Thanks for watching! ❤️ If you’re not already, please consider subscribing! Aiming for 100k subscribers 🎯 You’ll find the skin information and website link for spreadsheets and views in the description of the video, and I’ll release a moneyball tutorial guide on Thursday. Oh and finally, the save files will be available on the patreon by request: patreon.com/clayts Thanks again, Clayts xx
For anybody doing a moneyball save that relies heavily on analytics for recruitment, here's a super useful/necessary tip (if Clayts didn't go into it already in the video): In order to get the most accurate analytic information from a league, you need to set its detail level of that league at maximum in the settings. Otherwise you're getting analytical data that is not entirely accurate.
Yep - very good point. Didn’t make it but yes. You’ll notice in this that a lot of the time I’m scouting the top 5 leagues - because I’m able to play with those leagues on max detail.
You're not using the chat well. The chat is comparing him to all players. You're to set each player's chat based on where they play. For example, If you're looking at a CB, set the chat to center backs, so it compares his stats with CBs and not all players
Came here to say this. Also, another benefit of the Mustermann skin if you can push through not having the attribute numbers is that it will open up a world of potential signings that your "attribute number bias" was preventing you from signing. If you're anything like me you almost inevitably find yourself gravitating to the same pool of players in a save......your pool now got much bigger!!
i love that clayts went "were doing moneyball its not really how i play but i'm looking forward to it" then immediately goes "maybe we can bring in gyokeres when hes interested" haha never change mate
you have no idea how long i've been trying to sign him throughout the entire playthrough of this save... hahaha My justification is that at his price tag, he's still undervalued and holds a higher sell on fee!!!
Hi Clayts, just a little tip for you. In the Mustermann Skin you can click on the little icons next to the bars or pizza chart and select a position. This compares the player to other players that play in that specific position. And it also changes the stats to GK stats if selected ;D I'm really looking forward to this save. Cheers!
This is awesome. I've never done a moneyball save before nor have I really looked into it enough to understand it. A perfect blend of tutorial, entertainment and I like the inclusion of you showing us some matches too. Looking forward to following this journey
Really fun save, just remember to look at the left side of screen when talking about the bar chart because the data you were analysing to us from your new signings was based on 1 appearence
Oh I wasn’t meaning to analysing that to you, instead I was referencing the data that I had used to sign them previously, but obviously it only showed the 1 appearance stuff. Perhaps I specifically pointed out stuff on there accidentally, but rest assured it’s something I’ve been aware of!
About the goalkeeper thing, there is a slot at the top of the right button bar of the data chart section, that shows the related stats for goalkeepers, like expected goals prevented and saves.
I love this! I couldn't commit when I tried it but it was good fun. Signed players I would have never looked twice at if not for moneyball All the best! Following keenly
I tried this myself a while back and it’s very rewarding when you get it right, but takes so much time when recruiting too! Now I have what feels like a bit of a cheat code simply searching for players with a Maximum Age of 24 and Maximum Transfer Value of £10m and honestly just that alone I’ve found to be just as effective (for me) but significantly faster! I’d not heard of Luka Topalovic, Luka Vrbancic or Viktor Djukanovic until I did that, now if I’m a club that’s Mid-Table Premier League or lower those 3 are my go-to signings, along with Niklas Hedl, and in 2-4 seasons I can make £30m+ profit on every one of them
Really enjoyed the more detailed video! The three Japanese players at Celtic (Kyogo, Hatate and Maeda) look like they’re worth looking into - felt like I was constantly seeing them pop up on your data searches.
really good video! ❤ I really enjoy these type of long videos with larger jumps, its good just to put on as you play. (Also may have started a moneyball save of my own with Forest Green Rovers)
I love this, Started my own with Norwich in the Championship :D, One thing I would love to see is to see how your board are rating the transfers in the club Vision screen under performance part of it and also seeing how the fans are reacting to the signings and the sales as well to see if they understand the moneyball :D, Love it though
Had Emegha in my sunderland save, first and only season was PL top scorer with 30, above Haaland. Then Spurs came along and activated the 49m release clause.
Very helpful save this. I got FM24 when it was free on Epic earlier this year so seeing the level of detail helps clue me in when I eventually install and start playing. 👍
How about rather then a scouting list for every position you have just 3 lists. Maybe easier to maintain the list?! 1) Definite first 11 targets 2) Maybes, if a player leaves you have a list to look for a replacement (Will be largest list) 3) Keep an eye on how they develop in the stats
Amazing video! I can’t imagine how long it takes to do transfers but the data driven approach looks amazing!! Financial responsibility is a surprise though, but i am guessing that war chest of £200 is for Facilities development.. Looking forward to the next video, already stocked up on Popcorn.
