- Easy Red Chile Hot Sauce Recipe | How to Make Hot Sauce
Here is Knockout Kitchen's easy hot sauce recipe. The chilis used are Jamie Oliver's favorite red chile (chili, chilli). Even though these red chilis are rather mild, they do pack a surprising punch! This recipe also shows you how to jar hot sauce. Hope you all enjoy the recipe. If you enjoyed this video please like, subscribe and comment below.

Thanks Sean, glad you dig it!
Awesome can't wait to try this.. just to make sure you don't have to add sugar, salt or vinegar to this recipe right??
0:45 he added salt , 1:22 he added one cup of vinegar halfway through wizzing it. Good there was no sugar but could always be added to taste.
Nice
Thanks for watching Moiz!

Super easy to follow instructions!!! Thanks deeply for sharing your awesome presentation!!! Hot sauces are wonderful against bacteria and viruses because they clean the nose of all kinds of crap immediately after ingesting some!!! I love Frank's hot or Sriracha over in spicy soup or over rice....because it really cleans my nasal passways very well!!!!
Thank you. Glad you liked this instructions. I love this hot sauce recipe. I have used hotter peppers and other things but this is still my favorite.

yataketumbi chaos thank you!
you're welcome ^_^
Hl love the work, What does the vinegar do ? Is it to preserve it? Also do you have any vinegar taste?
Yes it's to preserve it. All hot sauces have it to preserve it. It has a bit of a tangy taste but mostly pepper tasting.
Love the way that he is explaining 👍😅
Thanky! 😊
He's so funny.. Love this recipe
Sohela g 🤓🤓🤓
I love the video! Does this hot sauce go well with burritos and tacos?
Love the idea! I see you stored in mason jars did you process them or just refrigerate ? If you processed which method did you use water bath or pressure ? Thanks
Brandy Gallegos I just sterilized the jars by boiling them like shown in the video. When you put the heated sauce in the sterilized hot jars and screw on the lids, as they cool it creates a seal. You could put the jars back in boiling water if you wanted but it isn't necessary. As long as the jars have been boiled and the sauce hit when put in the jars it will create a seal.
KnockoutKitchen as an avid canner, that's not safe, unless you're storing them in the fridge. As to why I asked if you processed them in a water bath or pressure method, you need to kill bacteria in order for it to be shelf stable.
Thanks for the vid, I made your sauce with cayenne peppers, and it's amazing. I did process for 15 minutes in water bath for shelf stability, just in case someone else is/was wondering the same thing ! Happy canning !
Brandy Gallegos any bacteria was killed in the boiling process. Glad you tried the recipe! 😊
ADD!
Dude, I'm buying you a blender
Hahaha! 😜
Ok
I used this recipe and it was great

I’m using Carolina reaper chillis. Wish me luck.💥💥💥💥
Ricky Spanish hahha awesome! You’re gonna need luck! 👌🏼
Good luck, ghost pepper kicked my ass badly but I love them

For how long can this hot chilli sauce without adding any preservatives or putting in the refrigerator
Well the salt and vinegar act as a preservative. If sealed jars it will last over a year. The colour will slightly change though and look less vibrant. A little opened jar should last easily 3 or more months. Just keep a look out for mold if you keep it out of the fridge. If no mold it should be fine. I haven't had mold grow on mine.
dude u r the best , keep up the chili work :)
sun alex411 thank you so much!!

