom and the Plus will be even quieter! Using drones for Real Estate Photos and Video noise is an important factor, the less attention you get the easier my job is :)
    Plus when people see a Typhoon H compared to a Phantom they seem very excited to ask me about it lol :)
    Once again great review and looking forward to more!

      Sounds about like my experience. When the 520 flopped I was very tempted to get a P4P but waited and got the best of both worlds and couldn't be happier - a Superb Flyer, A fantastic camera (as long as you use the DNG's or video) and in general; an aircraft and controller layout that is about as close to perfect as can be. I also use do Real Estate Photography and the Typhoon just fits the bill.

      Since my last post I bought an H Plus. Still DNG files are better than the P4P! Corner to corner sharpness and very detailed. Video is on par with P4P but the Plus is a better bird to fly so now I’m selling my P4P :-)

    Looks pretty good but the proof is how good is in that camera, it would have been nice to see the unedited dng files. i'm looking for what the camera does to the horizon. The Typhoon H's camera specifically is a major week point for any serious photographer. One item is the horizon is often curved and difficult to deal with in post. How is the Plus in this area?

    • @buelle109
      @buelle109  5 лет назад +1

      The Plus is significantly better than the standard Typhoon H in terms of lens distortion and is heads and shoulders above it in terms of image quality and depth. I have been doing real estate photography with the Typhoons for a little over 2 and a half years and while the Standard H was 'okay' the Plus can deliver imagery that will rival some DSLRs if you are using the DNGs and proper technique. I will say that there is still a slight amount of horizon curve at the edges when the camera is tilted down but this can usually be fixed in post either by the use of filters or a simple crop.

    I believe you have an RS model, so I'm hoping you will do an in-depth vid of the RealSense in operation. One thing on the Plus I personally don't like is the small print in the top right panel of info (yep, old eyes, lol).
    We see the batteries and charger are identical to the H520.

    • @buelle109
      @buelle109  6 лет назад

      Yes I have the RS version. Originally I was going to wait for the non-RS Plus as I normally would not use it but now that I have it I will delve into it a little more. Correct on the Batteries - they are the same as the 520 and even though they do not have it printed anywhere on the battery they are indeed LiHV, not regular LiPo's

    Does it have the same shutter lag as the standard H when shooting stills? I have found the best results by shooting video at 4K and using software to extract stills from the video file. I am still learning to handle the H properly, so I don't plan to upgrade any time soon. I do like the look of the Plus, though.

    Did you mention the extended flying time on the Plus compared to the older H , 28mins as opposed to 18 mins .
    An important improvement .

    • @buelle109
      @buelle109  5 лет назад

      I did not mention anything about flight times and while I am getting slightly longer flights out of the Plus, the time difference (when batteries are new) is only about a minute or two. So I can get 17-18 minutes on a new Typhoon (LiPo) battery in a 480, and on the Plus with a new (LiHV) battery you can squeeze maybe 19 minutes out. However, there is a steep downside as LiHV batteries begin to lose this advantage much quicker. After 50 flights you'll lose a couple minutes and after 100 flights on a Plus battery you'll be lucky to get 13-14 minutes.
      When you figure the higher cost in, this slight advantage for the first thirty flights of an LiHV battery is really not worth it. And on the same note; when I put a standard Typhoon battery in my Plus I can get about the same flight times, but for sure there is nor real flight time advantage for the Plus.

    • @WildPhotoShooter
      @WildPhotoShooter 5 лет назад

      @@buelle109 Thanks for your excellent reviews, actual practical reports is much better than manufacturer claims ( it's a bit like car MPG ) it's very interesting that the flight time is a lot less (eight minutes less) than Yuneec claim for the "plus", and I agree I think the extra cost is not worth paying. I think you have saved me a lot of disappointment.

    • @buelle109
      @buelle109  5 лет назад

      @@WildPhotoShooter Yeah, Yuneec also used to claim the standard H would fly 'Up To' 25 minutes but that is not possible either. The true value of the Plus is the Camera - it is in another league compared to the CG03 and the flying is even better than expected. If you're happy with the CG03 the standard Typhoon is still a good value for sure.

    • @WildPhotoShooter
      @WildPhotoShooter 5 лет назад

      @@buelle109 Do you know if most, or all drones fall short on claimed flight times ? I was also looking at the Mavic2Pro they also claim almost 30 minutes. I haven't looked at any reviews of the Mavic yet. My thinking is that if they all fall short on claimed flight times then it not really a problem buying the Yuneec plus.

    • @buelle109
      @buelle109  5 лет назад

      @@WildPhotoShooter I am not sure about all drones but my guess would be that most over estimate their flight times. For me flight time was a lower priority for the kind of work and even recreational flying I do but I can see how longer flight times may be necessary for other types of flying.

      I Think the Phantom 4 has a very good camera and for a long time, this is what the Typhoon lacked. Now the Plus is on par, and some might say; has a better camera, I will leave that for the experts. The Plus and Phantom 4 are very different, each has advantages over the other. In the end it should come down to which one has the best fit for the end user. Personally, I find the retractable gear and 360 rotating camera to be good for what I do and the flight modes and controller with built in screen have a greater appeal to me.

    Im not a DJI fan boy but wow what has yuneec done.. Its been three years since I saw this competing with the phantom 3. They have achieved very little engineering advancement and for the price, why wouldn't you go for a mavic 2 pro. This didn't even compete with the phantom 4 pro so now its obsolete. Sure camera is good, but you cant take this anywhere. Sad because I liked the type of flying experience yuneec was offering (More RC style controller etc), but they have done nothing..

    • @buelle109
      @buelle109  6 лет назад +1

      Well since no one has answered; let me answer as honestly as I can. What Yuneec has done is; they have taken the layout and platform of the Typhoon H, added a superb camera, added a splendid flight control system - totally different from the 480, added new more powerful and quieter motors that have improved performance across the board, improved flight precision and finally given those of us who like not only; to have those items but also coupled them with a retractable landing gear platform that allows 360 degree camera movement and eventually a team mode that will allow independent flight and camera operators.
      And while I realize that to the non Yuneec flyer it may appear as though nothing has changed; if one only stares at the physical attributes and disregards all of the above, however the same type of view could certainly be laid upon the Phantom Line in a similar way, can it not?
      In the end, I could shoot a video using a Plus, a P4P, and an MP2 and after editing into a final video, most viewers would have a hard time spotting which footage came from what platform. Its not about the platform, its truly is about; what you can do with it.

      Thanks for replying man! Yeah I look I can definitely see some of those points. The footage is really good I must admit, but P4P or M2P is outstanding as well. For me it comes down to portability, practicality and onboard technology. Once you get over the cool factor of a retractable landing gear and multiple props, this product ends up failing all three of those categories. Its loud, big and intrusive to the environment. It's also hard to move around and once you get over the cool controller, the onboard technology this thing has is barebone compared to DJI. Im really sad that they let it go but I mean that's just my opinion and I don't own one - so I cant say for sure.

      Well having flown RC and UAVs for 40 years, including holding waivers for turbine powered flight and aircraft over 55 pounds, I can assure you there is very little cool factor in a consumer drone that sways my decision ;-) the retractable gear allows camera shots that are not possible on fixed gear aircraft, that's all. I get your points and needs, but not everyone's needs are the same. I was real close about six months ago to adding a P4P to my business but I held out for the Plus and I am glad I did. The nanny-ware of the DJI was the deal breaker and the only one mind you. Its a great platform just not what I wanted.
