My two favourite Canadian cities.
'Bienvenue à Québec' is for the city, 'Bienvenue au Québec' is for the province.
Turns out Ryan’s French isn’t as good as he thinks! 😅
Thank you for the tip!! Hope you enjoyed the video!
Oh Sherlock Holmes well done I must say LOL
@@bobb74ysmith well, did you know the difference?
Québec is a Country!
10:35… fun fact the church you see there was in the movie Catch me if you can, with Leonardo DiCaprio. They say it’s France but no.
We love fun facts! That’s so cool!!
I live in the neighbouring cities of Montreal, but I love going to Quebec City (just a two hour drive from Montreal). It has such a European feel to it which I absolutely love
Exactly! It is so wonderful. Thank you for watching!
I would have thought the distance between Montréal, and Québec was similar to the distance between Paris, and Strasbourg, or Marseille, and Toulouse (~4-hour drive).
@@mariusmatei2946 Around 3h.
Thanks for the lovely tour. Montreal and Quebec City are so beautiful 😍 and so cultured, I love it hope to get there very soon.
Glad you enjoyed it! Absolutely recommend taking a trip :)
@@ryanandtor I definitely will.
Yeah, Montréal is considered the "cultural capital" of Canada.
I am very happy you had a great time in our beautiful cities.
Revenez nous voir en été, vous serez éblouie.
Thanks for having us!!
Notamment en juin, et juillet.
The production quality is topnotch! I don't know how guys are not viral yet
Wow thanks so much!!! Thanks for watching! :)
Aahhh La ville de Québec ! My city, I live there and will die there. Québec, je t'aime !
I don’t blame you! Seems like an incredible place to live. Thanks for watching!
NO! Don't die son!
❤️Love Your Enthusiasm and Quebec! 🍁
Thank you for watching!!
Going to Quebec taking a tour of the old city, getting a view on the other side of the river and eating poutine while in town? You guys did it right :D
9:27 The 350 yr old building with the red roof Now a restaurant) is called la maison Montcalm, said to be the place General Montcalm died after losing the battle of Quebec, it was once one of the most photographed houses, in Quebec city.
Wow! Thanks for the info!!
@@ryanandtor No problem, maybe some day I will actually go in and eat there... if I win the lottery 😅(The prices are high there)
I’m a Montreal-er and I love Québec city, a must visit
We agree! Thanks for watching!!
My travel itch is going crazy right now. I really wanna go to Quebec.
Highly recommend!!!!
Quebec city 👌
Love this! Just went to Montréal myself and I agree with you guys 😍
very nice video and editing. I enjoyed Montreal on a recent visit. I look forward to visiting Quebec City.
Thank you so much for watching! Yes definitely recommend Quebec City!!
Welcome! I am someone who moved here from Ontario to go to McGill, and I never looked back!
Fantastic! Glad you’re loving it! Thanks for watching :)
I am living vicariously through these videos. So good!
Thanks so much friend!!!
You guys are great! Quebec city is so beautiful.......
Thank you so much! Yeah it really is. We can’t wait to get back there again someday!
Simply Lovely to watch!
They didn't have a washer and dryer? My family and I went in a motorhome across Canada. We really liked Montreal and Quebec City, Especially old Quebec City. Keep on filming.
Haha not that particular Airbnb!
Sounds like an incredible trip!
And we will, we have some big adventures coming up! :)
Thanks for watching!
Visiting in 2 weeks. Looking forward to it
Hope you enjoy as much as we did! Thanks for watching!
its nice to see my city 🤩nice video eric quebec city
Thanks for watching!
Beautiful place!
Glad you enjoyed your visit of my native province. My uncle, Jean-Paul Roy from Drummondville, created the poutine. I still prefer my fries with pure Canadian vinegar (it tastes a lot better than distilled American vinegar - they don't have pure white vinegar). The white cheddar cheese is extremely popular in the province and you can buy it at room temperature. Quebec City is my favourite Canadian city; it is beautiful, the women are lovely, people are very friendly and the history is very interesting. An excellent book to read is: Montcalm and Wolfe - The French Indian war written by Francis Parkman.
Thank you so much for watching!
That’s incredible!! Thanks so much for the info!! We loved our time there!
Sorry to break it to you bud but no one knows who invented the poutine.
Franco-Ontarien ici, je n'aime pas la poutine! :p

Little note: At the Mont-Royal viewpoint: It's the Chalet Mont-Royal not Chateau.
My mistake! Thank you!
Yes, older parts of North America have a good inventory of colonial architecture and look more 'European', for lack of a better word. You get the same feel in Mexico City and older parts of Boston/Philadelphia. That said, Montreal is one of my 2nd favourite world city.
Totally! I’d love to get to Boston!
We loved Montreal too!
Yeah, of all the largest cities in North America (to the north of Mexico), only Philadelphia, Boston, and Montréal have a good mix of modern American, and colonial/European architecture; Québec, however, stands uniquely in North America (north of Mexico), as it has managed to preserve almost exclusively its colonial architecture, and European culture/heritage.
@@ryanandtor yeah, one might say that Boston, and Montréal are "sister cities" (at least when it comes to their well preserved colonial/European heritage, and their feel/vibe).
Great video! Thanks for sharing.
What dates were you there? Early October?
Thanks for watching! We were there the 2nd week of October!
Try going up Mont Royale in February from the bottom, and slipping on an ice patch (I fell straight onto the back of my head which slammed into the sidewalk; thank goodness I was wearing a bomber jacket and tuque!
