Although unpopular, I always felt Anakin could defeat palpatine in rots if he was both a) determined and b) focused. People really underestimate his power and capability because they see him at his mental worst and just assume that to be his full capability. Note that it's really close, like 55/45, palps is still incredibly dangerous, but he isn't nearly as battle hardened which is important.
Jedi Anakin, yes. Sith Anakin, no. At that time, Anakin had only just begun to use the dark side, so there is no chance that he'd defeat Sidious with it. Also, from what we've seen, he never learned to counter sith lightning
As far as I know, post IH Anakin can defeat pre order 66 Palpatine seeing as his power grew after defeating Dooku. He is in league with Yoda and Windu (Anakin is 3rd strongest Jedi for the prequel era Jedi) according to Nick Gillard, the stunt coordinator for the lightsaber choreography along with some other sources
He also knows nothing of the dark side at this point, while Sheev is its very embodiment. The keeper of all the Sith knowledge that has survived over the course of almost 7000 years. He would mop the floor with Anakin. It's not even certain that Mace beat Sheev, it might have been part of the ploy to turn Anakin. But if he did it was all due to Vaapad, which is imbalanced to say the least.
If Anakin was strong enough to beat Sheev he would have mopped the floor with Yoda, which is of course ridiculous. Sheev and Yoda were in a league of their own in Episode 3. That's not to say Anakin wouldn't have surpassed them in his 30s, but then his duel with Obi-Wan made all of that impossible. The story is about Anakin but he was never the most powerful character. That was always Sheev. That's why Anakin's sacrifice in Episode 6 is even more heroic than it appears, he killed Satan himself but died in the process. A bit like Elendil and Gil-galad. Even though Sauron is more like Beelzebub, Satan's strongest follower.

I agree with you. Anakin was able to defeat Dooku quickly after he tapped the Dark Side. That is an IMMENSE feat. People don't understand that because they only see Dooku in the two films. But Dooku is a guy that fought Yoda twice in canon (AOTC, Yoda Comic) and did very well (he actually disarmed and shocked Yoda in the duel on Tatooine), and fought Mace on Ridley (also canon) in 20 BBY and casually stalemated him. Dooku had repeatedly defeated Anakin, had embarrassed Ani/Obi on Oba Diah in 19 BBY, and had killed Master Tiplee as if it were nothing while fending off Obi-Wan at the same time (Son of Dathomir). Dooku was so powerful and such a master duelist that the Jedi Council in early 19 BBY all but admitted that no single Jedi, not even Yoda or Mace, could defeat him, and that is why they ok'd assassination attempts using subterfuge (Dark Disciple). Indeed, in the ROTS novel, the Jedi Council were incredulous that Anakin had defeated Dooku, and believed it was a fluke. Moreover, according to canon sources, Dooku was a better swordsman than Sidious. So, long and short, Anakin's defeat of Dooku was an incredible feat that heavily suggests that he was fully capable of defeating Sidious, moreover Sidious just got done with a draining duel with Mace. I think Anakin had a puncher's chance, maybe more, for sure. Anakin by then had the trinity of dueling: Speed, Strength and Skill.
The worst thing of the tragedy of anakin is that you change just a little thing, and suddenly you get a good ending, it was so avoidable and yet it happend anyway...
Palpatine's entire plan relied on convenient circumstance after convenient circumstance. And the Jedi playing PERFECTLY into how he expected without an iota of deviation
A very dark story, but one with a happy ending where peace has come. Anakin is the one who brought balance to the force. A good ending.
yes and all it took was anakin to suffer a fate far worse then death for an agonizing 20+ years. i argue with the sheer constant state of pain he was in he had to been far stronger then palpatine in the dark side it never made sense to me that palpatine was as strong as he was without going through a very horrific experience that all legendary sith went through of course his dueling skill is without question but force wise very strange

Wed still had episode 1 just with no jar jar but episode II would change halfway through the film since Jar Jar isnt there to vote for emergency powers in Padme's place. It would have just delayed the inevitable cuz some senator was sure to vote for it eventually.

