I wish the trend of people wearing their PJ's to Walmart would end!!!!!!!!!
Lol! 🤣👍🏻
Oh Yes!
And school! Middle schoolers and high schoolers - it’s insane.
I ran into a mother and daughter both in pj bottoms walking their small dog while shopping in a food store. Ridiculous
That’s a definite way to spot a lazy person. 🚩
I really don't care what the so-called fashion experts say. They are just trying to get us to buy more clothes. I will continue to wear what I feel good in. Nobody I know is going around criticizing if someone is wearing last season's fashion! I watch fashion videos to get inspiration on different ways to style what I already own.
Absolutely agree with you ♥️
Agree totally. Sadly many people do not know how to style their clothes to bring them up to date, like not wearing wide trousers with loose/baggy tops - but to wear a fitted top with wide trousers. I am US10/12 and wear do this and it make me look a US 8!
I agree that they want us to buy more clothes.
Totally 💯 👍 agree... Always must do this, must do that... Sounds like an order... This is out, that is in...
@@kathydubois1091 Kathy, I agree with you it sounds like an order. Women can look in most clothes IF they dress for their body shape. Whether the clothes are for sale this year or not is immaterial IF they suit your body shape.
No more jeans that look like they got caught in the farm equipment!! Hallelujah!!🎉
lol!! 😂
The lady behind this looks like she got caught in the farm equipment back in 1901...lol if u wear these things don't buy them..pull out your grandma clothing and strut your stuff. Lol stop ✋️ 😅😅😅
Nonsense, those jeans will never go away and neither will most of the things in this video because smart people wear what they want
I agree, no more pj's and slippers at the store!!!!
Monochromatic neutrals will never go out of style! Classiest look of all!
Neutrals are never going out of style. I am never gonna not wear them! I don’t care if they are out of style.
I agree!
They are not out of style!
At least add a bit of color if your going to wear all tans! 😅
Have never worn distressed jeans. Thinking about people in factories taking perfect fabric, ready to wear pants, then ripping pants up on an assembly line is just TRAGIC.
Cutouts on top cannot leave quickly enough. Ugh. I hope that includes the ‘cold shoulder’ look ( 🥶 ).
I’m 73 in a couple of weeks and I love wearing my trainers ( tennis shoes) with everything, jeans, pants, crops, skirts and dresses. Greetings from the UK 👋🏻👋🏻👋🏻
79 and ditto
Comfortable shoes are a must especially if one is up in age. Tell me about it (aches and pains, sigh!).
I'm 76 years of age (live in Canada) and in all honesty am just the opposite as prefer well fitted footwear to trainers/sneakers/tennis shoes that I wear strictly for athletic purpose. On that note; to each their own and wear what you love!
I’m 65, and I wear tennis shoes because I have a very flat left foot and I need orthotics. I wear Vionic sandals because they are so supportive and comfortable!
👋 I wear sneakers. Greetings from the USA
Do people really worry about what's in and what's out anymore? I see people wearing anything and everything. Who cares? I agree with you. Wear what you're comfortable in, what you like, and what's appropriate for the occasion. Common sense, classic styles, good taste - they're always good choices. Shaking my head over people who actually get anxious about this silly stuff. Be you. Enjoy life, worry less about these unimportant things. I love your attitude, Angela!
I think some people do, but as I have never been into fashion at all, I just find it amusing to watch the scramble by others to look "trendy".
Seriously. We’re just too old for this sh##. As an adult, nope, no one is telling me what to wear.
@@missmayflower Your so right. I'll wear what i want!
@@karenthomas4575 unless you can’t find anything in the stores that you like or looks good on you. Time for the outlet stores
Well said,totally agree 💜
I’ve just gotten to the point where I find high rise jeans comfortable! Darn. But I will NEVER go back to true low rise jeans.
Me neither….i love my high rise jeans now!! 🤪
Me tooo!😊
don’t worry. High rise here to stay.
