I find it astonishing that it’s possible to play anything like live versions of most mbv songs. They have never struck me as even pretending to have had all the sounds I hear made contemporaneously. Not to say I thought I mostly accomplished in the edit & mix, but there was, so I understand, enormous amounts of sampling their own playing, certainly the drumming, which is all real and playful by a human, but riffs and fills were used over and again in the mix. Then weren’t there famously a dozen overdubs of Bilinda’s vocal takes left in, with Kevin choosing his preferred take as lead vocal and bringing it forward in the mix. So hth do you even begin to arrange something like this to be performed by so few people? Sounds brilliant and loud.
