Yes company is selected by JIP team and the accomodation is provided by the company you'll be a part of

Can you tell how long does each interview round lasts?
Mine was 30 ~40 minutes long
Usually its about 25 minutes maximum

I got a call first then an email. The call was from Indian number in my case and I think everyone is getting call from different numbers.

Hi. I have done my 2nd interview last week but i haven't receive any news or email whether i pass my 2nd interview or not and i didn't receive any email asking to send documents. Usually how long does they take to announce the 2nd interview result?

They'll declare the 2nd interview results next month. That's what they told me in the interview. However they'll keep asking for documents in the mail. For me, they asked because I did not send documents beforehand. Did you already send them the documents before?

But in some cases, they've informed 1 day prior too.

I received my interview calls about two weeks after my submission. Hope it helps!
So wanted to ask you. That I was given companies links to apply for by METI Japan. I have not been contacted for intervies still by any company. What does this mean?? It is more than 2 weeks and still no interview call. The Internship duaration is between 26Aug and Nov 22.
I searched and found that METI only sends links to partcipants passing documentation screening.
there are 4 sets of internship periods, and one starts on oct 31st, so if you get selected you will fall into that category
I had my first interview today. It went well. They basically ask your background, your experience, what you'll do in the internship that will help your selected employee and such. I hope it helps!

*Indonesian Branch (couldnt find a good forum)* I applied in the first half of June and 2 weeks later I got an email for a general online orientation and that I will be contacted for the first interview "In the coming days" but so far I have not received anything more from them 😒.

I actually wanted to ask, what type of students usually get selected, like, if a person is in tech, what skills do they look for to hire interns?
If someone is a full stack web developer with a good CV, what is the chance of selection?

In this internship, they mainly look for interns who are open to working in various fields apart from their core skills. Since it's a global internship hence they expect interns should understand various cultural differences.
Indian techies have a good image overseas and they want to hire Indian people.
You definitely have a good chance of selection given full stack web developer as your major.

I spent mostly on my personal leisure trips and food and shopping... i spend about 200USD on my own....
Many of my friends were able to save 50,000 JPY from this internship
I didn't got any information regarding the first interview yet. I filled the form on 22nd June.

I chose medical and healthcare related skills. But sadly they said not many companies are interested in them. So my chances are slim.

Did you get any mail regarding that?
It is one of the evaluation for who has background in engineer science or technology, therefore no pass or fail I supposed.

Is it mandatory to have TOEFL or IELTS?
No. Its not mandatory to have TOEFL or IELTS score. Just need to be fluent in English.
Did you have to pay anything from your end durig your stay in Jpan or was the stipend enough to buy groceries/small travels etc?
Yes stipend was more than enough. For your safety you can carry some cash or card in case you wanna do shopping or travel on holidays.

So I'm applying for this year internship but I'm having this bigg concern. Due to my study schedule, I think that I cannot join the face-to-face course which I really want to. Should I wait for next year to re-apply and get the chance to go to Japan or should I just try my best this year to get an online internship slot?
Try this year.. just check how competitive this internship is... and next year prepare yourself accordingly

They are asking for documents. That's it. Even today they mailed for the backside of my passport but nothing more than that. Did you receive anything other than this?
No. Nothing beyond the documents.

For me, they didn't call or send an email asking for documents. No updates after the 2nd interview. Did they send you emails or calls asking for documents? Or did they just ask during the 2nd interview?

Documents are to be submitted once you clear all rounds of interview.
They will give you ample time to prepare your documents so dont worry

Only shortlisted one and even if u apply for web dev there's no guarantee that you'll get internship in that domain,you could end up getting internship in hospitality , manufacturing or something else totally unrelated and then you cannot deny the offer

This internship is research internship or simple corporate type internship.
This purely depends on the company.
You might get an internship with a company in which hardcore technical research can be given.
But you can experience many things from this one single internship given that you will be invited to Japan and have to work there.
Since japan has more natural disasters What safety measures will they take for interns, if we are selected for offline (c) internship?
During my stay in Japan i got to experience Typhoon Hagibis along with earthquakes etc
Just google about it... i am here safely commenting on this post after 3 years.. so i guess that answers your question.
Jokes apart, japan's technology is so advanced. They are well prepared for any natural calamity.
During my visit to japan last week i experienced earthquake too.. but their buildings are strong enough to handle many earthquakes upto certain limits....
Also there will be staff from pasona japan who will be in touch with you about your health and stuff...
So dont worry about it

Lol no! It pays around 18k rupees/per month for on-site internship.

@@ryshall8969 there were three sections, two of them to write code program and the last one consisted of 20 simpler multi choice questions

@@dhruvraj1075 we don't know which company we will be matched with so just try to show the interviewee your experience, skills and hope that one of them matches with what they're looking for. I'm majored in International Relations though, not really ideal for this internship, so I said I'm experienced in interpreting and media.

Hey Ankit, I belong to electrical branch but is it possible to apply for computer science field in METI Internship. Also do they have any aptitude round or online technical rounds etc or the process simply consists of application form and direct interviews?
Yes!! you can choose any field of interest for this internship.
Just make sure that you are able to justify that during your interview.
They might ask you some technical questions so as to know your understanding in that field.
There is no aptitude round.

They usually Inform on the second day of interview about the next round.