I was so glad when high rise came in style. Guess I should buy a couple more to keep on hand before you can’t find them anymore. And skinny jeans.
@@verawhite1586me three! I was so glad when they came back in!
I'm 4'11". Nothing is less flattering on a short frame than low rise jeans. It's always been high rise for me and always will be.
When you are short torso they are wonderful.
I stopped wearing the ripped jeans two years ago. When I sat down and my leg fat popped out...that did it!!
Worked in Minneapolis in the 80's, women wore tenners until they got to work and then changed into dress shoes.
Yesss. Only the older women at my job wore dresses and sneakers.
this is what everyone who has to wear a suit and commute does but the fashion mavens were all against it. a person has to do what they have to do.
Same in NYC in the 80’s!
Yes, I worked at a bank downtown in the banking district in the 80’s/90’s - we HAD to wear dresses and skirts and there was no such thing then of going without pantyhose. Parking was only available in decks and unless you were a high up executive, walking to your office was a haul. Every woman wore tennis shoes and socks with their dress/skirts and then changed at the office into 2 or 3 inch pumps. My husband hated the look of tennis shoes in a dress even though I pointed out to him the plight of the professional working woman hiking around the city in heels. Men didn’t have that problem.
SAME in DC in the 80’s!
You are right, Angela, that we should all wear what makes us feel comfortable and confident.
💯 Always!! 😊👍🏻
If you can find it. That's the problem with trend reports. Retailers bulk up on one style and it becomes impossible to find anything else in store.
You learn to be resourceful. I always find what I want because I have my sources that are not only brick and mortar stores.@@aikanae1
This is hysterical!! I despise anything oversized, I don't wear sweatpants anyway & I love monochrome, that's super classic & stunning! I find it funny that some people truly do follow the trends, they take it so seriously, it's comical!
If you're shorter, monochrome adds height. As I'm taller I tend to break up my look. This defies trends and is the way to go...!
O@@deborahcurtis1385
I don’t like oversized clothes because I’m short and I feel frumpy
"Pants on the ground! Pants on the ground! Looking like a fool with your pants on the ground!" My traditional style changes very little from year to year. I skipped the cutout shirts and hole-y jeans trends. I am not crazy about un-hemmed pants, or high-waters either.
Same here. So many weird cutout shirts that did not look good. I don’t care what anyone says who spends money on Jeans that are ripped or torn at the hem? I would like to know who started those trends and give a quick clout on the back of the head.
Finally someone who says wear what is comfortable. Thank you for your vid. I have noticed that there are jeans where the zipper is half the size they usually are which makes for a weird fit as it feels like they are way up past your waist.
@@rosemarymonty5399 It is a cost-saving move. “Style with Serena” did a recent video on

I wear donated clothes 😂 because I can never afford to keep up with any fashion. 😅
Also good 👏🏼
Ugh! I HATED the oversized look! That never made anyone look good. Who thought of that?
Keep the videos coming, Angela! They are fun!
Literally stopped following certain influencers because I got tired of the stupid shaming on skinny jeans just to push products and the hypocrisy of that and so much more with these influencers💥
I did the same! Way too much energy exuded for a style of jeans.
Right, and most of these people, I would not be caught dead asking for their fashion advice. The same goes for the home designers, and there is a male hairdresser with many tattoos (it's like he is trying to be too cool); his videos are all shaming our haircuts, telling us we look old if we have them. And I cannot block his content.
I know right. One season they were trashing bootcuts and now they are trashing skinnies. Bunch of flaky hypocrites trying to peddle things on people.
It’s good for us ladies when everyone donates their figure forming skinny jeans we can buy them at the thrift store for a bargain 😉 if they want to make thier knees and hips look like they are overweight let them we will keep looking slim and fit for cheap!
@@debbievinsant4610 That is actually a bad fit. Pants should fit in a flattering way, be it straight, flared, skinny or whatever.
