- Lakers Austin Reaves is coming off solid but disappointing season. Lakers Nation has seen Austin Reaves play alot of golf but not alot of basketball and JJ Redick talked about Lakers needing to work on his conditioning. Lakers News of a better Austin Reaves is needed for the Lakers success.

Austin Reaves told JJ Reddick on his podcast that he thinks about golf in the middle of nba games.
I don’t think he’s training at all this summer. A month before training camp isn’t enough for Reaves. The best players take a few weeks off at the most after the season, then They’re back in the gym continuing to work on Their games as early as late June.
It’s what Kobe did, it’s what Lebron, kd, Tatum, Brunson, Edwards, Kyrie, etc do.

austin aint no star or best player, he is unathletic guard who is mediocre from 3, alright in the PNR, mid off ball, and atrocious defensively. Too much nonsense from lakers channels. Caruso is worlds better than Reaves bc he knew his role and excelled in it. There is way too much "woulda" "coulda" "shoulda" with Austin. Too often Austin is trying to do too much, failing to do it, and then gets exposed on D. Austin's peak is 6MOY people need to accept it. The guy was undrafted for a reason. Payton Pritchard is better than him but barely saw mins on the defending champs in the playoffs, tells u where we are talent wise/roster wise. All bc Rob and co wanna act like he is a star. FREAKIN NONSENSE
max christie with austin reaves' loose leash the last 2 years would be/is better than austin reaves and he's already worlds better than him defensively and from 3 esp from the corner. there is no reason y christie should not start over Austin reaves if we were starting reaves.
@@CJ-ot5wpafter gold and when nba training camp begins reaves needs to go in the gym and work on his three point shots and work on some dribbling drills moves crossover moves and go to the damn weight and gain some muscle and get some muscle in his arms and his legs as well cause his arms he doesn’t even lift weight frl frl but he probably do only a little bit but he needs to lift them dumbell curls at least go lift like 45 pounds of dumbbells and do like 2 sets of 10 and get some muscle in his shoulders as well

I’ve complained about this before. I don’t see him putting in the work. He’s getting blown by he gets fatigue cause he doesn’t have the conditioning.
But he’s the mascot, and the white dude that Rob sees as himself when he was on the fab five free loading! He wants Austin to look good to make him look like he found some gem. Dude will be able to float around continuously play no defense. And they’ll blame dlow or who ever is the other guard. He’ll never get called out! Look at this dude won’t tell the truth excuse after excuse. They could have traded this bum got Murray from ATL and been playing Boston for a chip! But that’s not the focus. @theeonlyreal Noone has ever said that he's untouchable. What they said is they won't just give him away. That's a big difference. There's no guy in the league that gets paid like him with as much production. Unfortunately the players the Lakers want they can't afford. That's really the issue.
Reeves came off the bench on that usa team and wasn't logging heavy minutes. In no way should he been worn out at the start of the season. Plus he young!!! He was not staying in shape in the off-season.
And his defense was the reason they lost. Germany just kept going to whoever Reaves was guarding
But you keep training... and he didnt stop, he didn't get the rest. If you keep training all along season, there's fatigue obviously.

They are not the same player. Dalton is a true off ball movement shooter. Reaves is more of a hooper with a high iq. He shoots spot up.

You can’t make an entire video about this than say it’s not a major concern. It absolutely is a major concern. He is a 16 mil a year player that we need to trade for an upgrade at the position while we can. He is not “him” but we could find him if we trade Reaves. All we should see from him is videos of him working on his 3pt shot not his chip shot. You nailed this video and definitely is a major concern. I've been saying this! pre-fame Austin "awwww shucks I'm so happy to be a Laker and plying for Kobe's team, it was my dream" post contract Austin " Now I can finally afford to play at a good golf course, man Id really love to be a member of this legendry golf club" He's hit his celling, I'm okay with trading Austin for a better fit even if he goes on to have an All Star career. AR needs to work on His Ball 🏀 Handling Skills and getting Stronger similar to Carushow’s Body/Strength Transformation in His 2nd/3rd Year.
And, I think 🤔 all AR does is Play ⛳️ Golf & Play 🏀 Basketball.
Caruso and Reaves have different bodytypes.. it's no that easy to bulk up or getting stronger like this player etc, doesn't work like that. Caruso got stronger due to training and genetics, he had that body type. Reaves can get stronger but probably you wouldn't notice it. Doncic bodytype it's not like Caruso and look at him playing.

AR wasn’t good last season defensively but he seems nonchalant about winning. His ball handling skills, tunnel vision, and defense needs work.But he could be putting in the work and not recording it😅

In his last interview with Lakersnation he said that he went straight to play with USA last summer and couldn't get to work his game then he got himself into training camping with lack of rest. He's main goal this season is to get stronger upper body for defense match ups.
Anyway, Reaves numbers got even higher when Lebron or Dlo wasn't available. Dlo, has a lot the ball in RS as well as AD and LJ. We could easily see him in other scenario scoring nearly 20 ppg, like he did in 2023 PO. He was clutch. He's a great player with a "friendly" contract.
What’s scary is that Reaves said the “only” thing he needs to work on is gaining 5 lbs of muscle. Which just isn’t true.
He needs to work on his shooting and ball handling this summer in addition to strength and conditioning.

@@antisocialraiding4444he already has ball handling dribbling skills he can dribble it’s just that his three point shot he needs to work on forget that 5 pounds of gaining muscle he needs to gain more muscle in his arms and shoulders frl frl and the lakers been told him to get in the weight room and he’s 6’5 so i expect him to get in the weight room this summer work on his legs and get those dumbbells and lift a lift 45 pounds of dumbbells so that he can get some muscle in him he can grow at least 2 inches taller will make him 6’7
@@Antawanknight780 Did you notice that Austin Reaves is unable to get around his defender without a screen? Jalen Brunson, Kyrie Irving, and Jamal Murray can though. None of the players I mentioned are anymore athletic than Austin Reaves is, They’re just better ball handlers than Reaves.
Also I’m EXPECTING Reaves to get in the gym and work on his game as well, we all are. I just don’t think he hasn’t yet.
After his golf tournament this weekend, he’s going on a multi-week asia tour to promote his shoe.
Austin Reaves’ schedule just isn’t the schedule of someone that’s looking to take a major leap next year.

i guess its all perspective. because i thought austin was consistent. because if his shot wasnt falling he would atleast give you some rebounds or some assists or both. and its not like he gave you 0 point games which i believe prince had three of those as a starter last year. you just really didnt get to see how much he helped until prince got benched. they had a losing record when prince started. replace prince with rui or vando and this same unit tore it up. thats how bad prince was
More lame excuses. With tired legs, Reaves played all 82 games last season, which is uncommon in today's NBA. Plus he had the all-star break. The problem is he's now on the opposing team's scouting reports and he wasn't getting those cheap calls from the refs. You'd better hope that it wasn't tired legs or Lebron in AD are in trouble. You can already see that it's gonna be a long season for Lakers fans.
