    I went to Quebec City during the first week of December and got to stay at the Chateau Le Frontenac for a couple of days. My tour was there to go to the Christmas markets. The hotel was awesome and beautifully decorated for the holidays. I would like to go back when the weather is a little warmer and investigate the old city some more. Thanks for sharing!

      That sounds like a beautiful time to visit Quebec City just before Christmas! We loved our stay at Fairmont Le Chateau Frontenac and especially enjoyed being there in the summer time. If you haven't watched it yet, here's a link to our video when we got an upgrade to the President Roosevelt suite during our stay. Thanks for watching :)

      It was quite beautiful. There was snow on the ground which made you feel in a holiday mood. We went to an interesting restaurant called Sagimente which was run by First Nations people. They specialized in dishes using wild game. The food was quite good.

    My family went to Montreal last year for three nights and is planning to go back this spring. I am thinking of staying in Quebec City for three nights and Montreal for 3 nights. With the first night being a write off since we will arrived after dark. Just checking it to see if 3 nights would be enough for Quebec City vs 4 nights. I am hoping to go back to Montreal in the future while we head to Ottawa and a road trip to Montreal anyway. Thanks in advance!

    Québec is one of the few cities in North America where gastronomy is accessible to the average person. Of course there is everything from fast food to pizza to breakfast restaurants. But you can find many good bistro or gastronomy restaurants offering menus at reasonable prices (and not 200$+ per person, as I've seen elsewhere...)

    I am going to Quebec City in June and I'm really looking forward to it. I had already planned to visit many of the sites you mentioned in the video, but now I have added the sugar shack to my list. Quick question: is knowing French essential when visiting Quebec? I took high school French and know some basics, (I've been learning some phrases I might need to say) but honestly, if someone started talking to me in French, I probably wouldn't be able to understand them. If that happens, I'm ready to say, "Je ne comprends pas...parlez-vous anglais?"

    • @TakeTimeToTravel
      @TakeTimeToTravel  Год назад +3

      Hi Sara! Our French is not the best, but we always try to speak in French whenever we're in Quebec. The people seem to appreciate that you are trying, and quite often quickly switch to English. We've never had a problem while spending time there, and I'm sure you won't either. Of course a smile always helps too lol. We hope you have a wonderful time in Quebec City :)

    • @robertallard759

      Bonjour à toi! I've always lived in Québec and I can certainly tell you that most people here who can speak english will appreciate your efforts to speak french and try to help you in your language, if you do so... Try not to smile too much at the accent, though... Lol...

    • @TakeTimeToTravel
      @TakeTimeToTravel  2 года назад +3

      I think if you stay right in Quebec City, they are quite tourist friendly and it shouldn't be a problem. To be honest, we've never had a problem with our limited French, but we always make sure to at least greet people in French, and to be aware that we are the visitors in their city and not expect them to speak English (although for the most part they do). We have found that if you are polite and friendly, they will be too. I'm sure you will have a wonderful time :)