Glad you’re okay!
@@ryanandtor Thank goodness for traditional winter wear
I totally heard you say the word that basically screams "I'm from Alberta!!!" to all Canadians from other provinces:
"PARKADE"
This is just a phenomenally done video and you two are a lot of fun to watch! Great job!
What do you call it and where are you from? Ryan is from PEI and calls it a Parkade too! So interesting!!
Thank you so much for watching!!!
@@ryanandtor Well, Montreal's my hometown but I live near Toronto. Around here, people call it a "Parking Garage". It's just a little identifier like if I was in Calgary and was looking for bags of milk people would immediately know that I was from Ontario or Quebec. I had no idea that people in PEI call it that but I know that people in New Brunswick also call it a Parking Garage.
I actually really like the term "Parkade" because it makes me think of the fun arcade games that I used to waste my youth and money on. :D
@@ryanandtor Yeah, the other day, on a "American learns about Canada" video, someone called a parking garage parkade, FIRST time I EVER heard the term... no one uses it here in Ontario, as far as I know!
Butter!
Quebec City is a great way to visit europe without going to europe and for American friends, it's very cheaper.
Love you canada to all
Très beau vidéo 😉
Hi, where did you stay in Montreal, the place looks amazing, i am going to Montreal next week :)
An apartment with Sonder! Highly recommend :) have a great trip !!
@@ryanandtor thank you :)
J'aime beaucoup votre vidéo merci 🫶🏻 Denise xx
Merci beaucoup!!
Hi from quebec!
Vive Le Quebec
Well this is I guess the difference with the French. In Montreal the waiter asked me do you really want to test poutine ?
He was right, I did not liked
you don't like poutine ?
We can't believe this is canada... Because it is in fact Québec. ;)
When did you film this videos thanks?
Thanks for watching! We filmed it October 2021! :)
Canada has a lot of big and mid-sized cities, but does Canada have any charming small towns.
Niagara-on-the-Lake is a nice town.
Tourist trap ... a tacky Vegas style@@zacharymacnamara5363
Lac Delage , St-Sauveur, St-Adele, Mont Tremblant, Knwolton, North Hatley, Sherbrooke, Baie St Paul , MAlbaie , Tafoussac, Ile d'orleans , GAspé , Chambly, all cities on the south shore of Montreal , Chicoutimi , etc
What month did you guys went? Thinking of going late October but would that be too late to see fall colours?
We were there in the middle of October! (October 12-17) Some of the leaves were starting to fall, but it looked like they were hanging on for at least another week!
Sorry but you will Probably too late. Now in my area (40km North of Montréal) its just stating. Its also dépends of the weather (rain and wind) . Cross my finger to have a long season of the colors of the fall
Yes, they are mine, also; but the two English cities are Halifax and Toronto. The best of BOTH worlds. JMH
Thanks for watching!
You forgot Calgary ;)
(That’s where we are from)
If you only have 5 days to stay in one of those cities, which of the cities would you stay in?
I think we’d pick Montreal! So much to see and do!!
Before 1995, Canada, now, Europa.

Did you know Montreal was the capital of Canada ? What happened ? English speaking Tory mob burnt down the Parliament building so the Queen has to move it to Ontario . . But nowadays Montréal is still Canada 's capital of culture, history, architecture , design , food , night life , beautiful people , fashion and multiculturalism. A unique city between Europe( London in Old Montreal) and North America . . UNESCO design and creativity like Berlin . Montreal is built on a island 10 times bigger than New York Manhattan ., . I wish Canadians would embrace its French heritage more, as opposed to wrangling with it. The beautiful language and heritage add a richness to Canada , and not benefitted by Anglos trying to appear superior . I am appalled by the lack of respect ( and ignorance) by many Anglos when visiting Quebec- in their negative perception of quebeckers , the history to keep our language and the lack of attempting the French language. Quebec offers the best quality of life and everyone is welcome . I wish all Canadian would understand the history of Canada for the past 500 years and the role of Quebeckers in keeping the culture and identity .
Montréal is 400 years of history, architecture, culture , multiculturalism , UNECO design and creativity city like Berlin. Montreal is unique in North America with London , England architecture in Old Montreal . Best food , international chefs , festivals , biggest museum in Canada and parks , best night life and people are nice , open minded , you can be yourself in Montreal and multilingual .. there is no place like Montreal in Canada for its quality of life .
We certainly enjoyed our time in Montreal and your beautiful province!
Not k'anada, not Europe... Québec
The English speaking world is boring driven by intense social hierarchy and ruthless capitalism. It's worse in America than it is Anglophone Canada. Quebec would be a refreshing experience.
Uhhhh
Says the guy whose username is an American city
You sound bitter, arrogant and unpleasant
Capitalism isn’t the problem.
How so refreshing?
Encore un reportage bonbon. LES Américains ne s'intéressent qu'à la poutine. Alors que Montréal contient les meilleures tables après New York.
Everything was great to watch other than the stupid masks.
shut up .. go to school
Very entertaining video, thanks for sharing... Quebec City is very nice, but it's defo not a city, more like a town. It should be renamed.
What? Quebec city has a population of around 700,000 and is the capital of the province. What you are seeing in this video is only touristic old Québec city.
You have no idea, Bao...
Defo not a city ? For your general knowledge, a city can be also a title granted by the Monarch ( king or queen of England ) to a community and not based on the size of the town !
@@frankiesab777 It is in fact more that 800000 .
@@9grand Just funny that people watch those touristic videos and think that's all Québec city is.
