That footage of the suspension cycling through is really cool. Whats also interesting is how much the body mounts compress for that extra inch of suspension travel. Cool truck
I could not agree more about the suspension. I first got a very mid to low-level suspension set up for our 4runner. I soon realized the benefit of spending a little extra cash on all four corners equals comfort, maintenance, speed, and overall more fun and knowledge. Hope you guys get to start your travels soon and I hope the little videos keep coming!
That was a good idea to take that thicker leaf out of the leaf pack. A big mistake I made once was to use a Rancho add-a-leaf and after 5 years it had put a bad pressure point of the stock 88 sr5 yota leaf pack and broke the oem rear leaf pack.
Hey man, love the build and great review. I’ve got a 87 4Runner that I just finished putting the same kit on. I use King 2.5 8” coil overs. My question is this… I’m not get any real up travel. Any suggestions. As you know there’s not really any instructions to speak of but everything looks like what I’ve seen. Any thoughts?
Are you saying that it’s stiff and the suspension isn’t compressing? I ended up putting in 500lb/in springs and that helped a lot. I revalved the shocks a couple times to reduce compression damping as well. That helped soften the ride. After a month in Baja and a second application of grease to the upper bushings I found that the suspension was less stiff as well.
Hey thanks for getting back to me. Yeah I spoke to Total Chaos about the stiffness, they said it needs breaking in and that those are the coils they recommend for my truck with that kit. They also recommended 150 psi in the shocks. I might play with lessening that too before I fork out more on different coils. Anyway, thanks again
Awesome build I have a 94 Toyota pickup with the upper and lower control arms but where did you get those extended tie rod sleeves from I’m about to make some
Cool I didn’t put the kit on I bought the truck and it had it allready but they longer outer tie rods must of be from something else. I’m going to have to call and see if they will sell these separately
These are new. I picked them up from Standens in Calgary, AB but most local spring shops should have them. I paid just under $400 for a pair. In the past I’ve paid $100 for junkyard springs.
Way better than with the torsion bars. It has some body roll when the shocks are on full soft, but when set to 4 or 5 the roll is minimal. It could probably use a front sway bar.
There are a few other vendors making LT kits other than Total Chaos. I plan on making my own soon simply because I'm not about to hand someone $2,000 for what I can do for well under $1,000. The prices on these have just gotten ridiculous.

I’d rather put duro bumps and get poly body mounts.

Always happy to see content about the truck, look forward to the next episodes!
Thanks!
Good content for anyone wishing to upgrade their older Toyota PU. Thanks. You two deserve way more views/subscribers/likes! Subscribed. Cheers
Sweet hat!
Hahaha yes!!!

I want my 91 to have all this
Nice truck
Thanks! It has been a fun little project these last eight years.
We need more videos!
I’m curious how much the total cost was.
I’ve been toying with the idea of doing long travel because I don’t really need a solid axle under my truck.

Great setup. I am having hard time finding the shocks using CB 1681 Number was there a specific model of truck that you used to find these shocks
I called ICON and ordered custom shocks for the application.
I'm in Miami Florida
Always fun to little red 👍🏼 Great stuff as always buddy!
Did you have to put fiberglass front fenders on the make the total chaos work.
The Nissan Pao!
Nice truck! What size tire did you say you have? I couldn’t hear what you said on the video. Thanks!
They're 285/75R16. Thanks!
@@DeskToGlory did it fit in the spare under side between both leafs?
@@damnitdang Yes, the 285 fits between the leafs with plenty lid clearance.
Awesome build I have a 94 Toyota pickup with the upper and lower control arms but where did you get those extended tie rod sleeves from I’m about to make some
Thanks! They came with the Total Chaos Caddy Kit.

I like your setup a lot! Always thought about a GFC; you like it I assume?
i have the same truck, how much for parts and installation?
What are your tire specs? They have the good prerunner height look. 🤩
They’re 285/75R16 Toyo AT3s 👍🏻
Nice set up! where did you get those front fenders? I've been looking around online but can't seem to find them. Thanks in advance!
Thanks! The fenders are from toyotafiberglass.com in Penticton, BC 👍🏻
Bro I think I would start with Africa especially with the Russia conflict the conflict I just got back from Africa you guys will have A-blast
Do you reuse the stovk spindel ?
Yes, but upper ball joint hole gets drilled out for the uniball.
How does a guy measure for the shock hoop location?
What tire size was that again ?
Aprox how much was the suspension upgrade total?
Are those used 63’s or did you buy them new? And if new, where might that be? Thanks!

@@DeskToGlory awesome! Thanks!
I have a 87 turbo will this fit in mine also around how much was it?
So t100 axles work for this long travel kit? I have manual locking hubs and noticed you had them as well
Yes, the kit uses T100 axles 👍🏻
@@DeskToGlory do they have to get modified or do they go right on without modifications sir
@@ericestrada197 No modification necessary. I just used some aftermarket axles for a T100 from the local parts store.
@@DeskToGlory good to know for my future long travel setup. Thanks sir
@@DeskToGloryreally I was just told I need to get them custom made cause the Oem ones where to small
Where did you source the front longer axles for this? Looking on doing the same on my 2ng gen 4runner
They’re stock T100 axles 👍🏻
@@DeskToGlory seems so easy! Haha. Thanks
How does that set up ride on the road?
Way better than with the torsion bars. It has some body roll when the shocks are on full soft, but when set to 4 or 5 the roll is minimal. It could probably use a front sway bar.
@@DeskToGlory Right on! Torn between an OME kit and this kit for my 86. Road manners are important.
What front fenders did you use?
They’re from Toyotafiberglass.com 👍🏻
@@DeskToGlory thank you, so far I like your better than any others I have seen. Just ordered me a total chaos kit to put on as well.
@@DeskToGlory any clearance issues with yours and the long travel?
Find a local to do your purchasing over there and you'll save a bunch of money if they see you coming they're just gonna see dollar bills
You should probably cut the video at 11 minutes as you have three more minutes of just black screen :)
Whoops!! Fixed, thanks!!
Well, it'll be fixed when YT finally finishes processing the change...

So is it 2000 for labor only or it includes the parts? Cause I need some smooth suspension on my 94 pickup 4x4 that I got about 8 months ago
@jaimecoc8412 don't listen to that guy.. every do it yourself guys trying to just make their own kit from scratch had failed imo.
@@jaimecoc8412 Just parts man. And it's highway robbery.
