G'day Mark, To kind mate. But, thanks very much for your feedback and reply. Yeah, i have seen the weather up in NSW. It's full on. I hope things begin to dry out soon. Cheers Tim.
You really put a lot of effort into the filming. The camera angles and POV changes, editing and so on really add to the entertainment value of the content. I'm sure COVID has hammered your business so I hope the effort you put into these videos makes people realise you'd put the same effort into a guided trip. Cheers Perry
G'day Perry, Thanks very much mate for your feedback. A lot of work goes into filming my videos, thats for sure. Yeah mate, Covid lock downs over the past two years has hit me hard with not being able to travel and make new videos. I had to take on a farming job to get through. See what this year brings as we go forward in another uncertain year ahead. Thanks again mate. Cheers Tim
Your a true blue Aussie Tim. What crackin' video. I could sit there reading a book while listening to the landscape with those beautiful views. Don't why people want to go overseas when the Australian landscapes are spectacular. Love watching your channel. The big TV networks should pick up your channel up and show your talents off. Look forward to your next adventure.
G'day mate, Thanks a lot for your reply and feedback on this video. It's such a nice spot. You could spend hours and even days looking at that view. Stunning spot. Australia has so much to see, thats for sure. Network opportunity would be great, but they don't come around all that often. Thanks again mate. Cheers Tim.
theres no better kitchen than a campfire ! no matter what you're cooking its gonna taste amazing. Just cooked a cake last night at camp with a cast iron pot and it worked sensational !! cheers mate
Gday Mitch Absolutely mate. Campfire cooking is the best. Amazing flavours that come from a camp oven, can’t be replicated from the oven at home. Your cake sounds amazing. Thanks for your feedback mate. Cheers Tim.
Good stuff mate. Watched this ages ago and am not sure I didn't say anything previously. Not going to go through 346 comments to find out. Plain rice or steamed rice, as some call it. Put about half a cupful of dry rice in the bottom of your empty billy. Tip in some water - just enough to cover the rice by around 1.2 cm (12mm/½"). Chuck the billy over the fire to bring it to the boil - it won't take long and you might have to give the rice a stir half way to boiling. Once it boils, stir it again, replace the lid and put the billy beside the fire just to keep it warm (not hot). Let it rest for 15 - 20 mins and all the water will be absorbed into the rice (taste it to see that the grains are not hard in the middle) and you are good to go with your plain/steamed rice. No draining of excess water (saves water). It's easy to do in a saucepan at home and just as easy to do in a billy on the fire. Ask me how I know. Cheers. 🍷🍺
Gday Bill, Far out mate. I’ve not tried cooking rice with the method you have mentioned. I’ll be sure to give it a go at home first Wicked, thanks mate for your reply Cheers Tim
Fantastic. You've inspired me to get off my arse and RUclips and plan a trip in the next couple of weeks to the very spot. Might try get a look into Guys hut too while I'm there.
Gday mate. That’s a Crackn spot. You can easily check out Guys Hut, it’s only a bit further down the Howitt High Plains Rd from where you turn off into Dimmicks Lookout. You have a great trip mate. Thanks for your reply and feedback. Cheers Tim.
Thanks mate. The high country is a stunning place. Hahah Yeah mate, the ol brickie trowel with the point cut off, works a treat. Lol Thanks for your reply mate. Cheers Tim.
You sir have completely exploited my envy. Your life is magic and just a few weeks each year following in your footsteps would recharge the old batteries real fine. Central California saying great video Tim. Awesome views and a good time watching. Blessing to you sir.
Gday Lonnie, Thanks very much. I’m glad you enjoyed the video. It’s a great spot with amazing views. Thanks for dropping in from California, I really appreciate it. Cheers Tim

Nice video Tim, well done! Thanks for sharing it mate. I was up that way just a couple of weeks ago on my own, too bad I didn't know about the lookout. Well that's the reason for another trip shortly. You are absolutely right Tim, when in the bush we should cook on the campfire! What's going on with all the superkitchen setups, induction cookers and coffee making machines? I love cooking on the fire no matter how long it takes, after all I go bush to relax. See ya out there somewhere Tim Cheers
G'day Max, Yeah mate, head back up when you can and check out that view, its stunning. Im hearing you mate about cooking on the campfire. Just love it. But, it;s not for everyone i guess. Thanks for your reply mate. Fair chance i"ll see you in the bush some day. Lol Cheers Tim.

Bloody hell mate I will have to give those avocado chips a go. I never thought of cooking one. Yeah there is no limit to campfire cooking that's all I did every night for year's Opal mining. I think you stopping at that sign bought the Storm on. Beautiful photography. Gees you allways seem to make me hungry with your cooking. Another fantastic video thanks for making them. You know the early Gold and Opal Miners use to dig all day and then use their shovels to cook on at night, they didn't have much gear and were mostly on foot. Cheers Bruce
G'day Bruce, Yeah mate, get on the avo chips they are gold. Lol That storm that rolled through was amazing to watch unfold. Yeah maybe stopping at that sign might have helped to bring that storm on for sure. Lol The ol shovel on the campfire coals would work a treat as a hot plate for cooking up a feast on the camp fire. Thanks heaps mate for your reply and feedback, i greatly appreciate it. Cheers Tim.