All pants have their purposes and if you are savvy enough, you should know that there is a pant for every occasion and outfit, so neither skinnies or any other style should have to go.
Hi rise are actually the most comfortable! Jeggings only look ok if slender. Holes in knees are not for the sophisticated older woman ❤
I LOVE monochromatic neutral tones, super classic style.
Agree!!
@@angelamasson-fashionover50 Boring
I'm still wearing my high rise jeans and I never liked the wholly jeans. Give me a classic look any day.
I have a couple of girlfriend jeans with small holes, they are not too bad.
I literally just don't care what people think are in or out anymore. Imma be me
I love my high rise jeans!! I will continue wearing them 😊
I'm still going to wear my skinny and distressed jeans as I've just lost weight and I feel good in them! 😊😊😊
Congrats on the weight loss. I’m with you. If it feels good wear it. ❤
@@denaadams6818 Thank you!!☺️☺️
Good job, I understand what it takes and appreciate your solid efforts! Enjoy wearing your SKINNY jeans 😘
I will stick with my high rise jeans..to each their own !!
Me too! I like them more at this phase in my life!
You are so funny! As a woman over 50 I appreciate this content. We do NOT look like runway models! Also, who are these people who can afford to replace their jeans every year?? I look the best in bootcut jeans so that’s what I wear!!
Totally agree on the grossly oversized blazers. Always thought they were stupid looking.
I will never give up my high jeans. People won’t put up with that kind of change and the fashion industry will have to take notice!
high waist jeans pull everything in and make your legs look longer. Low rise gives you muffin top.
I’ve been waiting for high rise jeans to come back & they’re just now available-can’t believe they want to take them away already! There are a lot of baby boomers getting older & we need to have choices. I lived thru the age of the mini skirt & just above the knee were the only length you culd buy! Terrible if ur worst feature is legs!
As long as I'm a size 10, skinny jeans are for me at age 68. Cheers!
❤Moi, aussi!!! And having dropped 150+/_#, I'm right there with you at 63!
Yep! I’m 66 5’8” in a size 8 and I love my skinny jeans!
68, size 10 and so over skinny jeans.
I’m happy! Skinny jeans are sooo hot, I live in So. Flordia. 3:47
I love my skinny jean. jeggings They are cute and neat and can be paired with boots, sneakers, heels or chunky heals and lots of different tops so I'm going to keep wearing them. Here to stay as far as I'm concerned.
Trends fade. Style is forever. 💕
I totally agree with ditching the way oversized clothes.
I remember when I thought high rises were for "old ladies". I recently put on a pair of low-riders, well they would not stay up and they just are not comfortable. I guess I am officially an "old lady"😮
❤ Right there with you!! Well, I'm trying out myself now as Vintage!!!
Same here!
@@user-ju3qi9rj9b I think the concept of vintage is fabulous!! I might even be a vintage youth? I mean vintage could be a hundred plus years so we can still be youthful 😂
You can be vintage as young as 30 now.@@devangel3614
Here in Europe heels are totally out. I remember ten years ago wearing these high heels.......cannot imagine anymore. Nobody wears them (except......yes, these ladies). Here you see a lot of pastells this season, and velvet. And silver. Greetings from Southern France. Lovely channel! Nice to see what women are wearing on the other side of the pond. :-)))))
The clip! Pants on the ground, lookin like a fool with your pants on the ground! 😂😂
Interesting about Europeans now wearing sneakers with dressier outfits when that used to be a give away that you were an American when wearing sneakers in Europe.
They wear sneakers until they get where they are going-then they change into their heels. NYC women have been doing this for forty years. Wear sneakers or ballet flats while walking a mike to work and then take your heels out of your bag and put them on when you get to your office building! I think casual dresses and skirts look adorable with the right sneaker-and wear them all day !
