Redoing the headliner is fairly easy. Getting it out so you can redo it is a pain in the ass. And then you have to put it and everything back in place. So it is a double pain in the ass. So the question then becomes just how badly do you want to repair or improve the look of your headliner.

Yeah depends on the year of the car and if you have the right trim tools if you do it’s a breeze

The average person does not have the tools, do not know what tools they need and have no experience in what need to be removed just to get to the headliner. If they decide to do it themselves, once they get finished they will probably have both, but unless they replace headliners for friends and neighbors, that will probably be the last time they ever do it.
A lot of the time it actual cost less in money and time to let the experienced do things like that for you rather than doing it yourself.
