Hey guys, so quite a few of you were wondering why I don't explain how to B-Reverse or Wave Bounce if they are important to Mewtwo's movement. The reason is because I've already explained how to perform them in a previous video. So if you're confused/struggling with B-Reversing/Wave Bouncing, I highly recommend watching my guide then coming back here once you get the hang of it!
I wanna take the time to make a comment to send respects to Keiji Fujiwara, Mewtwo's SSBU/SSB4 voice actor, who passed away from cancer on the 12th. RIP, you legendary voice actor.

Mewtwo's movement is probably one of the best in the game. His fluid mobility allows him to do so much that other characters can't.
Especially with shadow ball being an amazing and flexible projectile that he can pressure with

So I've picked a character to become my main in this holy grail of a game and omg thank you so much for putting so much effort into this character. I've mained mewtwo for a while now but haven't put the effort into actually getting gud with him but your mewtwo guides sure have helped.

y is nobody talking about how insane how mewtow is
Its probably the tail, precision of teleports, and weight. Tons of people love his tech and speed, but wind up feeling like it just feels wrong when they get hit, or they SD teleporting at what seemed like a good angle. The instinctual patterns that work as most characters have to be executed farther away, earlier, or replaced altogether, especially since at his weight two lost neutrals at a high level means you're at kill percent to a raw back air in a ton of common matchups. That higher barrier of entry is all it takes.
He still ought to see enough representation to show that high tier potential imo, but it's just less popular because it's harder and more punishing than playing almost any character with anything in common with him, and it feels wrong.
I always suck when playing smash and since Mewtwo is my fav character, these videos are amazing to me.
Seeing how these techniques work, I am given hope that I will beat my friends

It is way easier to teleport cancel with Palu & Zelda, so I thought going in that I would be able to get a handle with Mewtwo fairly quick, but that was a lie. I look forward to watching that video as well. I have a few weeks worth of lab work to do.

Btw. How can you maintain the upwards-momentum, while using confusion, the way you did at 4:49 ?
i know this was posted over a year ago but as far as i am aware after the second confusion in air it no longer stalls you. I'm not sure if that's what he did but that might be why. it is also possible that something else stalled him and that caused the confusion to not stall him.

I dont know if it's just me, but whenever I verse mewtoo as inkling I destroy them, they are big targets who die in 2 hits, all I need is side b fsmash, is it a bad mu for them or just me
😖😖😖 This looks so hard to even begin trying to pick up. I feel so straight forward playing him as a Ganon main that I don’t get great results from him but he is my favorite Poke. How do I get gud with him in the first place??? Also what’s the matchup against Pika? Trying to really learn another character and I might pick him up as well depending on how Mewtwo work out for me. I love these videos of yours. Straight to the point, clearly explained, with good audio and visuals. You clearly put a lot of work into this, and I'm grateful. I'm a relative newcomer to smash in general. With over 60 characters, how well known is Mewtwo's tech? I know you said that b reversing and wave bouncing is something most (all?) characters can do, but it feels like Mewtwo has so many options. Maybe it's just because you take the time to explain everything so thoroughly.

What is a B reverse?
To be honest I prefer a more grounded style with mewtwo. Using shadowball on the ground or quike short hop b revers. To abuse his top 20 walk speed and ftilt/dtilt
I haven't seen this approach, but I appreciate the novel look at such an aerial character!
Do you prefer playing on FD then, or can you play grounded effectively on any stage?

One thing I have not seen talked about is stalling off stage using disable. Its sometimes pretty good
Something that works good online is the classic ledge option: drop, jump, disable, regrab ledge, roll. It should be easy to punish but I rarely get punished for it.
As a stalling tool, why would you use disable instead of confusion?
@@ericburtron7568 because you can do it multiple times, and the hit box keeps you relatively safe.
