- Lakers D'Angelo Russell in the regular season is a excellent player but has really had his struggles come the playoffs. Lakers Nation wants a Lakers Trade and DLO gone but Lakers News of DLo being better might be more likely thanks to head coach JJ Redick.

I'm a big advocate for keeping DLo, he's a solid pg for the value. If we go back to our line up they got us to the wcf we'll be alright. Reddick will put players in the roles they should be in, and should make better in game adjustments.

@trgrgtgrtgr7724 Vincent, Vando, and Wood were injured for a significant portion of the season, what are you talking about better roster? Hamm put Dinwiddie in a 3 and D role, misused Rui Hachimora, and Wood, and tried turning DLo into an off ball shooter. Not to mention TP and Reddish getting way too much playing time early on. If you watched them play last year you'd see that our role players were misused, in game adjustments were non existent, and our offense got stagnant far too often. It takes more than 2 players to succeed in modern NBA. And it's not just about a first year head coach, he's surrounded with talented coaches. The lakers definitely aren't favorites to win a title, but it's not out of the question.
@@michaelschwerter9112 Gabe Vincent is trash, Wood wasn’t injured for a significant portion of the season. The only significant rotation players that missed the season is Vando. And having a role player injured is no excuse as to why we almost missed the playin with AD and LBJ healthy all season long.
And then for the bad coaching of Ham, im with you on that. The guy was terrible. But it’s not like we’ve added Pop or Spo to replace him. We hired a guy with absolutely no experience.
So to think that, after we’ve lost our best bench player for nothing without replacin him, just because we have a new rookie head coach, we’re suddenly going to be good, that’s just being delusional.
We, Lakers fans, do this shit every fucking offseason. We hype up a mediocre roster, the mediocre roster has a mediocre season, we’re getting mad, we ask for changes, no change happen, we find excuses for the FO, we hype up a mediocre roster and the cycle continues.

D lo pace of play is off beat. Which is great for him when he’s ball dominant and looking to score. The problem is when he has to run the team w/Lbj on the court or when he has to play off the ball when Bron runs point. If he figures out the on beat timing he will kill in both roles.
Ok Maybe I just see DLos playoff performances differently than others. For much of his career DLo has been a primary playmaker and widely considered a ball dominant player. he gets traded to the Lakers and now he is playing off ball more but we know offensively coaching was nonexistent with DHam and they were playing him primarily in a off ball roll in the playoffs and very few plays were being run smh. I do think JJ can really unlock DLO as a roaming sniper, and a part time point guard.

As much as I am a Zach Lavine fan, this does makes sense. He is an excellent point guard and I was for keeping DLO and trading Reaves for Zach but the Lakers were not gonna give up Reaves so I was fine with giving up DLO for Zach or Murry but who knows what the FO is doing

With Brooklyn, he was all they had offensively and Philly knew that so they had Ben Simmons and Jimmy Butler face guard him.
With Minnesota, Chris Finch ran 70% isolation with KAT and Ant Edwards thrusting DLo to the corner where he barely even touched the ball. That's not who DLo is
With the Lakers, he was allowed to do what he does against the Grizzlies and Warriors but when it came to the Nuggets, same thing took him off ball and put him in the corner.

D'Lo was 18 and 6 and +40% from 3 on HIGH volume and he also had a low turnover rate.
Don't forget his defense, is he a stopper? Absolutely not, but his wingspan allows him to be a playmaker on that end. He gets a lot of pass deflections and surprisingly a block once in a while.
Side note. If Max can hit that next level and become a 12-15ppg scorer, AR has to be 6th man.

I think the Lakers should play DLo similar to the way Curry was used on team USA. As an off ball movement shooter, a DHO target and a screen setter.

Im in the small camp of lakers keeping the roster intact & hopefully, a big if i kno, they stay healthy - healthy vando & G Vincent will be a plus - imo they have more talent than sac, g st , phx, clips, Minn, new orl, & yes the mavs - i believe DH was the isdue for their losing to den - his adjustments were non- existent - refused to put joker in pick & rolls - also the blueprint os out on how to wear down Luka ( tbf if Luka comes back in elite shape then he will be hard to even slow down) i wont be suprised if lakers get to wcf & 2 more things, i think JJ is being slept on w/ his coaching & RUI will be put in position to be elite

Laker fans, lebron fans, dlo is not the problem it's when lebron gets iso itchy that has cost the lakers not to advance in the playoffs these past 2 seasons. If jj can get lebron to stop doing that during close games, lakers can finally do something with the roster they have.
Keep in mind lakers don't have hamm running the show, hopefully no more shenanigans of having certain players from last year getting undeserving mins just cause they are considered "vets".

Who’s the better playmaker? LJ is. Also, happens when LJ sits? Teams typically make runs. This has been a part of his entire career so it’s not unique to this Lakers team.
D-Lo does need the ball in his hands in order to be affective but he needs to understand that the smarter higher IQ playmaker will have the ball in his hands more when games count so he should figure out other ways to impact wining. It’s that simple.
LJ trusts other playmakers until they show him otherwise. D-Lo has showed otherwise too often, especially in his first playoff run.

Plus him & Lebron Worked really well together while he was there. & I would try & trade Cam Reddish as well, to free up another roster spot, to bring in Mac McClung.