What if Mace Windu killed Palpatine before Anakin arrived.
Then Mace would have turned and become the Emperor. And if Anakin had protested he would have been made to "take a seat". On a more serious note, nothing would have happened. Anakin was pushed over the edge by the actions of both Mace and Sheev, if these actions never took place he would not lash out against Mace like he did. He would simply fall in line, like he did when they left him in the hangar bay. Now, over the course of several months he might have turned on his own, out of spite for Mace, but that's a good question for another time.
Yes windu had his lightsaber out first, but palpatine attacked first, windu should’ve just ended it instead of threatening arrest. Anakin probably would’ve been EXTREMELY pissed unless they made him a master but without siddeous there to fall back on he either would’ve just left the order, or been made a master had he kept it together earning windu’s trust
What if count doku turned back to the light side moment before anakin killed him,and helped obi wan train luke.
Windu could had been hit by Sith Lightning&instead of being thrown out of the window, he just stayed inside Palpy's office&was electrocuted a lot more that he'd die.
What if Padme became Force Sensitive as she was powered up the wazoo with a high count of Midichlorians. She's also having visions&premonitions of Anakin turning into Vader. The unborn twins would also protect her giving her feelings to hide whenever there's a threat to her&later stall Anakin from going to Palpy's office. Maybe Padme would inform Anakin of the unborn twin's activities in protecting her. This could had changed Anakin's peace of mind that Padme will be safe. This delay could had screwed up Palpy's schedule from the Jedi Master's confronting Palpy and Ahsoka arriving to Coruscant with Darth Maul revealing Palpy as Sidious. Ahsoka asking for Anakin's assistance to securing Darth Maul as Maul's worried that he'll be taken out by Palpy to prevent his testimony&evidence.
these videos always make me want a star wars version of the "What If..." storylines like in marvel, i think they could get some serious attention for stuff like that and i always wonder why they haven't done that yet

Interesting. I think Maul would make a play to take over the Separatists and continue the war if Sidious (and Dooku, Grievous, etc..) were gone. But that is a minor side story.
These 18min are so much better than the entire trilogy Disney threw at us..nice work
Video #21 of the campaign: I wonder what you could cook up with this idea - "What if Anakin died in the Battle of Coruscant ?". I was personally interested in seeing what would happen if Anakin crashed into a munitions crate or something, dying in the cockpit of his crashed fighter. How would that affect Obi-Wan and Sidious's plans ? Maybe Dooku could finally convince Obi-Wan to join him, or something else. Perhaps with Dooku arrested, the Jedi order would believe him and stop Palpatine, either killing him or arresting him. For the Jedi, the prophecy of the Chosen One would turn out to have been wrong, but in reality, Anakin not living to join Sidious would've probably been a better fate for the galaxy. Alternatively, Sidious could perhaps still salvage the situation, making his empire stronger. I think it could be another 2 part episode.

This was great, Anakin would see what palpatine really is and put an end to him, not only that Obi Wan, Yoda and other jedi would be proud of Anakin, Obi Wan, Yoda and that would had said to Anakin you have done well, you’ve did what was necessary, you prevented a threat and brought balance to the force!!
I loved it; I just wished there was a way Windu could've been saved; he's my 4th favorite Jedi behind Anakin, Obi-Wan, and Ashoka. Maybe Anakin arrives in time to see Windu in total defeat, uses to force to pull in out of harm and the remainder of the story stays the same.
You forgot to include Ahsoka and Maul, the latter of whom could be used to provide evidence and testimony regarding Palpatine's true identity and machinations

Thank you for the story, your build up with Anakin's thoughts as he observed the dead Jedi worked well to make his decision to not trust Palpatine the reasonable path. Great use of tension building towards whether Order 66 would be given and your timing was that last minute as he began to speak. Well done.

I feel like Anakin would basically put down his light saber for good after this and become a semi retired Jedi at best if he remained in the order. Like he'd probably solely focus on teaching if anything.

What if; Anakin never gave into his feelings for Padme, Aayla Secura was the chosen one and became Darth Talon, Shme Skywalker was adopted by the Tusken Raiders, Boba Fett saved his Tusken family, Count Dooku was a regular count for the CIS, Jabba the Hutt supported the Jedi at the Start of the Clone Wars, and finally, what if Sabine and Ezra fell in love?

The way you paced abd phrased this one, makes me wonder if there was an Order 60 that we never knew about, and now the Clones are not arresting any chancellors or slaughtering any Jedi but running around doing whatever that was supposed to be.

@@theluftwaffle1 I do not think that there was an order 60 in Canon per se but when the emperor was interrupted trying to execute order 66 and got cut off, it sounded like The number 60 was set instead. It would have been interesting to see what would an order number 60 look like that's all

I doubt the Separatists would surrender, remember they still had an entire senate and a grip on the outer rim. It is more likely that they would restart peace negotiations and end the war that way, therefore both factions would remain and planets could freely become independent from the Republic.

George Lucas said mace windups beat palatine fair in square and that palpatine did not try loose deliberately . so if mace were to die I still believe Anakin would kneel before sidious as in the original timeline he walked pass the corpses of the other Jedi masters and it didn't push him away from sidious

what-if scenarios with Palpatine just being struck down in anger are hard to accept because we are talking about someone capable of superhuman speed and able to suddenly shoot lightning from his fingers. That isn't someone who just gets run through suddenly or sliced and diced because they didn't expect it
Now do what if Anakin joined the dark side????
