- The Drumset and the Kingdom is a gathering of drummers happening on May 12, 2012 at Bethel University in St. Paul, MN. The purpose is to better equip ourselves as Christians to use the drumset in an effective way in our churches and our communities. Guest speakers include Bwack (David Crowder Band), Nate Robinson (Lecrae), Matt Tobias (studio musician), and Steve Goold (Owl City, Go fish). Registration information is available at risendrums.com. OH MAN! This looks to be quite amazing! We drummers tend to be a creative and vibrant bunch. My hope is that when we gather we can put our egos and self-promotional tendencies to the back and not ruin what has the potential to be a glorious, blessed and God-honoring event.

Stream it live! From cali i would love to be there. Something i personally struggle with is where worship/ playing drums can fit into faith. Sometimes i just feel that playing is playing and faith is faith; they really dont combine well. Hard to be passionate and be critical about how you play without losing the purpose of why you did it to begin with.

do you play christian music and are your a christian? if not then thats y you feel that way. this video is about drumming in general. its about the role of drums and drummers in worship...meaning playing in church, religious concert and/or events.

Oh c'mon. The video and all talk was so awesome, but the part with jesus... I don't have it in my drumset and I don't think that it has anything to do with drumming. Just my opinion... no offence.

Actually, the reply is not a smokescreen at all but quite literal. The answer you're looking for is not within the context of how your mind thinks. You don't think as "Christians" think and so any Christian answer would be insufficient to you because of how your mind processes it. Not saying you're incapable, just ignorant (not in any condescending tone or meaning, you just don't know what you don't know). If I were to say to you that I was Buddhist, my answer to you would have been the same (unless you were Buddhist).
I grew up in a Christian home. As a matter of fact my dad (since passed away) was a pastor of a Southern Baptist Church for many years. I've been there and done that and probably know more about the bible than you do. But now that I'm older and have had more than my share of the bad things that this world has to offer I look at the bible and Christianity in a whole different light. You say I'm ignorant when in actuality I'm just the opposite. Hopefully your blind faith won't eventually disappoint you like it has with so many others in this world.
Plastic Apple Its apparent to me that your knowledge and righteousness surely exceeds my own. I hope one day my blind faith will awaken me to the level of biblical clairvoyance you've attained from the tragedies of this world. It's such a shame that your late father would throw his life away to a faith that couldn't answer some of life's biggest questions. All that work for nothing, meaningless toil, and guiding the way for his own family to walk away from his passionate endeavors of blindness and depravity.
