How many people watching this smiled when John sat on the swing base (34:40) to test it? John, you do great work, and to share your talents with a neighbor in need, you are a blessing. Thank you for sharing your talent with him and us.
John, You are a BIG Hearted Friend. I know, the Lord was smiling from what you did on this day for this Special Guy that you called Jimmy. The Swing came out Awesome too❕ I Really Like the Look's of it myself. Great Job.
may god bless you john for this selfless act of kindness ,swing just looked awesome and will bring many hours of pleasure ,thanks for sharing this with us,all the best john.........................dougie from the uk
Your shop space looks very crowded but you have just about every tool needed. I have been debating if to build a 40x30 metal building. The problem is the building will be at another location and means I cant just step outside and work.
Loved ur design... However would suggest one change.... The chain is connected only to the base of ur bench... One section of the chain should be connected to the backrest of the seat too. If someone heavy leans backwards he can fall off.
He has had it a couple of years now, and that hasn't been an issue. On a light-weight swing I could see that being an issue, but this chair has a low center of gravity (and is heavy), and has never come close to even hinting at tipping. If it ever is I can attach a chain to the top of the seat that anchors to the existing chain.
Very nice work as always, John. I'm finally getting around to putting together a water table for my 2x4 machine. Was wondering what the slat spacing is on yours and how much bend the slats have, and if you'd change anything. Do you add anything to the water to keep everything from rusting out? Thanks
I add sodium nitrite. You can pick some up on ebay. I put just enough bend in the slats to take out any wiggle. That is all that is needed (don't want your part moving around on you). My slats are 2.125" apart. Anything around 2" would be sufficient.
Great job. Enjoyed the video and selfless act of kindness. I have a question as far as the plans, are you interested in sharing them? I of course could compensate if necessary. Thank you for your time and keep the vids coming.
Thank you. My apologies, I don't have any plans. I just made it up as I went along. I am pretty sure the A frames are 6' tall and 6' wide (or pretty close)
Hi, John Very interested in your swing design. my family is hard on plastic weave outdoor furniture and we have kids would you recommend this super-Duty design or something else?
Noooooooooooooo. I did not order enough steel. I am building a welding table so that I can build this swing as well. I ordered 2x2 with 3/16" wall for $40 each 20 ft joint.
Pésimo el vídeo, no sabía que hacer, no preparó previamente todos los detalles, de como afirmar la estructura, los cortes quedaron mal, alargó mucho su trabajo, saludos
John, you are a big hearted human being, God sent. You'll be well rewarded for this kind gesture. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you