Sights and sounds are truly epic, we are so bloody lucky to live in Northern Vic. Food was great Tim, never heard of avo fries before mate, heard of halloumi fries but never done either on the camp grill. Like you, I never use gas unless its a complete fire ban. Ill be sure to give this a go. Cheers Moose.
G'day Moose, Yeah mate, it truely was a stunning location to base up for a few days. The sounds that come out of the bush are amazing and so peaceful. The campfire is the best way to make any good meal, but as you say unless its a total fire ban day. Thanks mate for your reply and feedback. Cheers Tim.
Great video Tim Why would anyone want to go anywhere else when we have so much to do and see in Victoria, see Victoria then start with the rest of Australia 👍
G'day Bruce, Yeah spot on mate. So much to see here in Victoria. The high country as a heap to check out. Thanks mate, i appreciate your feedback. Cheers Tim.
Gday Tim, I've probably watch this one 3 or 4 times and I still think it is a rippa. Love the views and your cook ups. Can't say I would like to camp in that storm though. I'm looking forward to some more cooking videos if you get around to it. Thanks. Paul.
G'day Paul, Mate that was a wicked storm that rolled through. The fog ripping through the trees was amazing to see. great spot with stunning views. More bush cooking videos are in the pipeline mate. Thanks a lot for your feedback. Cheers Tim

