- Johnson's dominance, built on even pacing and strategic mastery, stands in contrast to the aggressive starts and slower finishes that characterize many modern sprinters. His second-half splits, often near 22 seconds, remain unmatched over three decades. Meanwhile, Tebogo’s rapid development-evidenced by world-record-breaking performances at shorter distances-signals a promising future.
I've been saying for almost a year that if Tebogo ever starts focusing on the 400, he's going to break the world record. Everyone laughed until they saw that relay split at the Olympics.
That 400 record ain’t going nowhere bro😂
@@abone2pickPeople thought the same thing about Butch Reynolds' record, but then came MJ. Van Niekerk's record isn't as untouchable as you think. Just look at what Tebogo did to his 300 record in the beginning of the season without even being fully in shape. We'll see what happens.
@@thehumanracehasfailed yet no one today can even match mj or reynolds times😂… the 300m is not the 400m sir and would certainly favor a 200 specialist like tebogo over wade…realistically his record is as untouchable as bolts records and it’s sad to see people not respect it as such👎🏼
Wasn't Tebogos split 42.99? They showed it right after the relay final.
no, 43.03s that was adjusted to 43.04s
Streets need a Kishane Thompson video
Great vid
I have a 400 tomorrow let’s apply
Update us bro
Lmk how it went
How did it go??!
why do you think modern sprinters go to fast on the start? like who thought it? who was the starter? i don't understand. My own 400m personal best is 24.5+26.2. if i can do it (on a much slower pace i know) how cant top sprinters dont achieve this?
People have always gone out fast throughout history. Plenty of sub21.0 through 200m beginning with Fred Newhouse in early 70s, Innocent Egbunike would go out suicidally fast in 80s, Quincy Watts in peak. In recent years, tracks used for major competitions are constructed with wider curves for smoother bends. Will help towards faster times
Part of the logic they employ behind it is that the final 100m will be death. It'll crush most professionals as well and they know that. So they think it's good to take out as much as possible while you have the energy at the start and try hang on for dear life after. That's my opinion at least
@@alansamuel2454yea I agree and that’s why niekerk is still that guy!
@@YoungKolivon451 I'm a big WVN fan as well. Hoping he at least medals at the World Championships this year or has some final glory before retirement. I wish him all the best and hope he can get back to running sub 44 cause that's the very minimum required to medal at most global championships.
@ I agree! I also use his same strat in my 400m and its help me to run 52 and I know as I get faster in the shorter distances that will improve but Niekerk will always be him esecially because he broke the world record in an outer lane that takes skill and determination
I never liked fast starts, I always start a bit slower in the 400m, also in the 800m I don't like fast starts.
Распределить то можно по дистанции, только вот нужно обладать запасом по скорости, которого как правило нет у тех кто хочет бежать из 44 секунд. А если его нет, распределение тут не спасет)
Yes, it is, but the problem is that those who have that speed don't want to run evenly.
Разве Маккинли когда-то бежал 440 ярдов за 45 секунд? Его рекорд был 46.0 Возможно он так бежал в эстафете. Рубеж 45 секунд на 440 ярдов впервые был преодоление только в 1963 году 44.9
He ran по прямой, it was non standard race
@@TheWayToWin Thanks for sharing, I know about McKinley but never heard of this race ever before.
He prolly would have ran 42.8 split tebogo ran multiple rounds before he ran 7 rounds before running the split
Agree. There is so much beating the legs can take and there was not enough rest between the rounds. Still, it was very fast, so it makes sense that Tebogo thinks he can run some fast times in the 400m without extra rounds in his legs.
He can do anything he wants honestly. But I want to see someone really go out for the 400m WR because there's a chance that the one to do it would likely break 43 and that would be insane in my opinion. Bolt's 200m time is good but it's nowhere as singularly fast as his 100 was. The gap between his 100m to the 2nd best is more than 0.1 seconds but his 200m is only 0.07 seconds, the next guy is 0.12 away, and the next is 0.13 away. Blake would have beat it in his 19.26 race with an average start.
19.3 первые 200м, пусть и с ходу, - это очень сомнительно. Какой был метод замера времени?
come thats tebogo from a standing start
это вроде не со старта, а батон передали
