when mikkel said 'the boy grew into a man that didn't know where he belonged' UGH poor baby😭😭
Mikkel is such a tragic character
I rewatched ep 1 recently and seeing the opening scene with Mikkel and the state he's in just hits different now 😭
The sadness of Mikkel/Michael is emblematic of the beautiful tragedy that is Winden.
Well put.
I effin love Hanna lmao. She just gets crazier and crazier. She is easily one of the most interesting characters in the show.
I freaking hate her as a person but her character is definitely really well done!
Truth indeed, I'm kinda glad they revealed the Mikkel thing this early in the show, some people like you already had their suppositions so no point in dragging the suspense.
You're in for a good journey with this show. Keep it up 🫡
Good point! We almost thought it was going to be a season finale reveal.
Just earlier this year, someone asked again if that letter could be read in 1x01. So I went back and there is like one frame where you can barely make out some words, but most of them are unreadable in the shadows of the folding lines.
One of those words ends in "-kunft" the first part being indiscipherable. Here we find out it is "Zukunft" which means future. The odd thing is that it could equally be Ankunft/arrival, Herkunft/origin or heritage, Auskunft/information or disclosure, Einkunft/income, or some other words.
And then there is the first line. "Lieber Jonas" but the r and the a are written kinda odd; like it could be a scribble and not a proper letter.
And the J is almost indistinguishable from an I. So it could almost mean dear Ines instead of dear Jonas.
I think the prop department had a lot of fun writing this ketter in a way that would make it impossible to read it properly without knowing the content first.
That is a really neat grandfather clock that sits next to the door of the clock shop.
I like it because of its unique rectangle face.
But it is weirldy positioned with its back to the shop window, right?
@michaelklaus Makes sense. 😉
@michaelclaus Michael, I just want to say that I really, really appreciate how you've been dropping all this extra info about the show! I've enjoyed reading every single comment and they make me excited to research everything I can about the show when we've finished it. I'm also just a sucker for niche facts about the movies/shows I watch.
The time when Mikkel disappears has a hidden meaning btw. 22:13 is not only the time when he goes missing it's also Revelation 22:13 "I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End".
Also Mikkel was wearing a skeleton outfit in the first episode because Michael was the first one who died on screen. Marked by death basically.
That makes me very curious to see what they do with Mikkel's character over the course of the show. We've seen the beginning and end of his story, but he still feels so mysterious.
Sorry I didn't see this when you were originally airing it, but I hope a comment will increase the search results for your channel. You are doing a great job, and you are both very entertaining and engaging. Keep up the good work! Also, love the LOTR tattoo! I recognize that elvish writing anywhere!
Thank you! It's always nice when fellow LOTR fans recognize it :D
Oh, you better believe that Martha's monolgues from the play are... relevant. They are important regarding something that's implied in the final scene of the series. 😉
Now that's interesting.
@@ChannelNamePending699 Never believe anything else... 😉
I hope you enjoy the Show so far. Just a quick technical note: In your Dark-Playlist, you've mixed up EP. 1x1 & 1x2. :D
Can't wait for the next Episode :O
Fixed!
@@ChannelNamePending699 Thank you for having your playlist in order. It helps for those of us who are binge watching your reactions.
That cut at 12:19 ha ha!
You are good regarding theories and conclusions. Or have you seen it before? Time travelling? 😀
Well, at least we see how they come to these conclusions... unlike a different RUclipsr who claims to never have rewatched or looked anything up
Definitely haven't! And we've still gotten plenty wrong lol
Ulrich is pronounced Ulrick
No, in German it's pronounced Ulri"ch", with the "ch" like in "chips".
@@ManifoldMold I just looked it up and we're actually both wrong! Ha 😄
@@sheilarose6121 "Chips" wasn't the ideal example I have to admit because "ch" is really difficult for English speakers. As a German I just chose the most similiar sounding sound and I picked sth that would rather fit the sound of "sch", but for all purposes "ch" as an English speaker is as close as "sch".
@@ManifoldMold True, it's hard to write out such a distinctive pronunciation.
lol good reaction but come on, have you heard of many men who falsely accuse women of r$pe? It doesn't happen. There are experiences that are unique to each sex and that just happens to be one of them. The over explanation in an attempt to be inclusive is a bit ridiculous
