- When you descend the Timmelsjoch, or Passo Rombo, on the Italian side, you will find yourself in a beautiful and luscious green valley. The road winds between picturesque small towns, vineyards and panoramic views of the mountains on either side. What nobody told me though, was that it is HOT!!
Join me as I 'race' along the SS44 and the SS38 from St. Leonhard, via Meran, to Schlanders. Hoping that I'll have enough daylight left to see the Stelvio Pass while I'm in the area!

I really do not have much time to watch youtube anymore but when I do Andy Man is in the top 3 (and the others are not active any more, so I basically use my time on this channel) but boy am I surprised every time that the editing; music, commentary, video footage is getting consistently better. Beyond the point where it is expected, so thanks for the time put into this. I never anticipated watching someone pass an artic lorry within the speedlimit some months ago will be enjoyable but here we are.
Good times. Makes me wish I actually used the bikes for touring I own and not just commuting.

Edit: the Italian drivers are so nice, it shocked me. If they see you in the rearview mirror, They'll just scooch to the right, no questions asked. Loved it.

@@AndyManCam you're welcome, I had hopes of running into in the Alps this year, but I had to accelerate my plans due to my job ending in Sicily.
Back in America now so I will live vicariously through you and many others over there in Europe till I can get back over. Hopefully in 2022 all this Covid madness will be a thing of the past.

Yellow bike looked like a Ducati 996 :) Nice ....Maybe an armoured perforated top under yer jacket mate ? Italy is lovely - i went there in 2014 and loved it laggo maggiorie.
I reckon so. Crazy that in Italy, an Italian bike that came from Hamburg overtook me! I had a Knox Urbane Pro Mk1 under the jacket, but was continuously optimistic that the temps would drop or the speed would increase! 😂

Not my cup of tea, I'm afraid. Too many vibes on the bars and I'm liking the clean setup of having very little extra stuff in the cockpit. The tankbag holder works fine for now, but ideally I'd just have the phone hidden away completely.
Andy, that was amazing 👌 thoroughly enjoyed that ride as I tucked into the tub of Häagen-Dazs in front of the tv. The scenery en route to the hotel was absolutely stunning. I trust you had some time into the evening on that veranda. Great work once again sir.

I just arrived after my 7 days trip here in Sweden, went up to a place called Stekenjokk "vildmarksvägen" and it was awesome 😄 i also found out that the Daytona grips are very very easy to turn on during some more active driving 😅 i found my hands to be boiling hot suddenly... but hey, the work! And honestly... I enjoy not having that extra switch control unit mounted to my bars like the Oxford ones.
I will definitely plan a trip to europe and the alps in my future! Probably doing Norway first.

Thank you very much Tommie! YOu're defintely right that not having the extra control box is a real bonus. I guess it's easy to turn them off again after an accidental switch on! Way better than grips that turn off when it's cold!! Norway is on my list, but currently still not possible, sadly. Denmark is still an Orange country and I can't get there without going through!
As a side note to viewers, Andy passed through Merano not to be confused with Mirano, which is an old town just above Venice, famous for it’s glass making splendour. Merano is closer to the motorcycle playground of the Alps, which is a much better prospect of happiness to us riders, unless you’ve got your better half riding pillion that is lol.

Your videos are so relaxing sir! I've got CB650R 2020 but I want Your CB1000R sooo bad! 650r is great bike but 1000r looks much more majestic in the way it moves. I wish to drive along this path but have no chances due to $$ problems after covid. Wishing You best of luck brother!
Thanks Patryk. That's very good to hear! There is something majestic about the CB1000R isn't there! Since I've had it, I've ridden so much more calmly and smoothly, yet appear to be going just as fast as before! I hope things look up mate and you can get yourself somewhere nice.

I had a year living and working in Hamburg, loved the place, especially the FishMarkt on a Sunday morning.
That said I am now down in Munich and although I have had some rides out to some lovely lakes with the mountains in the background, I have not yet tackled a ride in the Alps, although I must do before heading back to Blighty.
It just seems that the weekends want to be crap weather, but hey fingers crossed.
I am also conscious that I am on a tiger so with that and the fact that I am literally a grandad I’m sure my journey will take longer than yours 😂

That is annoying! The horrors of being pinned down to the weekends eh. I can't recommend it enough though. There'll be nothing worse than going back to blighty and not having taken advantage of that wonderland on your doorstep! And if it takes longer, then you get longer in the mountains!
@@AndyManCam True! I rode back down a month ago and passed Baden Baden but it was torrential rain so the B500 had to wait for another day.
TBH in the rain is probably the best time to do the B500 to avoid the frustration! Beautiful sweeping roads and it's almost all 70 kmh limits! 😂

Hey Andy, what’s the deal with the mirror visors? I’d love one but all I read is that they’re not road legal. I assume they’re okay in the day, but you have to switch it out for a clear one during the night?
Hi Daniel, I think that you are absolutely right there mate, but as yet I‘ve had no issues. I think it‘s one of those things that they tend to sting you for if they‘re having a bad day or if you fail the arsehole test at the roadside! You definitely have to switch it out for a clear one at night though. Although not as tinted as a ‚proper‘ dark visor, it‘s still too dark to see anything in the dark. Plus riding at night with a silver visor will definitely get you pulled by the Rozzers! 😆

Man can you stop for a second on any camera view? :D Does it automatically glue these several sources together by switching between each one every few seconds or is it you?
On this ride, the bits that looked good were sadly very short. There was a lot more traffic and straight bits than it seems from the video! Sadly I was also fighting against engine vibes and stabilisation glitches. The next 2 vids are a lot more relaxed in style though. :D
Watching Umbrail Pass now... mouthwatering... so jealous, can't wait for 2nd shot next week.

Yep. It just doesn't compute for us! I went on holiday in Malta once where it was 45 degrees. If I didn't sit entirely still and in the shade, I was sweating faster than I could drink!
