    I just drive the vehicle over some of the smallest bump. If it make road noise, then it is ball joint. (According to the title).
    I have change enough sway bar end link, struts, ball joints on different maked and model of Toyota and other manufacturers to know what are the noise.
    However, this is more accurate in terms of diagnosing it. Love the ramp thing you made. Thank you

    I recommend buying the little cans of hot dogs called Vienna sausages to put in with the bowl of noodle snacks. No refrigeration required. Adds a little bit of comfort to the noodles.

    This is EXCELLENT work and I think your absolute BEST! THANK YOU VERY much for the extra time and effort you put into producing this!! I have watched many diagnosis videos for this issue and they usually try to move the tire (and then just leave it at that / saying little more). As a result, I just want to say that this is the BEST one (for this issue) that I have EVER seen ANYWHERE so Kudos to you fine sir!!! I will say though that you took to way to long of a detour into the "mouse in engine bay" issue (should have edited that part out entirely and kept the video's focus). Also, in regards to the parts you replaced, you never SPECIFICALLY listed all of the exact parts you replaced. If you would do your viewers and I a huge favor... I would greatly appreciate a detailed list of them all but, especially, the inner tie rod portion of the parts. Can you please do so in reply to this comment???

    Thank you very much for your video video. I have an 09 Tacoma LBDC with 200,000 originals miles. I could feel a little rattling underneath when I go over some bumps sometimes, but not on smooth pavement. I did your checks and everything checks out OK no movement so if it’s not broke, don’t fix it.😊

    Alignment place wanted to make more money and do an upsell. Don't fall for the "camber kit" upsell guys. It's just a bolt that can adjust camber by a few degrees. And most places don't even know how to adjust them either.

    Farm and country land is often rodent territory. They like the electrical charge stimulation from biting the wires. Also some automakers decided it was a good idea to use soy to make the wiring insulation. The rats thought it was a culinary delight.
    Use peppermint oil in your engine bay to help deter them. They hate the strong smell. Make sure to check inside the hamster wheel cage where the cabin air filter is. The blower motor is a nice place for them. Well. Until they get stuck. Don't breathe their virus/disease. The droppings and nest is poisonous.

    • @LAactor
      @LAactor 2 года назад +3

      He is showing us how to verify at home if someone says we need it. Not everyone has some way of lifting their vehicles.

    • @LAactor
      @LAactor 2 года назад +2

      He also says later that because the heavy wheel is pulling down on the whole assembly, it's more difficult to check. You can do both. Some things are loose in the air and some things are more loose on the ground.

    • @firstlast---
      @firstlast--- 2 года назад +1

      You are correct. There are ways you can fudge it and still detect play but to do it correctly you would have to unload the ball joints

I have a 2011 Tacoma prerunner with 57000 miles and my lower ball joints have leaked out some of the grease . I checked them like you showed in this video and they seem fine . My question is should I change them so to the grease coming out or let them go ? Thank you in advance for your help !

    • @BakedRBeans

      That's what I thought. My favorite shop would not charge that much.

    • @LAactor
      @LAactor 2 года назад

      @@BakedRBeans would they still be Michelins? They're VERY expensive. But also arguably the best riding tire brand out there.

    • @LAactor
      @LAactor 2 года назад

      Seems when tire shops see a truck they think they have money to burn for the extra gas they use. And many with large tanks. Then the 4WD. And even more when they see TRD.
      I personally have been watching tire prices and I was going to use up the last 30% of tread left but lo and behold inflation happened and tire prices went up 30% at least! I'm sure Michelins were more than that. I monitor affordable tire prices often enough to know the deals. I was interested enough to do a test quote for the club warehouses and they all came to about $230 for this tire. Insane. But with specials that Costco runs that give cashback along with free install, the little over thousand dollar tag came out to be just over $900. So unless you mean different tires, more like $250-$300 over. Sam's Club had the tire at the same price as Discount Tire but it pays to shop around because of store sales and costs of upsell packages. Sam's out the door price came to a grand and change. But the worst offender is the extended warranty "certs" from discount tire at $35/corner. That would make it just shy of $1200.
      Maybe someone who is a Costco tire rule expert can chime in but America's tire will say you're SOL if the tire is unrepairable. Sidewall or shoulder damage. So they force the certs and I would fare to say most don't redeem it.

    Omg 😱 get yourself a mouse 🐭 blocker and have Peter install it under your hood. They take no more power to operate then the clock on the dashboard.
    We had mice 🐭 in our 2012 Tacoma and didn’t know it till they chewed the wires to the throttle and the dealer changed us 650.00 to fix it. And then they got the wire to the abs brake and that cost about 450.00.
    Mice never stop chewing they can and will destroy your vehicle. I have a friend that parked a corvette in a shed and was gonna restore it one day and when he went to look 👀 at it. Mice 🐭 had destroyed everything but the body.

      They just wanted money. First they change the LBJ and then they will say the tie rod also needs. And they will say both. In reality, they can align without changing anything. It will still wear badly but I never heard an alignment shop turning down free money.
