Don't feel bad brother. I've had 3 shitty divorces and finally purchased my first Gibson last year. In fact, since I ridden myself of my last wife I've been able to buy 5 Gibsons and 5 Fender Strats! It's unbelievable how much money you have on hand when you rid yourself of the leeches. Keep jamming and more power to you!
@@planetm.f.8122 Thanks brother, happy to hear things are looking up for you as well. Crazy thing is; I’m still paying her rent and utilities. I just don’t have somebody telling me no anymore 😂
TV finishes are not actually translucid but rather a thin finish over non grain filled porous wood, after the finish is applied wood filler is applied to fill the pores and make them “pop” and give that transparency look. You can do it with virtually any color
My favorites are natural finishes on all guitars. that's because I have an addiction to natural finishes. and my favorite Les Paul, is a 1976 Les Paul deluxe with a natural finish and a maple fret board. but second favorite is a black beauty.
Shell pink tends to work best on Fenders. It gives them that cool early 60s rock n roll vibe. I quite liked the Junior in it, but overall Gibsons don't really suit that shade. Thought experiment: how easy would it be to order an Explorer in shell pink...
I have a tobacco burst 78 Deluxe in great condition. It's my magic guitar. Use both pickups, turn volumes up to 8 or greater, turn tone knobs way down, plug into a Marshall and you'll get very warm unending sustain.
the Max Guitar Flying V looks fantastic. absolutely Southern Rock workhorse style. the Shell Pink LP is ok but ultimately i prefer that as a Strat color.
Good thing I'm happy with the three Les Pauls I do have that first one certainly is tempting. If that V would've been book matched as you say that would sure tie the headstock the body as well as yhe grain together nicely.
I remember seeing the Deluxe models sit for months (even years) in music stores in the early '80's. The mini humbuckers didn't seem to appeal to the guitarists in my metro area. Now to think of how valuable they are!
I could imagine getting that shell-pink Les Paul. I do like the notion of having a 3-H guitar with those half-and-half bobbins, and I would not have an issue with the middle pickup being there or they're not being a pickguard since I play fingerstyle as much as I can.
The Deluxe LP has such great wood grain , even on the back, those diagonal lines ! Oh and I guess some of the other guitars were cool...the Flying -V , yes, Nordic Blue LP, hell yes ...Thanks Trogly !
Great condition? What are you talking about? That thing’s covered in crazy finish checking… oh wait… nope that’s my screen, I dropped my phone at the grocery store yesterday
Trogly idk what you’re talking about, that guitar is awesome at 9:15 it looks like something Randy Rhodes would play or sum idk maybe it’s just me but that’s a nice one😊
Surprised myself recently in liking shell pink. I've been eyeing that Trini Lopez at GC for a while but haven't been able to justify it to myself yet, as I already have a Trini Lopez. I'd really dig the LP Custom one except for the three uncovered pickups. Don't feel that really matches the shell pink vibe The Junior is nice! 🤔
I bought a natural wood finish 99 Telecaster a couple weeks ago. I originally bought it with the intention of reselling it or trading it, but I'm falling more and more in love with it every day. I think I'm gonna throw a Little 59 on the bridge and keep it forever. 🥰
❤I saw the perfect guitar a year ago that 74 custom AAAtop you bought it was perfect please never sell. It someday I want to see it in your museum lol ❤😂
Trog, you need to pick that tobacco burst up. I know you're more on the collector side of things, but this would be the guitar you would keep in the house and play whilst the others are in display in your future muesum. That looks like a mightly fine piece (price not being a concern).
Trogly your right its a nice example of the Ara but 2nd alot of money for that hope he's left some room for haggling. Like the v and the kolar top. Boy your making my mouth drool but my pockets saying ouch. Great show bud ya that was regretted. Thanx for the info on 2nd opinion service. Highly quilted! Wow I hate the last one looks like dodo to bad it's a classic for that money and to do the modifications small fortune. I can't see it
The Les Paul Deluxe mini-humbuckers had those small pole pieces, and underneath the cover is the one screw coil plus a straight blade coil. Firebird pickups simply have two blade coils, and the full cover.
You see the perfect guitar, a black strat from the 90’s with a rosewood fingerboard and that fender logo that I love and then I remember I’m 13 and don’t have any financial assets
@@AmiGuitarIf it's put in it's case and out of the way when it's not being played, there should be no concern of broken headstocks... However most aren't as smart & careful as they should be with their LP's🤷!
More click bait. The crappy looking vintage LP Deluxe examples I’ve seen on your channel over the years has me wondering how much money my extremely beautiful and virtually mint condition 1976 natural top Deluxe might bring, today.
Lots of pink-phobic people seem to think the Rose Gold Modern Lite is "pink", but it's a stretch IMO. Shell Pink comes closer, but even that has a ton of white in it. Flamingos and bubble gum are pink. 🦩🦩🦩

I started working at a guitar store a few months ago following a BRUTAL divorce. Just pulled the trigger on my first Gibson. 22 Goldtop Deluxe 🤟🏻

You got rid of your wife and got a great Gibson instead.
Good choice.
"The leeches"? Brother, after *three* divorces you might need to consider that you're the reason your marriages fail
Well, it's just logic... What were you gonna do? Keep your wife and NOT have the Gibson???
Mini-humbuckers are great stuff, and yet somehow get written off as oddball or a compromise.

That was my Flying V ! And the Koa 68 , I sold them to the same shop
Ebony is my favorite Les Paul finish, but Tobacco Burst is a close second. That ‘78 is cool.
My favorites are natural finishes on all guitars. that's because I have an addiction to natural finishes. and my favorite Les Paul, is a 1976 Les Paul deluxe with a natural finish and a maple fret board. but second favorite is a black beauty.
2:25 was that a cold opening from Trogly? 😮
I really like that Nordic Blue guitar
A black stinger would look great on that shell pink custom
Looks like mine-not a Deluxe but a Standard. This is my fave colour on a Les Paul. That Koa custom might be the most beautiful I've ever seen.
Having a pick guard on that beautiful quilt top is criminal!!

I lived in Rochester and went to the great, great House of Guitars every week. I miss that store.

I like the shell pink custom, but Gibson prices are ridiculous
This looks very similar to my '99 Standard. I'm a huge fan of plain tops, there's something very low-key cool vintage about them.
I had that koa LP maybe almost 2 years ago. Sold it quickly, just couldn't bring myself to mess it up.
Holy shit this might be the only "regular" Les Paul I've ever liked. I always thought that Tobacco Bursts were the way to go.
The quilt top was nice. I think it was the best one today.

That’s a beautiful Deluxe! If it was around $3k, I would have thrown down my money! 😊
Nordic blue looks like a topographic map of the bottom of the ocean!
Love my Heritage Cherry Sunburst R0 Les Paul Standard 😁👍❤️

Well does this mean you've gone off the inflatable?
This video makes my collection of 7ea 2016/2017 Painted Over LPs seem like a bargain :D
Love the amount of LP Deluxe's this month!
That shell pink junior does not suck
Wow. Never seen this and have to ask: Does the outgassing of pick guards cause discoloration on fabrics?
Is that what TV stands for in TV finishes? Translucent varnish?

I think an Ebony finish looks best on a Les Paul Custom.
That shell pink LP would work with all black plastic. Those white pickups are not doing it...

This is the first time I’ve ever noticed pole pieces on a mini-hum.
The Les Paul Deluxe mini-humbuckers had those small pole pieces, and underneath the cover is the one screw coil plus a straight blade coil. Firebird pickups simply have two blade coils, and the full cover.
The more unique characteristics a guitar like an LP has the better IMO
rout it out for humbuckers!