@@LaLadybug2011 I am aware of that in U.S. cities and did it myself, but in the past it was not something Europeans did. I agree sometimes sneakers look cute, just making an observation on what I have experienced.
sneakers are worn in Europe, not tennis shoes. One is only for the gym
I finished work in early 2018 and for the final 3 years I wore Inov8 boots with my work clothes (smart office attire) because I have a disability which means I was standing up at my desk all day. It was like wearing my favourite slippers all day. They must’ve looked a sight but I didn’t give a hoot. No one else’s business!
Yes, one thing is tennis and running shoes and the other are sneakers. Sneakers are way slicker and dressier that the other.@@tdozi1380
Hello from Belgium! I own a lot of sneakers, wear them with dresses all the time. Comfortabel and classy❤
My wardrobe is jam packed with clothes that go back years and some recent new buys however I am now at the point of working with what I have instead of giving into temptation and marketing.I colour coordinate my wardrobe which makes it easy to choose something I haven't worn for a long time and this has also helped me curb my spending as well as giving me inspiration for what I want to wear on the day and how I want to wear it.Fashion is what you choose it to be,not anyone else.
The trends change so fast that no one is keeping up and anything and everything goes. This is the first time I’m hearing about last years trends 😆 wear what you like
Public transport riders in the USA for the last few decades were ahead of their time! We all wore sneakers with our suits and dresses on the subway.
Forget mid-rise jeans was so happy when high rise came out. Glad the torn look is out never had them, never wanted them. Haven't worn heels in years.
I will not give up my joggers, my high rise jeans, my neutral monochrome outfits. I live in them and I look and feel great in them. The huge pants, the crazy distressed jeans and heels weren't ever in my closet anyways...you are so entertaining to watch!
Personally i wear what i like and what makes me comfortable..i have never liked distressed jeans
I don't even pay attention to what people are wearing. Most people can't afford to change their wardrobe year to year. Wear what fits you and your bank account.
I think I would frustrate all these fashion "experts".
My style is boho with touches of classic vintage.
The closest icon I can give, is Molly Ringwald's character in "Pretty in Pink", with a little Joni Mitchell hippie style combined.
I like seeing what is currently being worn. If I like it, I purchase an item, but I usually dismantle it and rework it to fit my style.
BTW. I really enjoyed your "Wear whatever the hell you want to wear" video.
I love watching people find their style and owning it, rather than following the latest thing.
--- Judy VanderPloeg
Ooh, I like how your style sounds! What stores do you like to shop at?
When you played the clip "Pants on the ground" I laughed out loud. Well done, Angela. Your videos always have a wonderful touch of humor.
High waisted jeans are never going out of my closet because they’re so flattering on a petite person. I’m 5.2” and pretty proportional but in order to balance everything, meaning I’m not a petite that is all legs, I have to wear a higher waisted pant to elongate my leg length. I just bought my first pair of distressed jeans so I guess I’m already out of style! LOL😊 I’m seeing the crocheted tops which were popular in the 60’s and 70’s so not sure about those either. Chunky heels are not in my closet because they make a smaller person look heavy on the bottom, although I have plenty of skinnier heels. Tennis shoes or sneakers with dresses in the U.S.A.? Not a good look in any country in my humble opinion but would depend on the type of sneaker (not heavy bulky) and skirt/dress I guess. Great video Angela and thank you for keeping us older women up to date!;)
Totally agree on the sneakers and dresses. When I was young the old ladies would wear them and they looked ridiculous.
I wear what my body looks great in and avoid listening to what certain designers try to influence us to wear as long as i stay classic and accessorizing with handbags and shoes is budget friendly for me
Monochromatic neutrals are classy and elegant looking. And if I had that cute cut out black top you have I’d definitely hang onto it.
