Target fixation happens to drivers too. They see you in the side mirror and drift in the direction their head is facing. Also, if they're looking in the rear view, they'll drift in the opposite direction that you go.
No they don't do it on purpose. They don't look constantly in their rearview mirror and when you come by so quickly, they don't even know where you are.
Maybe not, but they do speed up when they hit that dotted yellow line. I can’t count how many times I’ve been stuck behind someone going 5-10 under the speed limit usually in a 55mph road . Then we hit a dotted section and they go all Dale Shittart on me and we’re cruising 70+ just to slow back down to 45 when the line goes solid.