As an American, I have heard of Huerta before lol. I have seen him play a few times for the Mexican national team and he's been one of the few bright spots in a team that desperately needs them. Cool to see you bring him to the premier League!
Maekawa is a steal as a keeper, great pick up. I was aware of him, but only because I'm doing an Urawa Red Diamonds save. You probably don't want to hear this, but I'll put it this way, I think you made the right call favouring him (he says only half way thru the vid, probably before youve dropped him for Flekken again 😅)
Moneyball is how I ended up taking my L12 English team from VNN to the Champions League. Can they run? Can they kick the shit out of the opposition? Can they do the one thing I'm asking them to do in their position, better than most? Are they cheap? Come on in. I had a 70kp/w wage budget and stayed up in the prem by getting 180 yellow cards.
Great Ep Clayts. Thank you. One point to make - certainly make screens of player stats before you buy them, please? Otherwise it is difficult to understand choices - although I do believe you stats were great ;-)
Huerta is a guy I’ve seen since he was a teen with Chivas’ youth system. Love the guy and he is long overdue a European move. Its nice to see him make an appearance in the video
Loved the video, would love a lower league save with this challenge/club ideology to see profits really benefit the club more but also the failures effecting the club more too
Huerta was a very good signing for me, signed him for £9m at Fulham after taking over them in the championship, went on to win pots as we walked the league.
Making money through transfers is at the core of moneyball. National teams don't do transfers, so it doesn't really make sense to do a moneyball save with them. But playing a national team save without attributes, where you have to rely purely on stats to build your squad, could be interesting, indeed.
I didnt even started watching the video but you earned the like for even finding an Athens Kallithea jersey!!! HOW? Not even Kallithea fans have Kallithea jerseys :P
Getting back to watching this whilst I am playing an no joke Clayts you just mentioned Bade and I alt tabbed into my game and my scouts just found him and gave him a B+. Coincidence or fate lol
Hello, just to let you know, on the right of the pizza/ bar charts, they are position toggles and then it will give you more relative data to the position that you play them in
My Scottish team hearts have started using Jamestown and Starlizard Tony bloom company appointed our new manager using it looking forward to see who we bring in, in Jan. Moyes was good at this at Everton at the time it was called cutting his cloth 😂
i think im on the same update as you, newcastle won the league season 1 and man utd got relegated (Just got to end of season 1, did not expect man u to finish where they did)
This is absolutely my favourite video I've seen on your channel Clayts, the long form content and the level of detail you go into is amazing! I can't wait to see the next one!
This is how Celtic run their club. We don’t have the high tv revenue like the premier league. It works well for us and after another great result against lepzig as well.
Hey Clayts, I’ve never thought about playing Moneyball, but that seems a lot more realistic and fun than the usual way of playing FM with attributes. I just have a question: how do you handle the agreed playing time with the players who are already at the club? Doesn’t it cause any problems? And what agreed playing time do you give to your new players? One last question: I noticed that you've done a lot of rotation throughout the season. Does that mean you can't really build strong green links? Is that a problem? I promise it's the really last question : How could you make sure a player with limited playing time isn’t missing out on becoming a future star?
Fun fact: my cousin is actually really good friends with Trent Kone-Doherty through their time in te Derry City academy and I can confirm he is a baller
Dantas was a fm20 wonderkid so he could turn out to be good, Huerta is a very good player in the Liga MX but I would prefer some one like Roberto Alvarado who in my opinion simply plays better maybe someone to sign
Thanks for watching! ❤️

@Clayts it really tickled me as I see him move for like 80m all the time on my saves it just made me laugh when you said it 🤣
To be fair Brentford were heavily linked in gyokeres when he was at Coventry another class signing we just missed out on due to Toney's ban

That Heurta guy is a legend in FC24, as hes a 75 rated free agent
Clayts saying we probs didn’t know who Huerta is . One word . FIFA .
Urgh FIFA 🤢
I joke, is he good on career mode or something?

Great vid Clayts excited for the series ❤ what scouting assignments would you recommend for one of these saves?
As a Panathinaikos fan I've heard of Huerta because he was linked with us in the summer.
Loving this!
kalithea shirt looks so good. I might genuinely just use this skin for every game i play because im a massive data nerd
I watch Boca games, Zeballos was amazing, he did suffer a torn acl but he was a good baller
I always use the moneyball method in a save, buy cheap and sell with profit that makes scouting interesting and fun.
My scouts recommend maekawa in my Sheffield United save this season, great signing.
1:35:14 is that Newmar at Brighton 😂😂
It might make sense to create shortlist views and scouting views that incorporate the vital data, saves you having to look into each player card.