I don't read any of those magazine, like Vogue, as they are not geared towards people like me. Mid 50s, mid-size, middle class me never matches up with what they say. They are only experts for tall skinny people, in my opinion. While it may be comfy to let my muffin top free, not doing it. LOL
Skinny jeans are the only jeans that work with tall boots. I’m still wearing mine this winter and hanging on to them for next fall/winter. As for low rise jeans, at my age that’s not happening even though I have the tummy for it. I think once you’re in your late 50’s and 60’s wearing low rise pants looks like you’re trying to look too young. As for monochrome, if you’re petite it’s a great way to look taller without wearing heels. I’m all for the flats for everything looks. Thank you for the updates!
I wear what I like. Not what everyone else wears. Since high school !
I guess most people don't realize that unless you drastically change what's "IN STYLE" every year or every season for that matter, all these designers, fashionistas, vloggers, bloggers, fashion magazines, style reporters, high end clothing stores, models, etc. would be out of business and completely irrelevant. Not to mention tens of thousands of third world sweatshops that feed the fashion industry would have to shut down because all these fashion forward people might actually wear their clothing for more than one season. But then they would all have to find something else to obsess over.....
I'm old enough to remember when "style" dictated we wear ballet flats and NEVER sneakers unless you were going to the gym. So glad to see that's out.
Here, in Australia, lots of women are on the tennis shoes with everything trend too! Have been for years. So comfy. I do my own little twist on that and wear a lace up brogue. Slightly less heavy looking on the foot. Still super duper comfy.
I wear brogues with jeans but I'm going to try them with a dress. Thanks for the idea ❤
You're pretty much saying that trends are never good because they always go out of style. Just dress classy and modest and you'll be timeless.
I’m really wondering who follows these rules, because where I live people wear anything they want. I would never be able to tell what’s in style, because people literally wear anything!
LOL I literally started singing "pants on the ground" as your clip of it came up! 🤣🤣 Being an albino I already stand out "like a freak of nature" so I just wear what makes me feel empowered no matter what the trends are. It's actually kind of liberating now that I am older. 😊😊
I agree with many of the comments. I wear what I’m comfortable in, and what I can afford. Whoever “they” are and what “they” say is of no concern to me. I’m here for ideas on how to make the most of what I currently have.
Hi Angela, I totally agree with you on these style changes. I definitely do like my high-rise jeans too! I hated that oversized suit phase. Great video!
Thank you Sharon!!
I will not give up my hi-rise!
Amen, me neither!
Love wearing what I want to wear ❤
I love my sweatpants, but only wear them around the house. Same goes for my skinny jeans, like you, I'm not wearing them as much, but I'm not getting rid of them. I still love my high rise jeans but I don't mind mid rise...as long as they are not low rise, I'm good.
I became a "classic" dresser 10 years ago. I buy well made clothes which are a bit more expensive but they last and look chic. I don't give a damn what is in or out. I wear what I like and shop for my shape not fashion.
Pretty pink sweater
Love monochromatic looks.
I don’t fit into mid rise anymore, only high rise. It is like the year the color was an ugly salmon-orange. You saw it everywhere on all kinds of clothes hanging in racks in the stores, and as the summer season came to a close they were still hanging on the rack. The powers that try to dictate styles that do not fit real women are just silly. Love your reviews.
Thank you Angela for the update. I can go with all of these but I’m going to keep wearing high rise jeans.
I’ve always worn monochromatic outfits, love high rise anything,my oversized blazers and heels.
Thank you for your efforts in sharing this info!

Hi Angela! I think it is fun to hear about trends- and that is all they are. You can still keep your personal style and look current in the “it” color or texture of 2024. Thank you for sharing some of these with us. ❤
I am going to wear what I like, not what fashion dictates me. So over these trends! As long as you don't look " crazy" anything, when put together in style, looks good!
Angela, I love the way you dress! Thanks for always keeping us informed on style.
I'm glad about the no-heels trend. Heels, IMO, are Clown shoes, waaaay medieval and are unsafe. We live in times where we need to be ready to rune for our lives at any moment. Flat shoes can run and often stay on better.