G'day mate, Thanks heaps for your feedback. The high country is a stunning place, but things can change very quickly as showed in the video. That storm was amazing. Cheers Tim.
Wow, spectacular. I have been going to the Vic High Country a few times and never been here. On my bucket list now, thanks Tim and would love to here of your top 10 views in the Vic High Country
G'day mate, The High Country is an amazing place. I hope you can get there soon and check out the area. I must get around to making a video on my top ten lookouts. They are stunning view points. Thanks mate for your reply. Cheers Tim.
G'day Richard, Yeah mate. Picture Point is very similar. But it doesnt have the massive drop off like Dimmicks. Both are stunning view points. Thanks mate for your reply and feedback. Cheers Tim.
Great vid once again tim. Perhaps you should mentioned to always camp in a clearing and not under those widow maker snow gums. More high country please.
G'day Shane, Thanks mate for your feedback. I will keep that in mind for future videos. You do need to be careful where you set up camp. More high country coming mate., Cheers Tim.
What a place Tim!! The melody of the bush composed by the birds and the art work of Mother Nature is food for our soul. Just to think that people fight for parking spots in Melbourne shops when this is a free offer.! Thanks for sharing and keep your dream alive in 2021. Cheers fron Tassie
G'day Arthur, Yeah mate, it was filmed in a stunning location and as you mentioned. It's all free to camp. Thanks mate for dropping in from Tassie. You have a great Xmas. Cheers Tim.
Great video Tim, nice to see that part of the country. Beautiful area, definitely have to be prepared as mentioned. I'm heading out tomorrow for 4 days myself and plan to do some cooking. Thanks for the motivation you've given me. Cheers
Another great video Tim. I can't get enough of those High Country views especially the storm footage. A video of your favourite scenic look outs would be amazing.
Gday mate, Yeah it’s wicked seeing a good storm roll in. I must get round to filming those lookouts. Would be a good video. Thanks for your reply mate. Cheers Tim.
G'day Roger, Haha Yeah mate, couple of pies in the camp oven, way to go. Lol Love the weather in the high country and how it can change very quickly. Tops spot to camp up. Cheers Tim.
G'day Norm, Yeah it was a stunning spot and the weather blowing through was amazing. Hope you can head out soon. Thanks for your reply mate. Cheers Tim.
G'day Jim., I have been into Pieman Falls. Its would be great to see after some heavy rain. Stunning waterfall to check out across the high plains. Thanks mate for your feedback. Cheers Tim.
G'day mate, No worries, i appreciate your feedback. I'll get more shots of my camp set up in future videos. Thanks heaps mate for your reply. Cheers Tim.
I stopped at Dimmick's lookout in Jan. 2021. I was assisting Parks Victoria and Bushwalking Victoria with realigning and clearing and tagging the foot track from Guy's hut down to the junction of Dry River and the Wonnangatta River. That is a tough and remote hike!.It was HOT and using a chainsaw all day was taxing.
Cracking spot tim, some great time lapse footage of that storm rolling through. I’ve never camped solo but it’s something I’ve always wanted to try. Keep up the good vids mate, have a merry Christmas. Cheers 🍻
@@grantdoughty9657 Gday mate, Yeah, that storm was unreal to see. It sure turned on a show. It’s a great spot to camp. Thanks mate. You have a great Christmas and happy new year. Cheers Tim.
Gday Herb, Mate it is a really nice spot. The views are amazing. Yeah for sure, have a crack at those Avo chips, they are tops. Thanks for your feedback mate. Cheers Tim.
I have been going to the same camping spot for 37 years with the Family, and mates, but after seeing your video, I think I might have to have a look in the High Country, it is tempting I must say. Good stuff well done.
Great video! Loved all the time-lapse footage. I reckon you will be safe from any Vampires that may be lurking in the High Country. Thanks for all your hard work.
Love it…. Went up there last year and was a total whiteout, couldn’t see nothing, then went to the Pinnacle’s lookout and still nothing but cloud and rain, so looking forward to going back in better conditions 🍻🔥🇦🇺🏕
Gday mate, I hope next time when you head back up, that you can get to see the amazing views It will be so worth the trip back up. Thanks a lot for your feedback Cheers Tim
G'day Chris, Yeah mate it is a ripper spot and the view is something else. Thanks heaps mate for your reply and feedback, i greatly appreciate it. Cheers Tim.
Ya worked hard on that one Batesy! Have been watching you for many years and this was one of your best! Loving the extra camera angles and the sound is great! Sometimes a bit more gear can make a massive difference. Cheers!
G'day mate, Thats wicked feedback thanks mate. I do try and through in as many different angles as i can to help make the video interesting. It's a lot of work getting all the shots on your own, but i love what i do and bringing those videos to you guys. Thanks again mate. Cheers Tim.
I like your fire cooking setup Tim. I know someone made them specifically for you but does anyone else actually make them at all? I,d love to get some if possible . They work really well by the look of it. Love your channel Tim 😀😀👍🏾
Wow tim another good watch mate you guy's have such a versatile country that you live in so much places to visit camp in, by the way the big gu is looking 👌
G'day Anton, Thanks mate. Im glad you enjoyed this solo trip. It was in a stunning location. Thanks for your reply and feedback. The mighty GU is going pretty good. Lol Cheers Tim.
Tim, I really like your videos but that one has got to be one of the best. The lookout was fantastic. Best bit ....you where sitting there and not a sound to be heard. Just Ace. (the pies looked good too)
G'day Peter, Thank you mate for your feedback. It sure was such a great trip just enjoying that view and the sounds coming from the area i was in. The bird sounds are amazing, specially waking up in the morning to them. Thanks again mate, i greatly appreciate it. Cheers Tim.
Brilliant. Changing weather reminds me of the classic line from Man From Snowy River.... "But wait 'till that gets here". How is it you never run into crowds of other campers? Is that just the way it is in VHC?
G'day Greg, Funny you mention Man From Snow River movies, im watching them right now in my shed. Lol I rarely see people with knowing where to go. Thanks mate, it was a great trip. Cheers Tim.
Good job, Tim! We are heading down from Coffs now, couple of days at Gloucester, then Lake Eucumbene, down through Snowy River NP and on to explore the Dargo area for the first time. Can't wait.
Another great feel good video Tim, love the solo camping trips myself !! Never seen those avocado chips before but i have to try them now. Keep the videos coming
Good video Tim. I was hoping to see more about actual camping in a rain storm; how it affects the daily routine, adjustments, pastimes etc. I appreciate your passion and the sharing of your knowledge.
Hey tim. Another cracking video thanks. It must take you ten times longer to travel and walk when you are bringing us along ( moving and setting up the camera's. Thanks again for the effort you go to.
G'day Dave, Yeah mate, a lot of work goes into making when you're a one man band. But, i just love what i do. Thanks mate for your feedback. Cheers Tim.
I love being out in the vic high Country too. My last trip up howitt planes was a 83km round trips on a trail bike that i could only get 80km out of the tank of fuel. Lucky we camped at bindaree hut so it was down hill for the last few kays and rolled back into camp. Appreciate your hard work mate.👍👍
Tim mate great dish chicken legs asparagus garlic avocado etc but the white bland rice needed to be spiced up by rolling/mixing it into into all them yummy flavours you created in that cast iron pan by deglazing the pan with a tad water or white wine and rice and you would da had an excellent fried yummy rice 😉

Gday Ron, Those avo chips are really nice. Sliced avo, in egg and flour then cook in the pan. You could add any flavours to the flour you like. Thanks mate for your feedback. Cheers Tim.

Top stuff mate with the clearing work you were doing.
Amazing country right along the Howitt High Plains.
Thanks for your feedback.
Cheers Tim

Something I recently learnt. You drop the egg into the fry pan and it breaks perfect, then just lift out the shell 👍
Gday Jon,
Ahh righto.
I’ve not seen that way of cooking an egg done mate.
Thanks a lot for your feedback and reply.
Cheers Tim.

Tim, I really like your videos but that one has got to be one of the best. The lookout was fantastic. Best bit ....you where sitting there and not a sound to be heard. Just Ace. (the pies looked good too)
G'day Peter,
Thank you mate for your feedback.
G'day Greg,
Funny you mention Man From Snow River movies, im watching them right now in my shed. Lol
I rarely see people with knowing where to go.
Thanks mate, it was a great trip.
