It's funny how nobody in this comment section refutes what this guy is saying. It's because he's correct. If the call had been made appropriately then it would have gone against Philly. It would have been a first down somewhere along the 10 yd line. Two things would have happened from there. Either Dallas would have ran the clock down after using Detroit's final timeout or they would have gone to actually run the ball into the end zone and made it to two possession game. Let's say Detroit would have ended up stopping them and held them to a field goal after that then Detroit would have got the ball back with somewhere between 10 or 15 seconds. I'm not a cowboys fan or a Detroit fan. The difference is that the call at the end wasn’t just an ordinary missed call or no call. The ref was basically spoon fed the play and decker reported as eligible to his face. And he still fucked up.
The difference is next play would've been 2nd&2 not 1st and 25 and Cowboys probably get another 1st down and milk the clock and make Lions use their Timeouts the Lions wouldn't have a chance to drive down the field

There was no tripping but there was a blatant hold on the play! The upstairs officials say what could be a trip on Dallas left guard on det 79. Yet the ref called 88 because if the sumo style hold he committed. 89 and Detroit all were saying hold was called!
He didn't trip him though, it wasn't even close to tripping, the runner already had passed him before his leg went out. so there shouldn't be any penalty, it could still very likely be lions ball anyways.
Yeah not sure what the refs saw. Lions fan. But Hutch #97 shouldn't have been flagged anyways. There's no rule for "attempting" to trip. It was all kinds of fuckery in this game.