Thank you for this information. I always wear what I like but I am a reseller so this is very helpful when I’m out sourcing for clothing.
Angela you are spot on !! Agree with everything! You are so cute the way you explain it!!😂
I’m with you about the new styles. I always enjoy your outlook.
Hi rise will never go out of style in my closet!! I can’t with low rise and mid rise aren’t even comfortable.
Thanks lady for your interesting advice related our clothes. ❤
First of all, that pink is sooo pretty, and looks so pretty on you! Love this informational video. Also loved the makeup video you just did! ❤
Agree with everything you said. Spot on!!!👍👍👍👍. BTW you looked great. Pink is definitely your colour andI loved the earrings.💜💜💜. All the best for this new year. Looking forward to all your content to come!!😊😊😊
I love my high rise jeans! I can’t give them up!💕 They hide a multitude of sins😉😂 I also am embracing the tennis shoe trend with dresses and skirts. This is how I dressed when my husband and I went to Italy this year and I have embraced it and bought the style back home with me. Also, I have to tell you the hairdryer was fabulous. I had great hair the whole three weeks we were in Italy. Thanks for the recommendation Angela.💕
Thanks Angela for keeping us up to date on what the powers that be have to say. I doubt if most of us even care. I am very happy if distressed jeans would disappear, I just can't see wearing anything with holes in it. 2 minutes in a heel and your feet hurt, I agree. I enjoy all of your videos, such fun to watch. Thank you for being you.
Hooray for the crochet tops, see ya cutouts 🎉. Goodbye sweatpants, but don’t touch my joggers or my leggings! Low rise jeans, 👖 not on me 😂
Great video! I love your perspective!
Love it! Thanks Angela!
I love your train of thought this year!
I'm glad to see several of these styles go! Like, sweats, skinny jeans (unless you wear knee high boots), and oversized boxy blouses, sweaters, shirts and blazers. And I'm definitely done with the distressed look and don't get me started on "raw edge" anything! It just looks unkept and even frumpy to me I'm loving the mid rise, relaxed baggy or straight leg jeans for this year and tops that are more fitted and flattering on your figure.
I wear what i like. I personally, prefer skirts and dresses and have gotten snide remarks from other women in the past. Also like a shoe or boot with some kind of heel. It make ME feel comfortable. Its so irritating and humiliating to have others criticize what i think is comfy and looks nice on me. Why do people care so much about what others like for themselves?
What I hear and see is that high rise pants are very much in trend for 2024 .
Omg! I love you added in the pants on the ground somg 😂
Back in the day working in DC we ALWAYS wore sneakers with dresses, suits etc. we would have to go to different buildings or commute on the subway and walk to the office.
Yes! In the early 90’s we all wore tennis shoes on the metro and I had to walk a few blocks from Union Station to my office! You just brought back so many memories!
Yes but I’m sure you changed into dress shoes when you got to the office most people I knew did.
@@katemiller7874 sometimes……depended on the person
Yes! You are correct! The ladies in my office changed into their heels at the office 😍😍😍
These videos are always interesting. I live in an area of small towns and rural homes. People wear what they want most of the time but every once in a while you see some updated styles.
I've seen influencers saying that high-rise and even higher-rise pants and jeans are going to be in this year and I haven't heard anyone else say that monochromatic looks are going to be out, but I have heard that distressing is out, except in sneakers (think Golden Goose).
Everyone may be looking at different sources for their info. These came straight from a current Vogue article for this new year. But my point as always is that you have to wear what makes you happy no matter what a fashion article or fashion influencer says 😊👍🏻
Absolutely no more distressing for me😊
Hi Angela, this was a great video, so informative and fun, as yours always are. Thanks Angela.
Thank you Karen! 😊
I'm SO happy that high rise jeans are back. For the past 30 years I always thought my pants were falling off 😁
I completely agree with Angela ❤
