Idk if you’re a competitive dancer so I’m sorry if I’m sharing info you already know but at dance competitions there’s a million different 1st place awards given out. For each age category there’s a first place for each style of dance at each level. Depending on how much time you rehearse each week (with the exception of the DM teams as they were always in the highest difficulty level despite the short time they worked on each dance) there’s usually three different categories. Different names but basically a beginner, average and advanced levels. That means if there’s 3 lyrical solos all in the same age category but in different levels each of them has the opportunity to get first in their category. And that goes for every style of dance competed (there were times my sister and I were the only solos in our category so we by default got the first place trophy) in every difficulty level in every age category. While the show only shows overalls and gives the appearance that awards last around 30 minutes (they only show about 5 tho) an average award ceremony is between an hour and a half and two hours long. With multiple award ceremonies happening throughout each day of the competition. Saying that I never competed in somewhere like LA or New York, I can’t even imagine how long those competitions are.

Abby made sure to wreck every single dance of Chloe’s, and if she couldn’t wreck Chloe’s dance, she wrecked her confidence to perform it. The thing with Maddie’s “emotions” in her dance, is it was just a performance, it wasn’t real, it was forced. Chloe actually showed emotions that were authentic and real, if you watch her “another girl” solo, she really was feeling as sad and defeated as she looked on that stage. You can’t take that away from her that everything she did was from her heart, and not because a teacher taught her to do it. She didn’t need a million plastic trophies every week to validate her, she was amazing without even trying, and Abby hated that everyone loved her. I’m not knocking Maddie’s hard work, Maddie’s amazing, but those other kids were beaten down for years while the world elevated her week after week, all of those children deserved “Maddie” treatment and they all would have delivered a “Maddie” performance. Abby never would have put Maddie on stage with a solo she taught her on the bus! :/

It’s so crazy how Abby wanted to sabotage her own dancers like you’re an adult woman but you can’t put your differences aside from a mother to the child it’s disgusting. What I have to say though is not only were the girls under pressure because they had to be prove they were on the same level as Maddie. Maddie had pressure because she had to perfect all the time. All of the girls deserved better! I also think this is the proof people needed for them to see that certain dancers did get extra privileges and more practice and more rehearsals and acting coaches. To many people like to say Maddie won because she worked hard well that may be true, but she also had advantages to that hard work. I also think Maddie herself hated this and hated the favoritism which a few of the fandom to need to accept. one thing i’ve always thought is that i think abby is kind of bold for continuing to name-drop the girls for content when all this info is coming out about the reality of what the girls and moms went through. abby will claim her training got the girls to where they are now, but considering a lot of the girls have gone no-contact with her, i think it’s weird she is still always talking about them after all she put them through.

i recently watched the episode of this series (dance moms uncovered) about kenzie and her foot. I have the same foot condition as kenz, and it is painful as a person who plays softball and runs track. my practices are only about 2 hours long so I couldn’t imagine being on the foot for hours upon hours in a dance studio. the bone gets inflamed when there is too much activity. she probably rolled it,or twisted it to start making it inflamed and she kept using it so it started to continue hurting. I have a pair of special made insoles to help support my foot during sports; it hurts really bad. During the scene of her doing cartwheels you can easily see that she wasn’t putting her foot in the ground, and even if she did it wouldn’t hurt unless she did it 10-15 times in a row.

watching this reminded me of smth I've always wondered - how many of these dances actually qualified the ALDC for Nationals? Because you see with a lot of other dance teams that competed against them throughout the season, that they start rehearsals much earlier and are almost always better prepared, especially when they did the same solo at different competitions. It always seemed excessive to me that they needed to go to a competition every single week, that was insane!

10:14 The beast claims to this day that the girls never went to class. Kids who “didn’t go to class” were deemed as less talented and average. You can also tell how Abby feels about a certain person through the choreography the girls were given.
Maddie: was given advanced choreography and better costumes since she was Abby’s puppet and favorite.
Chloe: was given average choreography because she sees smart moms from humble beginnings as “average”.
Brooke & Paige: were given poor choreography because she clearly has something against Kelly (probably because she left her studio at a young age? Who knows)
Nia: was given cultural appropriated choreography with bad costumes because Abby has something against educated moms, especially ones of color.
Mackenzie: was given choreography that was just like Maddie (since Abby compared them often🙄)

This is what the business is like. It’s not typical for kids just going to dance competitions, but this is typical if you’re a professional performer. I’ve performed shows (acting) with no rehearsal multiple times. So of course someone like Kelly would complain because she wanted her kids to be “normal.” But any of the kids who really wanted to work in the industry should be thankful for the opportunity to learn what it’s really like and prepare for that lifestyle.

They didn't put her down, they were telling the truth, Maddie was not under any type of pressure when she was getting 10 times the rehearsal time the other girls got, and Abby would purposely sabotage the other girls, especially Chloe, so Maddie could win. What is vile is you disregarding the verbal and emotional abuse the other girls received and portraying Maddie as a victim which she wasn't, as this video clearly shows.

In regards to giving more complex solos, everyone other than Maddie. I do not think Abby is correct, but Melissa pulled Maddie from school so she could learn it, something the other mom would never do with that in mind, and they had less time to learn the dance. That is probably why they are so simple. Melissa allowed Maddie to get more complex dances and why homeschooling was such a big deal because homeschooling was used to help Maddie and Mackenzie out a lot. Abby gave the best solos to Maddie because she knew that Melissa would let Maddie get more time, and by the time Kenzie was a part of the show, she knew all the ways to give her kids as many advantages as possible.

With what you are telling us straight from the producers’ notes, it's obvious that they manipulated everything. Instead of blaming Abby for every wretched act, and she had many, why can't blame be put on the producers? Idk why she is made responsible for the actions of producers. In addition, why can't you also report on the brutal actions and words of the mothers? I'm not defending Abby’s bad behavior, but she wasn't the only one. The mothers fought, cursed, talked cruelly about other kids in front of the kids, and made fun of Abby’s weight. Jill and Jess were the meanest! They both degraded Brynn in front of her. Jill and Melissa were jealous suckups. The whole thing was a mess. But to blame Abby for all the problems is just wrong. So many lies were told and now we see how the producers provoked everything. Now that some girls are famous they act like they don't remember Dance Moms and Abby. the show made them. They should be grateful. And if they felt abused on the show, they should have left. Kira walked out. Jess walked out. Kelly and Christy walked out. So they could leave anytime. 😳
