A great little engine. Cold Cranking procedure. Pull and hold out the engine stop. Advance throttle to full while in neutral. Release the engine stop. Start the engine and back down the throttle
Okay Teri, you have to listen to me as I am being dead serious now and I know how to deal with having too much pre cooked sauerkraut:😉 Boil some fresh potatoes and a big fresh butcher sausage thing in some water, like 10 - 15 minutes. Just chuck it in a pot. When the taters are done, ditch the remaining water, but keep the taters and sausage in the pot. Add the sauerkraut ( about the equal volume as the potatoes) and a bunch of salt and pepper to the lot. Keep it on the lowest fire (make sure not to burn the bottom part), add a bit of milk and butter and then SMASH THE HELL OUT OF IT! (big lumps of sausage and potato are allowed in the finished dish) After murdering the pot's contents, ditch it on a plate! As option you can add a bit of smoked sausage on the side, and perhaps some pickles. Et Voila Monsieur, you just made "Klassieke hollandse zuurkoolstamppot"! It's healthy and you'll grow 2 meters tall, like all of us Dutchies. And on a more serious note, it's tasty, easy, cheap and a one pot meal that will feed you for 3 days. Much love buddy! Keep bumbling, happy holidays!
Engine is a 2002 which means it's a 2000 series and 2 cylinders. They did a 2001, 2002, 2003 and a 2003 turbo. To start from cold apply full throttle (in neutral) punk out the stop plunger thing twice and press start..should eventually fire up.
Maybe it's in the next video as you mention the raw water repairs but the first thing I always check on a new boat is where is the raw water seacock? what condition is it in, does the valve open and close easily? And I replace the valve if they have a cheap nasty pressed mild steel handle. (Which often I find are badly corroded and loose). You can get a decent full bore stainless valve with solid stainless handle for less than £20.
Have a great holiday Terry. I've just over hauled the raw water cooling on my volvo penta too (looks like same model as yours). Last job this weekend is to replace the old hose I had to cut off, then I'm good to go again. Keen to see next weeks video. Check the exhaust elbow that sits on top, as they will get clogged up too. I replaced mine and water now flowing really nicely. Watching from Australia but originally from Doncaster. Good to see things coming together.
Take a look at your cooling water pump as it looks like the impeller plate might be leaking. It’s also advisable to replace the impeller at each engine service
Well done Terry a very nice boat indeed nice engine volvo like their cars i suppose can be expensive but normally are well manufactured how's the job situation anyway have a relaxing merry Christmas and a happy new year looking forward to the next video 😊😊😊
I personally prefer the videos without the voice isolation in audio. The dead air is unnerving and doesn't work well unless heavily editing out the dead air moments which I don't think flows well for this channel.
You almost told us the model of your Volvo Penta, but all we got in the end was "Volvo...Penta... something". Please share the secret. Enjoy a nice little holiday break, merry Christmas Terry!

Have a very Christmas & a lucky NY. Why Volvo Penta? FF5! ... fascinating facts 5 :- "... the engine was simply named B1 - but a five-man committee was set to find a name that would catch on. The committee failed to agree on a catchy name, but because it had five members, settled for Penta ..." How very Swedish!
Had two different models (2001 and md7a) in two different boats and i cant think of any bad things to say except the fact that spareparts are not cheap.. Take a look at the documentary about 'volvo redblock' here on RUclips.. Cant be that bad! (-:
I hope you got the 'second edition' cause the first one has been known to drop the flywheel (-: But yes... Worked fine for me in a previous boat aswell! Especially after 17.hours non stop running and valve adjustments...The price of the rubber in the engine mounts was a bit ridiculous though!
@@TheWeekendSailors i was just reading a bit more on those 200x engines and one should consider himself lucky if its without saildrive i think.. but hey - sails, anchor, waving the hands above your head! No guarantee while going to catch good experiences (-: and thank god for the progress made in weather forecasts!
Turn up the heat and chew some nice fermented cabbage! Wish those cans was available in my part of the world.. Beautiful little ship.. and a lot less mould to kill you slowly! Congratulations! In two months or so life will be GREAT!

Mic problems 12:03 engine looks tidy 👌🏻✊🏻🏴
I think it's a failed attempt at using noise cancellation to remove the engine noise, but I think it was maybe unintentional 😂
I accidentally pressed the wrong button in post 😕

It's the water seal on the shaft that'd gone. And the shaft... That'll be next week's video 👍👍
Luved the bit at the end. Merry Christmas, Terry! 🎅🎄⛄

It`s a super boat for the bucks. Just take one day at a time and soon you will swim in the Med from your own boat.

Volvo makes excellent engines but I've read the parts can be pricey. Hopefully there is no need to find out.
