I agree. They have so many possible ideas for shows. This new night court could be great if they stick to the original shows ideas and don’t try and “make” it better!
GOD, I SO miss this show! It and The Far Side were my introduction to truly twisted, and oftentimes incredibly dark comedy...something I still have an appreciation for thanks to them both! I really hope the new series lives up to the original, because, MAN, there was no other show like this!

Commander Data/Lore/Dr. Noonigan Soong/Dr. Airek Soong on Star Trek.

I love that the second Mac reads the charges, Harry knows exactly who they are. "Bob and June Wheeler, you Yugoslavian recidivist knuckleheads, you! What the haps brings you by?"
Here's what I hope will happen in the new Night Court that Harry's daughter will know who the Wheelers are like her father when the clerk describes the disasters that happened before and after they get arrested... again.😉😋😂😂😂
can anyone find a better punchline than "we ate the necco wafers" in Night Court ? I have a feeling this is the top 3 funniest lines of the entire show.

I just want to point out that doing this particular skit there were many takes because of the hilarity between John and Brent. It was something about them, trying to out joke each other and make each other laugh.
Hadn't seen any clips of Night Court in years. Decided to watch it, and then Check out the comments. I had no idea that Harry Anderson had died. Normally I'd feel bad for the family and friends of whomever had passed away, but I'd met Harry, and we spoke quite a bit between '93-'95. He was living in Fall City, outside of Seattle, and he became a firefighter with them. I was a volunteer with King County FD 10 (Now Eastside Fire and Rescue), and worked for American MedTech (Now AMR). I spoke with him on calls, in classes, when we ran into each other a couple of times, or when he was the emcee/comedian at our awards banquet. He was always such a vibrant, fun-loving man. I was able to ask him on a group chat around 2005 if he was going to work with the volunteer department in NC. He said that he'd try, but didn't know if he'd have the time. That was the last that I was ever able to communicate with him. As someone that would just peripherally wander into his life, it always amazed me how happy he was to speak with someone who had to remind him of my name. He remembered my face, and that I was a firefighter, but, even though he didn't know me, he always greeted me with such exuberance that I had to remind myself that he really didn't know me. His kindness and thoughtfulness will be sorely missed, and the world is a darker place due to our loss of Harry.

I am embarrassed to admit this but I just realized that "Bob" went on to be part of the Star Trek universe! Unbelievable that I never realized that was him.

"Stampede."

Sorry. She was one of Hillary’s lovers
Markie Post passed away just a few weeks, not even a month, after Charlie Robinson did.
Richard Moll is gone now as well.

Bob and June need to return to night court. It would be hilarious with Dan as the public defender.
Bob and June need to have a son named Dave (played by Wil Wheaton).

I got to meet Brent Spiner at DragonCon a couple of years ago.. he and I seamlessly re-enacted the best parts of this scene and he loved it!!
Brent Spiner is such a genius. As were the writers of this show and the entire cast.
You're absolutely right about the writing.
I just realized that's "Data" after all these years OMG

Night Court, during its finest years, gave us consistently funny scripts.
Honestly one of my favorite scenes of the whole show. I still remembered “We ate the Necco wafers”😂😂
That delivery was a comedic masterpiece of timing!😜🤣🤣
Brent Spiner! Dude is just so underappreciated. Love this guy!
proof that brent spiner pre- next gen could crack anybody up. YOU know the bloopers for that episode were classic
plus you know they took the camera from harry anderson because he was cracking up.
Several of the other characters also look away to laugh.
I always got the feeling with these two that they were the only ones with the full script and their lines were always a surprise for everyone else.
The best part is when John Larroquette turns his head he was ready to start laughing
