I watched a couple of your reviews so far. Amazing details and everything I want to know. Seeing a thousand pictures of the hotels can't compare to this one video. It tells me the vibe of the hotel and what's around the hotel that can't be easily described. It really helps me to make my hotel choices. Thank you.
I stayed there in early December 2014. I got a room on an upper floor with a decent view for about $90 a night (plus tax), which was a good price. I was just checking for next month (February 2022). During the week the rooms are now about $350+ per night, plus tax. I'll be taking a socially distant trip to San Diego then, driving from L.A. That rate was too high for me to stomach. Up the road, at the Wyndham Bayside, I found a city view room for $150 per night, plus tax. Took that instead.
We love the Manchester Grand Hyatt. It is so convenient to many places like Petco park. The views are spectacular However, they changed the levels from a 4 to 5 so no more free nights for stayca vacations (Moab Hyatt Place went from a 2 to a 5)
I've stayed at the Manchester Grand Hyatt at least 6 times. It is my favorite Marina District hotel in San Diego. Far be it from me to question Topher but if you compare any hotel to Aviara (Park Hyatt), you are going to be disappointed. Aviara is a 5 diamond resort and is among the finest hotels anywhere. Meanwhile the Manchester Grand Hyatt is a beautiful hotel with tons of amenities but it is not Aviara. Finding hairs in my bathroom would have upset me too. I hope you reported it and that they made it up to you.
@@YellowProductions I hear you but part of the price is the neighborhood. I once paid almost $500 a night for a Courtyard by Marriott in San Francisco. Downtown SD hotels tend to be expensive.
I liked the demonstrations you were doing when you were showing off the recreational activities outside at the hotel. Did you pull out any of the other giant Jenga pieces off camera? Also, the views look quite awesome from the room!
+Scottman895 Travel I got to show off my poor basketball skills! :). I didnt want to put the whole Jenga back together.. so I just carefully slid that one piece back in :)
I stay at the Whyndham when I visit san diego, I think the rooms are better there. I really wanted to stay at the Manchester Grand Hyatt, but not so sure anymore after seeing the rooms.
I had the EXACT same issue when I stayed there. My room was not clean. I wrote a review and the gave my Hyatt points so that was good. But considering that was the first time I stayed in a Hyatt, not good. Dust everywhere and the bathroom was not clean. They actually moved me and the second room had hair sll over the wall in the shower and the same dust and particles. Gross. It's a shame because the staff was great. Loved eating at Sallys in the evening. It was just beautiful sitting outside looking at the water.
The Conference Suite is the standard suite upgrade there and it's probably the biggest introductory sweet I have ever seen. Only down side about this hotel is no balconies. If it had a balcony it would be 5 stars to me. You grade too harshly. All you care about is free food and then you are picky about that. If a run down Hyatt place is 1 star and an average Hyatt Place is a two star then you are saying this hotel is only one star better than average. Get outta here with that.
DO NOT STAY HERE. Very overrated for the price. Be warned parking is $40/ day $60/day for valet. Coffee is $8. The only nice part is the sky bar opens at 4 to 11 pm
The room was very basic and the artwork some of the ugliest I've ever seen! As for the lounge food...no desserts and one hot breakfast entre...what do expect for $400!

$90 is a good deal. $350 definitely not worth it

+Peter Pete The Wyndham on Harbor Drive? Location wise they are both quite close. I haven't been in the Wyndham since it was a Holiday Inn :)
Are there any pianos in the hotel available for guests to play?
