- Winston-Salem, NC - Robbie Brewer picked up his first win of the season at Bowman Gray Stadium but not before a half dozen of his competitors crashed in spectacular fashion on the front straight.
The huge pileup on the restart late in the first Sportsman Division race of the night brought out the red flag after the leaders crashed coming to the start finish line.
The 81 car of Zack Clifton got turned into the wall by the 7 car of Dylan Ward and at least four more cars piled in.
The car of Kevin Neal came to rest up on 2 wheels with the 0 car of Michael Adams underneath it. Taylor Branch, Tommy Neal, and Zack Ore were also left wrecked on the front stretch.
While no drivers were seriously injured in the heavy hits, Michael Adams was put on a stretcher in obvious discomfort but he raced in the second Sportsman Division race just an hour later.
Zack Clifton let Dylan Ward know he was angry about the incident by stomping on the hood of the 7 car and yelling at him through the window net.
On the restart after the red flag and clean up from the big one, Brewer pulled away and out to a commanding lead and win.

Ive watched a bunch of these Bowman Gray videos, no idea how the drivers can afford all these repairs
It's cheap sheet metal that gets hammered into shape vaguely resembling the manufacturer it represents.

They pack the stands. It's more of a WWF show than it is actual racing. It's a bunch of idiots with a lot of money racing on a track that's absolutely garbage

I went to a mma/ufc fight and a car-race broke out! That one crash was a yard sale! Hope that one racer was okay.
If you do not like this you should feel great shame. That is some sure fine racing.

I raced for 6 years and when I was 11 the moved me fo the adult class and that would still try to whoop on me for winninh

Get rid of the radios and the hillbilly spotters and maybe the drives will drive and stop looking to be hard asses. That’s what happens when it takes you 3 years to get out of the 7th grade.

See how packed the stands are? It's called ACTION! Most tracks have few people in the stands because there is NO ACTION.
Its perfect for good racing.
I love to race, but would never race here. UNLESS OF COURSE, I HAD AN UNLIMITED BUDGET, PLENTY OF BACK UP CARS AND THE GOAL WAS TO NOT FINISH WITHOUT CRASHING. LOL Looks pretty obvious there is very little clean racing and passing. My best advice. 1. pass clean. 2. let off the gas when you get into someone. Everyone here should take this advice. Lol.

Should have black flagged the 55 , made him come in for repairs- scary pile up considering what little firefighting capability they have
Zack Clifton is as dirty a driver as anybody, Dylan Ward was trying to wreck him for several laps previous and a blind man could have seen this coming, but I have to LOL @ Clifton acting the fool about it, I've seen him wreck people all the time, including John Holleman IV in the second sportsmans race.
That's racing at Bowman Gray, it's a short track and shit happens, but this one was a bit scary to watch.

Could these drivers stop raging over a freaking crash? Jesus it's an accident it's called SHORT TRACK RACING for a reason. Get your panties out of a bunch and fix the car for the next race

Usually 25 laps for this division. Once a year they run a 50 and a 100 lapper. And they get 4 divisions of racing (2 of which usually run twin features, i.e., 2 races) done starting at 8pm and always finished by 11:30(city noise curfew). I haven't seen them not finish. Some of the lower classes will bump up against a time limit occasionally. Not often. The time limits are usually 20 laps, 20 limits. 25 laps, 25 minutes. etc.
