If you don't see your chat in OBS anymore it might be cause you could've made the chat transparent before adding it in OBS. Write a text message and the chat will appear. This is the problem I had

If you're streaming an application window, you can right click on the preview and project the preview to a monitor, there is a slight delay, but you'll see exactly what your viewers see. You can also do that just fine if you're streaming a source from a console or phone.
If you're streaming an entire screen, then doing that will not be possible. It'll just turn into smoke because it'll loop back the image.

@@CharizardChad You aren't supposed to see it, your viewers are, that's why most streamers use a second monitor to see their chat. You are only streaming the chat, not putting it on your screen for you to see.

Bro, I've been trying to get this working for over a week, no lie, unfortunately, I've never been able to read instructional material, then go back and apply it, I'm the type that has to see and do, THEN I understand it. So I followed the steps and managed to get my chat on obs as a source like in the video. Thing is the chat won't display over my game when I switch to full screen (which is kind of the point when I go to stream live so I wouldn't have to switch back and forth with the obs screen). I should have said first that I use a single monitor setup. Is there a way to set this up when I go full screen? Thanks in advance!

Of course, I follow this, and it doesn't work. :/ I don't even get the black box when I add it to OBS.... Update. I uninstalled my OBS, Reinstalled it and this is now working. If you are unable to see the box in your OBS, give this a try.

Got it working BUT,
I have a problem, so the emotes show up on both twitch's chat box, and steam elements, but not on OBS? I just get the words to activate the emote but not the actual emote? anyway to fix that?
