Hi Just wanted to Let you Knowthat I recede the tray for the ST16s . Now all Ihave to do is wait to here From the Technicans who is working on it waiting for parts anway thanks you very much and Iwill always be Listing to you on these programs.
What camera/cimbal do you have on your Typhoon H? Is it the H+ or reg. H? I have the CG03+, but it doesn't look like the one @1:19. Thanks, excellent video.
Did they make that trans-tray custom for you!? I noticed that your pics are in All the display ad pics & the tray is not listed in their regular products lists!?? Hmmm...You part owner or such??? LOL Thanks & Great Videos/Infos...
Hi Patrick, I just purchased the Typhoon H and have realized, after watching your videos, I have a lot to learn about this drone. Thank you for the videos. This is the first drone I have ever owned. I paid a visit to the copperdawg website to look at the transmitter tray. While I was there, I seen that have a new product for the ST-16 and ST16s transmitters. It's called Steady Drive. Motion and Direction Control. Which is a add on for the joystick controllers. Have you used these? Thoughts?
Hi Jeffery, I am the designer of the Steady Drive and have been using it for over a year now. Here is my most recent video about the Steady Drive. ruclips.net/video/kijaXnittww/видео.html
I am writing to ask a question about the tray you use. I have been listening to your videos regarding the typhoon H pro. I am a photographer I have been shooting for 40 years until saw a drone that takes pictures which is why I purchased the typhoon H pro. After researching on line I stumbled on your video on how to operate a camera drone. I found that these drones are very challenging to fly, but after crashing three drones I finally got the hang of it. I found that it is exciting and easy to control once you get the hang of it. I am really interested in the tray that you use, this is something that I need. Can you tell me how to get one so I can use other things with it. Hope to hear something soon. I am originally from Tampa now living in Pennsylvania..
Above where you see the description of the video - you'll see a "show more" message - click on that and I list links for everything - the tray is from Copperdawg.com but use the link in the description above
Really great info. THat chest protector and vid record attachment look fantastic. I'm new to Typhoon and have a small yard like you show. Your take off looked completely stable and you weren't 25 feet away or have large clearances all round. I'd like to do similar, and wonder if you manual or auto RTH and land. Basically looking for any tips for small yard takeoff/lands? Thx.
Don, I fly in Angle Mode almost exclusively. Smart Mode is where its builds a GEO fence around the controller and has caused many a new pilots to crash due to taking off while standing next to the aircraft. RTH Mode just brings the aircraft back to the controller assuming there was a GPS Lock with the controller before take off - that is a flashing Purple Light with a Intermittent white light.
Great video Pat, thanks for sharing. Question how did you change the ST16 to say Welcome Ty Pilot from the default? Thanks, looking forward to your next video David.
Very helpful and informative! Do you use checklist for flight ops? I am transitioning from fixed wing aircraft (ASEL) to uav's and have always relied on the checklist as a part of the operation.
If you're new to UAV's but have some RC type experience a physical checklist may or may not be necessary. I think it all depends on ones experience. I would certainly suggest a newer pilot use some sort of checklist at first.
Thanks for your response, you do such a good job of video production maybe you should consider a short production on creating a checklist for flight ops. As I stated earlier, I have about 1000 hrs flying commercial (ASEL) airplanes and we use checklists-religiously. I have only about 275 flights total in the Typhoon H and Autel X-star premium since obtaining my 107 certificate and there have been times I wish I had a checklist in hand. Thanks Bob
Another question I have is with the power capabilities of the st16. How long does a full charge last? If you go out with several batteries and plan on doing some long flight days, Can you mount a power block under the st 16 and keep charging on it while in use? Or does the unto need to be off to be charging? Jay curious because I have a few old power blocks that would work perfect for this
The ST 16 battery can last at least through at least four or five flight batteries. Some guys do plug in a power block while flying so you're okay there. I bought a spare ST16 battery and switch out if I am doing a lot of flying.
I see you have a Prop balancer on your table. Do you mind sharing where to located one of these. Or Perhaps I will visit a Hoppy store and see if they have a prop balancer.
Cruise function was enabled in the February 2017 firmware update for the Typhoon H. If you have not got the latest firmware you need to update, otherwise you do have this ability - what happens when you touch a trim tab?
Love your vids. I just bought my first drone and it's the typhoons h pro. I am a commercial tug boat skipper and spend alot of time on the water. I am hoping to be able to start to capture some of the amazing things I see from a drone instead of the tug. I'm doing a lot of reading and research before I give it a go. I plan on alot of practice before I start flying over the boat. Any tips on capturing moving targets like killer whales at sea?
Hey Rob, glad your watching. Sounds like you are approaching this with a lot of thought - good for you. My advise is practice the flying part first, before worrying too much about pics or videos then once you're comfortable and confident with your flying start working on the camera skills. As for moving targets, those will require a little skill and a little luck but with practice you'll be able to get the shot you want.
Rob, you may have to reconsider flying from your tug. All that steel will play havoc with the compass calibration on any UAV. I am afraid you will get a lot of errors if you try to launch from a tug or barge. I hope I am wrong, but even being to close to an automobile will cause some error messages and warnings.
Some of my earlier videos I go through all the different devices I use for my Typhoon and even some of my other recording gear. Starting with this one. ruclips.net/video/iNhv-42werQ/видео.html
i have a Typhoon H with an ST16+ transmitter with 3 antenna, i purchased the Marco Polo water proof tracker that i mounted on the leg (as you did with your float) I also Purchased the FPVLR Long range antenna 3 set. Now according to YUNEEC themself, the 2 cross controllers under the joy sticks, Actually DO NOT DO ANYTHING on the st16+ , ( yet ) they are installed because the ST16, ST16+ transmitters control the Typhoon H480 - TyphooN H480+ - Typhoon H520 - Typhoon H920 TORNADO - they are going to utilize those 2 cross controls along with the unused AUX button, in transforming ST16+ into the ST24 controller, so for the ST16 and the ST16+ those controls do not work, and they dont work on mine either. but again great videos
John, the controller's that come with the Typhoon H series whether the 'Pro' with RealSense or the standard; if using the latest firmware do work as shown in this video. Many think it does not work as it take about 18 point before it moves but it should work on ALL up-to-date Typhoon 480s. It is true the the ST-16s (as comes with the new Typhoon H Plus) does not have this functionality yet but we expect to see it soon.
