This is killer. To all of us who never really learned to operate any tool beyond a screwdriver or a hammer, I am in awe. That she had the resolve to make her own home is so laudable.

Every touch is wonderful, the woods, the windows, the wardrobe, the cushions, the bathroom entrance. It's all delightful, homey, cozy. It has to be so satisfying to have done it yourself. It's all gorgeous!

Love love this. It’s so cosy, homely and full of personality. I prefer this tiny home to a lot of the ones that cost 10 times as much to build. I take my hat off to her taking on board this project with little to no experience and she ended up with a completely gorgeous house. X

I wish i knew about tiny homes when my kids were small. I would have done that and had them home schooled . They wouod have all kinds of real field trips with real history and science. The community is so specifically and sweet. Every one helps each other be it a build, gardening, food, laundry what ever the need even child care while some one g9es to a doctors appointment.. the caring and love that these communities have for each other is amazing. It's more like a family compound or communal living. I love it and think it's great. You did a great job. Mistakes and weather didn't make you quit. Maybe a little frustrated but you fridges on and did it. Your an inspiration to women and girls. Girl power right here. You dreamed and made it come true. Stay safe and stay healthy.

what a lovely home you have....one thing I noticed your missing is an air exchanger, you should get one as soon as you can, and a small dehumidifier as soon as possible so moisture doesn't build up and cause mold. I didn't noticed if you had vent in the bathroom. If you don't leave the window open a tad to let the steam out ...just a few things I have learned along the way..

A carpenter tip: The fassade- if you take to fat screws and if you drive them to near to the end of the slat- the wood must brake like yours. 1: Change the screws take thinner once and let more space to the end to protect the wood from splitting.
2: Or rent a nail gun pistol they have much smaler nails then the screws.
3: Also a "mus do" buy brown super silicon flexibel one for cold and heat and full the gabs that had broken to procet the inside from rain.
4: Bevor you screw "make a smal sink" with a "sinker" that gives the head of the screw more place in the slate and reduces the "breaking power of the screws" Wood fiber is diferend. The hard wood can handle more pressure by screws soft wood like yours not.
I like the style with smal windows its better for winter lesser windows lesser cold!
Check out of you can not put a second layer of wood slates over your fassade. That will increase the insolation and it will protect the inside from humidity and rain. Start with the north side...and instale them vertikal so that the water can fly faster down under.
5: Insolate the metal from the foundament with armaflex you need to brake the cold bridge from the metal into the house. After then close the foundament with wood and styropoor to keep the cold wind from the floor. If you have a high end spray foam for the outside-
spray to floor from outside unter the foundament. Buy a foam that becomes super hard and is resistance against water there are 2 kinds of foams.

when you build "right" you will have not much problems with rain water mold or fungi.Protection against the elements is very importend in TH. One of the beste TH in the EU is the builder "Wohlwagen" take a look at there HP you will love it. Style technic autarc- insolation and price.@@fayee8986

Charming house and owner. Using recycled materials and old things makes for a really unique home. Well done, Lara. I think floor heating is a very good idea here in the damp UK, and especially in a tiny house, which can be extra damp. Also makes for being cosy in all parts of the house. Will you be running it with your wood burner when installed? It's a pity though, that it will need pumping - or a very elaborate Heath Robinson setup with kettles on the stove, funnels and drains...
In my experience, a lot of ash has quite a twist in the grain. I had a large diameter dead ash tree 13 years ago which had been hung up in the woods and dead for some time, so quite seasoned when I had a mobile bad saw come to plank some timber for me (lots of spruce too). The boards were about the thickness of yours, and when stored in an open sided shed kept nice and flat, but once I brought it into the heated house (slowly, to acclamatise), it warped like crazy. Back out to the shed, and all flat again. I've given up on using large sections of ash indoors. I hope your counter will do better.

If your cladding is “Larch”, rather than oiling to protect the wood, why not flame scorch it? This draws out the resinous sap, which then sits on the surface, protecting your cladding.

Your poor little dog please watch him closer he will probably develop infection and most probably have it already. He seems awful sore to be normal. Play say that he has asset to water at all times and you feed him well so he doesn't get too weak... there's a strong possibility that your (dog will not live )without proper care in his condition .....
