Granted you could argue I'd personally rather watch 80s tyson or rjj than any of those fighters but if you are not an absolute athletic anomaly like rjj or tyson then you're better off learning the fundamentals. As far as froch goes he was a fantastic fighter but what 2ard says is pretty true and froch has a bad habit of putting people like calzaghe and ward down far too often. Calzaghe was too old, too heavy, too good and had won too many world championship belts to fight a man who was calling him out after 10-13 fights and hadn't won anything. Froch needs to let that go and put a but of respect of calzaghes name. Ward completely dominated Froch. I had that 10 rounds to 2 and honestly it looked like Ward stopped throwing his right hand in the last 4 rounds which made it easier for Froch to even nick a round or two.
Ward was pretty much spot on (I loved Froch as a fighter). Froch's strengths were his unorthodoxy, fitness, work ethic, self-belief, toughness and decent power. No great speed, average defence, never really made you sit in awe, but you gave him a chance against everyone because he fought the best consistently and mostly won against them, so he had something.
I think Andre Ward is right. As a Brit I always liked watching Carl Froch. But I always thought that Carl wasn't a great boxer. Froch is probably the most underrated British fighter ever. His last 11 fights were all world championship fights. How many fighters have done that? He fought all the top fighters in his division throughout his career and the only loss he had was Ward (He avenged Kessler). Who else has ever had a record like that? He had slow hands but he had incredible ring smarts. His timing was probably pound for pound one of the best in his era, you don't go as far as he did with slow handspeed without having incredible timing to make up for it
Your best win Lucian Bute was a hype job too. Calzaghe had more to him than just a tough chin and heart which is all Froch had going for him. I don't know who Froch thinks he is by continually slagging off better boxers than him like Calzaghie and Ward?
Real humility from Mr Froch. Your a "King" in my eyes. Ffs , Frock knocked out Taylor in the last seconds. One of the best performances , in my top 10.

I rather watch a Froch fight than a Ward one Froch is more entertaining especially the Taylor fight in he’s backyard Froch hit but was sometimes not quite as sharp
Let's not forget Andre Ward got clearly beaten by Sergey Kovalev in the first fight and was given an absolute gift decision, a shocking robbery, and he knows it. His face said it all when the decision was announced.
Froch is right about Roy Jones beating Andre Ward. Ward’s style was tailor made for Roy Jones. I think the athleticism and speed and power would have been too much.
@@discipleofthemessiah8652 in your opinion. Roy's got great movement and speed but suspect defense and chin. Back to back ko's losses when he was 35 against fighters that were the same age as him reinforces that he couldn't adapt so he's definitely overrated.
I think Ward was actually quite complimentary towards Froch , whilst he outlined his shortcomings he gave him credit for the intangible things he has like heart desire work ethic etc I think his assesment was fair and Froch couldn't really argue with it , on boxing ability alone Froch would've lost more at the highest level but he made the best of what he had to utilise , Froch for me is a top 5 best of British all time easy his resume is stacked 👍

I have to agree with froch in this interview tho 😂
Some people in life just have there way with you and ward physically bear carl and now mentally terrorizes him.
And because carl is so egotistical its brilliant
I think everything CF said in this interview was one hundred per cent spot on 🥊
Froch is probably the most underrated British fighter ever.
I didn't see that as an insult. Froch is known for a great chin and great work ethic. The Taylor was just ifs and buts.
😂😂calzaghe would have gave Carl a lesson in boxing
Joe calzaghe is the best super middle we have ever seen ! 46-0
Imagine how Badly Joe Calzaghe would of schooled him
I think he took the criticism well to be fair
roddi733 only because he has no choice his piss was boiling inside
Carl is a good lad.
Absolute helmet
Carl still mentions Calzaghe when he’s talking about Andre Ward.
Froch is an honest guy in this interview
They spoke the truth about each other. Froch is an over achiever and ward was a really boring dirty fighter who lost against Kovalev.
The title tries to frame this as negatively as possible he was actually quite complimentary.
Real humility from Mr Froch. Your a "King" in my eyes. Ffs , Frock knocked out Taylor in the last seconds. One of the best performances , in my top 10.
What’s with the moustache looks like face on a Pringle box
Trying to appeal to the LGBT community, he wants to break free.
🤣🤣🤣
I was expecting him to say "Good Moaning!"
He was absolutely offended. Which is ok. Just don’t pretend and then go on to call Ward a snore fest 567 times before the interview ends. Classic Brit. Feign respect to come off “the bigger man” and then boom…side swipe.
I agree about Roy Jones being much more exciting to watch than ward.
Do you know Carl reads all these comments to make sure someone mentions that he once fought in front of 80,000 people.
Have to say fair play to froch shows real humility, was a close fight and froch was coming on strong at the finish. Great fighter one of the uks best ever
Froch speaking complete sense here ....
Correct...ward never seems to want to talk about the first fight for some reason...rematch kovalev was finished as a top level fighter
Ward was exactly right, he is very unathletic and an overachiever.
Carl has sour grapes to this day.
He can't argue with Ward, you can tell that loss eats him alive
Froch is right about Roy Jones beating Andre Ward. Ward’s style was tailor made for Roy Jones. I think the athleticism and speed and power would have been too much.
Nah Roy would lose on points
Prime Roy beats everyone. That’s why all the commentators had him no.1. There was no arguments there. He was levels above everyone at his best!!!!!
@@discipleofthemessiah8652 in your opinion. Roy's got great movement and speed but suspect defense and chin. Back to back ko's losses when he was 35 against fighters that were the same age as him reinforces that he couldn't adapt so he's definitely overrated.
@@discipleofthemessiah8652 definitely !
Fair play to Froch. Very honest.
Smh. Man knocked out George Groves in Wembley stadium in front of 80,000 people. Not a lot of people know that
Not everyone can appreciate art , people think it’s boring ... same goes with boxing styles like Andre ward
“It was absolutely spot on to be honest” . First words from Carl Froch.
Froch on fighting, pass the pod... Sorry wrong person ;)
"hits back" smh
Freddie Mercury asked some good questions there
I think Ward was actually quite complimentary towards Froch , whilst he outlined his shortcomings he gave him credit for the intangible things he has like heart desire work ethic etc I think his assesment was fair and Froch couldn't really argue with it , on boxing ability alone Froch would've lost more at the highest level but he made the best of what he had to utilise , Froch for me is a top 5 best of British all time easy his resume is stacked 👍