Can we use dried Red Chillies fresh Red Chillies are not available in this season
Hi Rekha, yes you can use dried chillies. Keep in mind you will need more peppers if they are dried it you could add a little red bell pepper with the drive chilies.
🦋🙏
Can I use finger peppers? I know it's green but it's abundant here.
Yes you can use any peppers you like. Just judge how many to use based on their size or heat level.
@@KnockoutKitchen "any" then capsicum for hot sauce it is!
Can you make a video of WabaGrill's red sauce recipe?
Bolbi-Tito TV I have never heard of that sauce. I'll look it up.
Thanks!
Can i use dry red chilli instead of fresh red chili...??
Plz plz plz reply
Yes for sure. It won’t be as “fresh” tasting with dried but you can totally do it. You may need more chilies when using dried chilies. I’d soak the chilies in a little warm water first to rehydrate them. And you may have to adjust the water/ vinegar for desired thickness.
This video become more than 5 years and it only having 157 dislike wow😮😮😮
It's not 157 its 151
Ok
Hehe. It's a pretty good recipe for people wanting to try making hot sauce. Thanks for watching!
Yes I try it
It taste good with noodles.
yummy 😋
great😁 .....
How long does this sauce stay good for?
Sharon Godbout in my experience, I have used it bottled for up to a year. When opened it can last for 3 months.
Sharon Godbout I’ve had them for as long as 2 years bottled. The colour changes over time. Loses its vibrancy. But it still tastes good. When opened it goes fast for me cos I eat it a lot but it should be perfect opened after 6 months. These are just guesstimates. Enjoy the recipe!
holyshit just made this sauce litrally mind blowin. great video and super easy to make. thanks
Thanks for letting me know Paul, love hearing that!! 👌
Can you use lemon juice in place of vinegar??
You could but it would make the sauce a bit sour. If you used lemon juice I would add some sugar or honey to try and balance out the flavour.
Can i still do it with dried chili peppers?
Trevel Hall yes for sure. It won’t be as vibrant coloured but it will work. Just soak the peppers to rehydrate them. You could try added a red bell pepper as well as the dried peppers for color though.
How long does it last at the fridge?
Ahmad Al-Dossary I'm not quite sure because it's always gone before it has time to go bad. Jarred it would last a year but open I'm not sure. I would think a couple months. It would last quite a while. Just keep an eye out for mold and you should be good. It does after all have a lot of vinegar and some salt which is a preservative.
Thank you dear, i'll try it
Ahmad Al-Dossary no problem. Be sure to let me know how it turns out. 😊
@@KnockoutKitchen you are the best , please direct me to more of your receipts
How long you can keep?
Hi Mar, it has lasted several months open in the fridge dude to the vinegar content. Unopened sealed jars have lasted a year. It loses vibrant colour but it tastes great.
it looked like he murdered someone in the bowl while pureeing.... yummy sauce though😀😀👍
shazia fareed yup it went everywhere haha. Splattered all over the cupboards like a crime scene! 😜
😊😊😊😊
Is dried red chillies okay?
droopy pathu yes you could use dried chilies, just soak them to make them soft first. I would use a small red bell pepper as well if you are using dried just to make the colour of the sauce more vibrant.
KnockoutKitchen thanks man 😊
Its okay to add a pineapple?
And how many weeks will be stay as good?
Yes pineapple would be good in it.
Nice very very nice
Surjit Mahal thank you!
Can I use lemon juice instead of vinegar?
I wouldn't recommend that. The vinegar acts as a natural preservative for the sauce. While lemon juice is also a preservative I would think that that much lemon juice would make the sauce too sour tasting.
Thanks
I'mma try this with vinegar though😊
Cool, let me know how you like it. 😊
Hi can I use food processor?
Yes you can for sure.
@@KnockoutKitchen thank u
No problem. If you decide to make it please let me know how you like it. ☺️
Can we make it with green chilli
Definitely, just use around the same amount of green chilies.
How long does this last?
About 6 months.
Cool Process, Im kind of a Wimp when it comes to HOT SAUCE, if you could make it a Medium Burn , I would probably be able to handle that, but it still looks really good Dude
This is totally tolerable. I made a habanero sauce recently and it is insane tho!
KnockoutKitchen Holy crap, I bet it is
do you follow the same recipe but just use the habanero instead of the red peppers?
+sim672 actually I recently filmed a habanero recipe that is different than this one. I'll post it soon and let you know when it is up. It turned out awesome also!
how much grams of chilli ..coz i will be using jalapeno..will try used your same quantity ingredients for garlic etctec ..so want to know arox how much the red chillies are .......thanks
Marc Andre Perin a typical Red Chili is about 20 grams. So if I were you I would use around 15 jalapeños. If the consistency of the sauce is too thick or thin then just adjust your vinegar. Let me know how it turns out. I have used this recipe for jalapeño hot sauce and it’s awesome!
