Following step by step is easy and if there is something you don't catch the first time, he makes it easy to spot where you went wrong on the first try. GUYS THIS IS UNREAL. I have been watching your videos for like a week now to make livestreams and when you mentioned insym i swear my jaw dropped, LIKE HOW? He's my new comfort streamer since like a month or more and I'm just in shock
This is what I’ve had for a few weeks. It’s really good, but the main issues: -No background colour and no option for it to be translucent (meaning colour of text can clash with the colour of the game and make it hard to read) -Can’t see if the user is a first time chatter (or something else) The other option is the Streamlabs game overlay with the chat which has a background colour and can translucent with an option to change the opacity, but there’s one major issue: when an animated emote is sent in the chat, it causes a huge amount of lag, making it trippy and hard for me to read the messages and also increases the delay of messages being received to the chatbox overlay, which means there could likely be issues with this method during a stream. Hard to determine what the best solution is as of yet but I appreciate the tutorial. Based on your expertise, any advice you’d recommend based on what I’ve said that could eliminate some of the issues with either option? (And yes I use streamlabs and have watched MANY of your tutorials and they’ve massively helped me get started on twitch 💪)
I’ve honestly MASSIVELY needed this video… Up until now… I’ve used 1600x900 as a windowed mode setting for ingame so that I can ready chat while in OBS… But some indie games don’t have this setting and have only Full screen and windowed Full screen. A massive thank you! I’m going to try this tomorrow in my stream :D

@@GreenGlassesGuywhen you do window capture. Hit the drop down bar and choose the exact window you are wanting to show. The window has to be open on your screen. But it can just be in background behind everything else

quick question, do you HAVE to use display capture in order for the chat to appear on the stream or would window/game capture work as well, just layered over the what youre streaming?
You can add chat over your game capture using other methods, but also you could probs use another window capture to possibly capture that same chat box if you wanted

If you want them to see it, then you'd need to use a display capture to capture your entire screen, otherwise you can add chat a different way if you didn't want to do that

It looks like github doesn’t do the installer any longer. The setup.exe is at the top of the description for newer versions (1.0.4 is the one I’m looking at). MS tries to stop it. I hit “run anyway” and that was it for installation.

So I found maybe a bug using obs while streaming twitch and when everytime I open twitch on my phone thru the app the audio always stops working on obs and won’t fix until you full close obs and the game

I tried to download it but my computer blocked it. It's not necesarily that i am tired of reading chat on my phone. It's more like i can't see it. I could see it before but it had a 30 second delay, and when i took the delay off i could not see any new messages
@@CpawsMusic ah okay. Cause I was thinking of using my phone as a second screen. But the options I found didn't work so I thought that it could be possible using it with the twitch app in parallel.
this is much easier, i dont have to think about how much battery i have and also i can freely use my phone. It maybe not better than buying second monitor, but they are very expensive.

I have followed the above instructions, and I am getting a massive error message that says that CEF Sharp.Dll is missing or something? any thoughts? I have tried different versions back to 8.0 from 9.4. I have also downloaded the zip file, but no joy.
But I don't want the chat I'm seeing to show up in the game capture because I already have a layout including the chat separate from the game stream. Isn't there a chat tool that DOESN'T show up in the game capture???
This method does NOT show up in the game capture. The chat will only show up if you use a display capture. If you use a game capture then you're fine. I explain that at the end of the video :)

Honestly I'd recommend just getting a second monitor. Solves so many issues and is super convenient haha

I'd recommend seeing if you can download an earlier version of the plugin and see if that fixes it

I believe it should be fine for windowed mode, its mainly just fullscreen that causes issues :D

To access the settings of the app you right click the icon in taskbar then " Show Settings " (done for v1.04)

I tried to download it but my computer blocked it. It's not necesarily that i am tired of reading chat on my phone. It's more like i can't see it. I could see it before but it had a 30 second delay, and when i took the delay off i could not see any new messages
If your computer blocks it that just means it's a false positive alert. If you allow it through then it will work

If borderless windowed is an option, i'd recommend that since it's pretty much fullscreen

this is much easier, i dont have to think about how much battery i have and also i can freely use my phone. It maybe not better than buying second monitor, but they are very expensive.

i use 2 monitors but i still preefer using this since its easier then always checking on the right to see what is in the chat

I have followed the above instructions, and I am getting a massive error message that says that CEF Sharp.Dll is missing or something? any thoughts? I have tried different versions back to 8.0 from 9.4. I have also downloaded the zip file, but no joy.
I have also succesfully downloaded this onto another PC and it working fine.

But I don't want the chat I'm seeing to show up in the game capture because I already have a layout including the chat separate from the game stream. Isn't there a chat tool that DOESN'T show up in the game capture???
This method does NOT show up in the game capture. The chat will only show up if you use a display capture. If you use a game capture then you're fine. I explain that at the end of the video :)
