Spent some time with Epson support who concluded I would have to send the printer away but as out of warranty a local technician would be the answer. Wouldn't tell me what he thought the problem was. It is beyond belief that they would go through the process of sending a machine back and forth for a loose cable. Thank you for helping out. Took me 2 minutes to fix.
Second time I've used this printer out of the box and I got this error. Exactly the issue, bottom ribbon was completely out. This fixed it in no time. Thanks!
I have a 4205 and was getting this error. It was a brand new printer also. Your video saved me a lot of time and frustration!! Thank you!! That one wire was the problem and now it’s fixed and working great! Thank you so much!!!
Very clear and concise video. Sadly, neither cable on my XP-4105 looks like it's disconnected and pushing them more tightly onto the terminals hasn't solved the issue for me. Having read some of the other satisfied customer comments, I'll go in for a third try and disconnect and reconnect them both... thanks nonetheless for an excellent tutorial.
@@jessbrown1719 Nope, it's sitting in a corner thinking about its bad attitude. I pursued it via the Epson "helpline" who recommended an authorised repair at twice the price of the printer. I bought a Canon. 🤫
Thanks for the video. Well done - this is the second printer I've fixed by watching RUclips videos. Mine had this error right out of the box. I opened it up and the cables looked fine but they weren't. I pulled the blue tab on the cord and the cord slid out from the clip (i'm used to having to pull out by the clip but that wasn't the case here). I slide both cords out, secured them back in, powered on the printer and the scanner "bar" immediately popped back into place. I got the error one last time, powered on/off again and now it's working as it should. Definitely some type of manufacturer defect here.
Thank you for this! Same problem here with a brand new XP-3105 model - cable was just hanging there, not even close to the port. Not very cool on a brand new product - but fixed now, thanks to you! 😊👍
Cheers for this - I was in a mad rush and as usual when you want something to work in the nick of time certain laws present themselves. Copied your instructions and all is well in the world again.
Brilliant, this was the exact problem and easily fixed...thanks a million. Other, so called, online expert solutions about reinstalling software etc was misleading and incorrect.
merci de cette vidéo elle m'a permis de réparer une erreur de manipulation l'ors du nettoyage des buses . j'avais un peut trop tiré sur les fils nappes en ouvrant le capot plus que ne le permet la tige de maintien bleu merci encore
It works! My cables didn’t even look loose but it worked nonetheless. Thank you. Edit: I ended up returning the printer to Best Buy bc the issue came up again and the fix didn’t work the second time
WOW!! This worked!!!! Thank you SO much. I shouldn't have had to do all of this though on a brand new printer smh, but yay I'm happy I found your video. :)
holy shit was this helpful, i was looking around my printer trying to figure out the issue and i was relieved to see it was a fixable problem, thanks for the help!!
Thankyou. The printer decided to suck back in a printed page and completely chew it up rendering it useless, in the effort to retrieve it I pulled both those cables out of their tabs.
Thanks, (XP-4105) both cables were out and after putting both back in the menu is now completely different, also the firmware immediately updated afterwards, I suspect that one cable has been out since purchase and it thought it was a different model.
I have the XP 3105 and for sure thought I was going to have to replace it, but this video helped me fix it in less than 5 minutes! Thank you so much!!!
So I received this same error on my Epson 7820, which is a much bigger printer but I hoped the repair would be similar as I could find no repairs online for this error. I popped off the left side of the machine, that part seemed to have the large gears so I hoped that the other part locations would correspond. The interior looks very different than in your video so I am having trouble identifying which cable might be connected to the scanner (if any of them - I may be looking at the wrong side). Is there anyone I can send a photo to who might be able to identify what I am looking at?
hi, I have the same problem on the epson 4100 printer, I followed all the steps and connected the cables, but the printer continues to give me the same error. How come?
Can you help me? My printer first trapped some paper, I got it out ok. Now it keeps saying error, turn on again. I do, but it keeps doing the same thing. It says 000021. Please help!

I found an Epson XP-4100 printer at a junkyard, I wanted to take it back, but your advice helped me save time
Hálásan köszönöm Magyarorszagól. Sikerült megoldani. Valóban ki volt csúszva a vezeték.
Azóta működik szépen.
Köszönettel Zoli
Oh this is awesome. Both cables on the XP-4105 were out. Easy to put back in with a pair of needle nose pliers. Thanks so much for the video.
Un grand merci de la part des Français qui n'avaient aucune réponse. Nice job!
Amazing - this worked and so easy to fix. Thanks 😊