KnockoutKitchen thanks you
Marc Andre Perin you’re welcome! Enjoy!
@@KnockoutKitchen HEY i did it today...super love it....i just add a little piece of lemon in it ...thanks so much..
Marc Andre Perin awesome! Good to hear.
I love spicy very much
How long will this store for??
Paul it will last for a year or more. The colour will fade over time. Opened it should last over a month but I have never had an opened jar that long. I haven't had any grow mold due to the vinegar content that preserves it. If it doesn't look strange or smell bad it should be good. Hope this helps.
Can you replace the peppers with 15 Carolina reapers?
Fat hoe Marijuana I would love to make a video with those! They are hard to get in Canada however. Thanks for watching!!
is this chillies are alopinio chilli??
Lumen Tech no, they are actually called "red chillies".
What veniger did u use? Will apple cider veniger be fine
Nitish B for this video I just used regular white vinegar but you can definitely use apple cider. It will give it a deeper flavor.
For how long we can keep it?
If you seal the jars it lasts a year or longer for sure. The colour just fades over time. Opened it last for months. I haven't had any go bad. If it looks and smells fine it should last a really long time. The vinegar and spiciness of the peppers keep it from going back.
@@KnockoutKitchen Thank you :-)
No problem Ahmad! Enjoy!
Woooww
what type of peppers are those?
+jeneh27 They were just standard red chilies. I don't believe they have a name other than red chilies. Jamie Oliver uses them constantly. Thanks for watching!
What time this store sauce?
Babi Shrestha when you jar the sauce it lasts one year.
I usually leave the "basic" mild red chilis on the shelves when shopping but in this form I might actually find a tasty connecting link between them and myself! 92 dislikes? too hot? too much garlic? I mean if you're like me and not a big fan of using fresh garlic and the amount shown on the video just add a small amount of dried garlic spice? Or replace it with something else ;) I know I'm gonna add some strong curry spice into mine.
Im having one hell of a time trying to find the peppers you used in this video. As it turns out "red chili pepper" is not a name for specific pepper, but just a description, meaning a red pepper that is spicy.
Yes I don't even know that they have a name. Jamie Oliver uses them constantly. I find that they are the easiest to find next to jalapeños. You just have to look for red chilies shaped like them. They will probably just be called hot peppers, or assorted chilies or chilies. Best of luck and thanks for watching.
I actually grow them in my garden. The tag that came with the plant only says 'Red Chili Pepper'
+Jason Davis yup that's all I have ever known them to be.
Alot of western asian style grocery stores have them in stock if you have one around check them out
add a tsb of vinegar as preservative?
jahan zaib there is vinegar in the recipe. Thanks for watching!
what is the shelf life of the sauce..??
PRADNESH MHASKAR I'm not really sure. I have used it after a year and it tasted good. The red colour just wasn't as vibrant. I would imagine it would last indefinitely since it's mainly hot peppers and vinegar.
PRADNESH MHASKAR mind you I'm talking sauce that was sealed and unopened. I don't know how long an opened one would last in the fridge because it is usually used before it can go bad.
please say the name of chillI..is this a less hot chilli/ sweet chilli??
It's actually just called a red chili. They are spicy but milder than a jalapeno. So not crazy spicy or anything.
What is the name of red chillies
Mariyum Mariyum it’s a cayenne red chilli pepper, but I have only ever seen them in stores called red chillies. Thanks for watching! 😊
Hot sauce deeply dip that eyyyy
😁
How do you make spicy sauce out of chili powder? Please comment a recipe, thank you :)!
Layla Hill I don’t really think that would work out. Chilli powder is a lot different tasting than actual hot peppers, and not very spicy at all. 🤷♂️
Hooowhite Onion hahahaha
😁♥️
I bought some Hot chilli Powder trying to make my hot sauce using it etc.
A 5 gallon bucket of sauce would be good.
Would it ever!!
Can you skip the onion part?
Raidzor つ ◕_◕ つ yes you can totally skip the onions. They aren't completely necessary. Use a couple more peppers instead. If you make the sauce let me know how it turns out. It's a great sauce.
Thank you for the reply! I'll let you know how it comes out!
KnockoutKitchen I tried it out and it came out pretty nice. A bit too liquid i think, i should use a bit less water and vinegar. Thank you man, great recipe! ;)
Raidzor つ ◕_◕ つ yeah it's all practice. You could always simmer it a bit longer to to get the desired thickness too. Glad you tried the recipe out. Enjoy!
can we use this sauce for buff wings?
isaiah yes definitely, just heat some sauce up with butter.
Im trying to make a hot sauce made of Carolina reaper when my plants grow
